    My wife and I were in New Bern the Tues before Florence hit. We toured the Grand Marina and also thought the Bay Leaf was great!

      Nice. Were you thinking of staying at New Bern Grand Marina with your boat? Hope the Bay Leaf had no damage from the storm. We were glued to social media watching the devastation of that storm in New Bern. So sad.

      Not yet but we are planning ahead so wanted to look at slips. I was also watching closely too and was amazed to see places we were standing fully under water three days later. We really liked the town and area especially with the outer banks. So much to see.

    I love those white swivel chairs. Where did you find them?

    • @SearchingforCShels

      It is a place called Structube. www.structube.com/en/stacy-swivel-chair-10-05-14?pid=12323

    When you head back to Canada, will you be taking the St. Lawrence to Lake Ontario? Or Erie Canal to Lake Erie?

    • @SearchingforCShels
      @SearchingforCShels  8 років тому

      +Fitz's Fixes Actually we will be taking the Erie Canal to Oswego to cross Lake Ontario. We believe this to be the fasted route to get to Gananoque Ontario, that is our home port.

      +Searching for C-Shels The other way, Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence then up to Gan is a nice trip as well. The downside is the St. Lawrence is mostly industrial canals, not much to look at and fewer services. There's also a 2.5 kt current right on your nose. Looking forward to watching your trip home. Cheers!

      +Rick Laporte We thought of that route, however there is a bridge of a little over 12' of clearance on Lake Champlain that I don't want to bother with at this time. We have been through the St. Lawrence from Old Montreal once, so seeing new things on the Erie and Oswego Canals will be interesting and new. Cheers to you as well buddy! Can't wait to see your ship on the water.

    Ah yes that makes sense. Well if you decide to take the Erie Canal all the way to Lake Erie, shoot me a message. We're located at the beginning of the canal right off the Niagara River. Great place to dock for a night or 2. Plenty of things to do. Drinks are on me!

      Sounds good to us +Fitz's Fixes. We know the area, we crossed Lake Erie from West to East and up the Welland Canal when we took delivery of our last boat. Lake Erie was a rough spot. ;-)

    Love your videos, reminds me of my move into my Bayliner 39 last year. I have lived aboard full time now 6 months located in the San Juan Islands Washington State. Best of luck to you both.

      Actually we are both Newfoundlanders, however I grew up in Labrador, so my accent is less detectible.. I think... :)

    How much head room do you have inside the boat ? I am 6'3 and you look like you have to lean over to walk around inside, not sure how tall you are .

    • @SearchingforCShels
      @SearchingforCShels  7 років тому

      I am 6'4. There is 6'4 headroom in my boat. So the top of my head rubs on the vinyl. I don't notice it all that much though.

    White carpet in a boat. Lol. Add bright white couch and that becomes too funny. What goes through people’s minds when considering interior on a boat? Do they think the sea spray and salt will not get into their cabins? A year from now if the boat gets traveled it will stink. Why do you think most all boats have wood floors or some other solid flooring? It looks pretty but belongs in a condo. Washable area rugs would have been a better choice.
