    I went on a day with no one in the park, and the operators said they had to hold dispatches for 7 minutes between trains. This may be part of what you were experiencing as far as slow operations. It's mind blowing to know this park can get busy though, as it was really, really empty the two days that I went.

      ​@@MaloneysCoastersmy guess? Keeping the electric bill down. An LSM launch consumes between 2.5 and 6 MW of juice in a few seconds.

      @@MaloneysCoasters There was no one in the park on my visit, so I just assumed it had to do with them wanting to not run the coaster as much (it was closed on the even slower Wednesday that I went). You used some of my shots amazingly - really made some of them look good! Wish I could have gotten even more, but it wasn’t cycling much, and I wanted to explore the whole park while I was there. Still dreaming about that Top Hat at times - loved the airtime over it, trim brake and all!

    Complaining about the trim, when you pull 4.5 G's directly after... I mean... i guess there is a reason why it's there. 😅

    I like how they keep the ride low to the ground so the speed never get very slow

    Glad to hear that this ride packs a punch! Most of the new age Vekomas are rather re-rideable than being ultra intense IMO. I liked the layout from off ride, and if it has some good forces, I'd like to try it some point in the future!

    This ride will be run with 2 trains if the queue is over 20 minutes long and we all know it never happen due to the lack of visitors

    If they just turn down the trim break on the top hat a little bit this ride will run much better with the amount of air time it had

    Usually, I don't like too intense coasters, mostly, looping coasters. But I do love i305, SkyRush, Maverick and Velocicoaster. Great video, by the way!

    A trim on that style tophat is actually pretty commonly used. Velocicoaster for instance does the same thing. They're used a lot.

      True, but if you watch the footage on this one, it slows the train quite heavily, and my criticism is that this one genuinely does affect the forces of the top hat, which it would seem VelociCoaster does not.

    Im planning on going to VinWonders Phu Quoc in April. I’ve never been on a new-gen Vekoma coaster before, so Wrath of Zeus will be something special for me! It looks incredible and I can’t wait to ride it! The only Vekoma coaster I had ever ridden was an SLC ;-;

    If Vekoma willing to clone their Firestorm model, I can see some changes to have it a little less intense positive G’s to the general public.

    So I got some new Information. The Vinpearl Ho Chi Minh plan was delayed and relocated to a new location now called Vinpearl Grand Park. Instead of a brand new coaster, they relocated the small family boomerang coaster from VinWonders Phu Quoc to there. 😀 I have a short video of the park construction

    When I visited in 2023, I really liked the park and the rollercoaster. Also appreciated the Eagle Warrior coaster. Do you by any chance know the soundtrack of the EW?

      Eagle Warrior is an amazing coaster, it was the most pleasant surprise of the trip! I know it has an original soundtrack as well but I've been struggling to find it

    If this ride is as "whippy" I've interpreted (e.i. lots of lateral), some form of shoulder support could actually be necessary.
    I'm actually surprised that nobody has tried just taking the top straps from a safety harness, like Recaro or Sabelt, and having those plug directly into a lap bar. That way, the rider can determine how tight or loose they want them, and most of the pressure will be down on the shoulder, which is typically the pressure point you want your shoulder restraint to press down on anyways.
    The only downside is when these straps get wet from inclement whether, and they might have to be replaced far more often than restraints made out of plastic.
    The only other thing I can think of is adding some sort of padding/more pliable material to the shoulder straps, so that they don't dig into unsuspecting riders.

    I re ride it this summer and on the top hat funny enough the air time with trim break just make me standing on my 2 feet for seconds 🤣 it’s a wild experience🤣. I did pull my restraint down a lot but the air time, the car angle when it going down, and the trim combine created a cool moment.

    the trims on this one might be a little stronger then normal, cause it's build in a fairly hot location so it'll be a bit faster then if it where build anywhere else anyway

    (Know that I am not defending the use of any trims when I say this next bit, nor do I necessarily think that your review of the ride or thoughts on it would ultimately change its score you've assigned it.)
    I think you kind of missed the point of the Top Hat's set of trims in your discussion and final thoughts/review. The use of primary post-launch trims is very important and ultimately is definitive of a new generation launched Vekoma product.
    From a marketing and general public level of interest, the trims set at the descent of the Twisted Top Hat are there as a feature to generate a holding drop moment, similar to a B&M Dive or even more similarly functions like the drop Gerstlauer worked into Hangtime @ Knott's. I'm sure you're familiar with many other manufacturers use of them on other recent flagship scale projects, though I admit I think the implementation here is a bit more extreme possibly, with the hold dragging the front car to a crawl at its near vertical/face-down moment (other examples being like Intamin's Velocicoaster or Vekoma's own Abyssus).
    If we call this the primary reason that they are utilized here, then the next reason (the *actual* primary reason for inclusion) determines how they're actually utilized and integrated; this being the selling advantage in a no-wear, naturally active, fail-safe reliability. Primarily, it ties with the reason the launch is as aggressive as it is and why the top hat has ejector: a mix of selling points like high speed and tall stats, but the overall scale of a 65mph coaster.
    The launch/tophat-hold combo greatly reduced risks of costly valleyed train rescues, as well as the need for many extra sensors or fancier computer integration to operate the ride. The system was designed for operation to basically allow a train to get sent down the LSM run at full throttle, much to how you described it, then naturally brought down to a crawl so that the exit speed/entrance to rest of ride is nearly identical everytime. You could over run the LSMs, if it were somehow possible, another 5-10mph and still result with nearly the same tophat exit speed because of how late the trims are staged, as well as why they go for as long as they do (referring to length). Alternatively, you could launch a train at its minimum to clear top hat speed, and because of the nature of permanent magnetic brakes, also result in essentially the same top hat exit speed.

    You just about blacked out immediately after that initial trim did you not? That is why it is there. They obviously wanted a very fast launch and a high top hat, but the design of the layout is much better suited to a lower speed/top hat design that would have eliminated the need for such an aggressive trim.

      Yes, but that's kind of my point. Obviously the trims were necessary, but what that suggests to me is that the top hat needs significant reprofiling, or the train is just downright being launched too fast. Plenty of coasters are able to offer untrimmed, airtime-filled top hats AND not make riders pass out. I'd rather see the Firestorm adjusted so the trims aren't necessary.
      I still loved the coaster, and I'm actually a huge fan of grey-out positives, but if the Firestorm is cloned, that's an improvement I'd like to see.

    This thing looks like a best of Abyssus and Lech Coaster. I've done both and expect Wrath of Zeus to be better. Maybe it's the best Vekoma coaster period

    One potential reason why the loading process was so extensive and long is that outside of the western world these giant expensive rollercoaster are relatively uncommon with a few exceptions. The way we view bungee jumping is likely similar to the way they view something like this and I’m sure that even though the park may know it’s unnecessary, they say and do all that stuff to put native people visiting the park at ease, just like we like safety instructions when doing something scary and extreme even if we don’t necessarily need them because we know it’s safe.

      That is a good point, and you're probably right! However when I rode Roaring Timbers at the other park on Phu Quoc, the operating procedures were much more similar to what I'd expect in Australia. Similarly in Taiwan, some coasters had ludicrously bad operations while others were absolutely fine. I wonder if it's maybe something specific about this ride model that the park wants to ease people's fears about, or that they're trying to play it safe with.
      It is interesting to consider that countries with less exposure to extreme coasters might approach them much more cautiously though! I'll definitely be paying attention to it in my upcoming adventures :)

      @@MaloneysCoasters Roaring Timbers held their dispatches for 10-15 minutes for me on a slower day. Though I’ve heard they’ll run the trains quickly if they’re sending out full loads.

      @@RollerCoastersOfThailand Interesting! It seems like I visited on a busier day at both parks than you did, because I found Roaring Timbers was dispatching reasonably quick. Now I have to go back to investigate! (And ride again of course)

      @@MaloneysCoasters Well worth another trip! Made it really hard for me to get off ride footage of Roaring Timbers though. Did they have the preshows going for Eagle Warrior when you were there? (They just had us walk through since no one was there.)

    I'd assume the vests are for in case someone blacks out. That way they don't crush their face on their lap bar or start laying over the side of the seat.

    I’m going on this coaster on July and I’ve only been on tnt at Gumbyua world so l want to know if it’s going to be to intense for me

    You might like intense coasters but I don’t. I won’t knowingly get on anything that gives gray outs. Do not like them. To me such rides are design errors as I doubt any manufacturer is intentionally trying to give people gray outs. And the trim breaks would point to that being the case. Same with Goliath at SFMM. This layout does look fantastic though and if they could just do something about the drop and turn after the top hat and do something with the restraints, I think this could be an outstanding cloned ride. But it won’t get widespread appeal if adjustments aren’t made to the layout.

      Probably of the weather of the island very cloudy and make everything seems darker. When I visited it was a sunny day and it looks not so bad. Also it might be because of the theming of ancient old world

      Unfortunately I didn't have a GoPro at the time of my visit, so I didn't ask. You would have to check with the park. A few POVs do exist on UA-cam though, so it seems it's possibly allowed

      I just messaged the park on Facebook with a picture of my chest mounted Go Pro, and they gave me permission to take it on all of the rides throughout the park. Though, none of the workers questioned whether I had permission on any of the rides I went on, so just taking one should be okay (I'd still ask, just in case). Seems weird Vietnam isn't as worried about Go Pros, since they seem a bit stricter on phones then other parks I've been too.
