Patience and gently pointing out in a positive way when the opportunity to lead is present. It might not be a refusal to lead but a simple lack of familiarity of the how and when.

I find my situation being quite similar. I find that when a son sees his mom working 2-3 jobs to carry the household, men tend to gravitate to women work horses or take charge women when they choose a mate due to that's what he is used to seeing even though she may not want that job. Im interested to hear how to change this scenario.

One thing I didn’t hear y’all touch on is asking the question if the lady who writes in ACTUALLY gives her man space to lead.
A lot of women talk about wanting a leader or liking it when the man takes the lead, but very few will actually step back and actually give the man the opportunity to lead.
Especially if they describe themself as an “alpha female”
And please stop pandering with statements like “women are 10x better than men” it’s so cringe.

This is how I found this video. How does the woman give space for the man to do so? I am coming from a 10+yr marriage where I was the leader and now in my new relationship, he states I do not allow him to lead. How does a woman step back and do that? I am clueless to what I am wrong.

@@nanibugmoss2182 you have to get comfortable with letting go.
Let go of needing to approve every decision.
Let go of every idea/plan needing to be yours.
Let go of needing the things you ask for him to take care of being done on YOUR timeline.
Let go of the need to micromanage all the projects around the house.
Let go of needing things to be the way YOU have always done them.
Let go of your expectation for him to think and react to situations the way that you do.
      Let the man breath.
Let him suggest things without immediately trying to figure out a better way or why his way is wrong.
Let him make decisions without immediately challenging or questioning it. Let it play out and see what happens.
      Do not emasculate him.
      Do not disrespect him.
Do not lead with criticism during disagreements or when asking him to modify a behavior/habit.
      And lastly...
LISTEN to UNDERSTAND his perspective and his motives instead of listening to RESPOND with why his perspective and motives should be more like yours.

I can appreciate the 70/30 sentiment, but when you settle into that one person can end up carrying too much too long. It’s important to be sensitive to that.

The question that should be asked instead should be "how do I get MY man to take RESPONSIBILITY in the home?" Not how to take the lead.Men love that privilege.

It's not necessarily taught but it's modeled when the Mother is single, especially if the Father is not on the picture
