There is not that much sap in ash, I find it curious that it dull the blade, could it be what he was sawing before hand that put some pitch on the gullet and the ash started to stick. interesting video thanks for sharing.
Could be. The saw was sharp to start, and I don't think we sawed too much mud... The ash was dead and dryer than a lot of sticks we saw though. It left a slight residue on the bits, but nothing like pine!

Looks like Doug was able to maximize the yield from those logs but there wasn't too much good lumber.
