Thank you my friend, I just finished cleaning my brothers xbox that sounded like a rocket ship... You made the proccess quick & simple. Luckily I already had Thermal paste from my laptop's motherboard I replaced. His xbox is literally pushing out very cold air a like a small air conditioner haha. Time to do mines now!
My son's console is 2017, it was time to repaste the processor and clean the inside. There was a lot of dirt in it and the paste was dry. Thanks for the help, based on the video, I went into it with more confidence. I trust that I have improved the condition of the console. 👍👍
Man thank you so much, my xbox wasn't very dirty as I had cleaned it a few months back, but the paste was completely dry and the disc tray wasn't reading. By far the best clean video I have seen.
My Xbox case doesn’t wanna fit after trying to put the one near the hdd and it just won’t screw in I think it may be where you put the screws and they can’t alright could anyone help?
to anyone cleaning their xbox one casing as the video shows, be careful with your black casing. Thats the first thing he removes the bottom of the xbox. it still connects your sync spring not to damage that as it breaks easily if your brushing and miss it
Had some questions: 1. Which thermal paste are you using? 1.1. Can you recommend 2 or 3 brands for that? 2. When you're cleaning with alcohol and Q-tips, what type of alcohol is it? 2.1. Did you clean the whole motherboard with that?
Any thermal paste is better than none, however, those that includes metal are better. Arctic Silver is known for being a great thermal compound. Isopropyl alcohol is the most useful in such situations. Anything above 90% is great. Not the whole motherboard, only where I thought is needed
Hey I just tore down my Xbox one S. It sounded horrible and was overheating. I opened it up and it looked like someone dumped a bucket of dirt in it. This video helped a lot. Thank you!
Did everything exactly but wifi seems to no longer connect, it picks up networks and attempts to connect but doesn't work, could it be the internal adapter?
I tore my xbox one s because it was smelling like something was burning but the amount of dust i found in there explains the smell. Now it is quiet, the fan pushes out cold air again and doesn't smell burnt. Great tutorial
Surveillance HDD. No wonder my One S stutters sometimes. I know it can't be very dirty because it doesn't get a lot of use and it is only 4 years old. But I feel like it might be coming up on time to change the thermal paste simply due to age . Is the white residue from a spill, corrosion or just dusty residual flux? How arrogant is Microsoft that they can't even manage to put a tiny AMD logo somewhere on the chip?
Hey quick question . I've been experiencing a problem with my Xbox One S Everytime I turn it on it beeps and cut back off within a second it's been going on for three days now and I just wanted to know if you know anything I could do? Or do you have any videos on that problem?
Did this happen after cleaning? If so, it may be a problem with some connections when you assembled it. If you never opened your console, this sounds like a Power Supply issue
@@YesterdaysTechThank you so much for replying it means a lot..And, I never opened my console it even still has the sticker seal on it, but i will buy a new power cord today and see if that works. Thanks again 🙏
I just had this problem and its a relatively simple fix. Hold down the xbox button on your console until it powers off, unplug the powercord for ten seconds, then plug it in and wait ten seconds. This will hard reset your console (NOT wipe storage, simply reboot the operating system) and it should help glitches such as this. Its recommended you do this at least once a month depending on your playtime.
I followed this video to help my Xbox breathe again after 6years of not cleaning it. The dust was insane! Only problem I had was pull the bottom black bit off. I managed to get it off with abit of force but I damaged some clips and the Bluetooth button piece that sticks out.
hey ive noticed some cables have been wired unevenly and have been bending for years, would you recommend i leave them or try correct it? where they might be a chance of them not working as theyve adapted to the bent position
Maybe it could be that in opening the xbox you ruined the thermal paste and now you need to clean it and reapply it. I'm not sure tho. The same thing happens to the ps4, it turns on, the cpu overheat and it turns off
Thank you for your help! A certain ram power was replaced on the motherboard and the problem was solved! (Unfortunately, I can not speak English! I use a translator!)
Im going to be selling my xbox one s digital edition very soon on ebay and ik i can clean the outside of it t and not have any issues. But im nervous to open it up and attempt to clean on the inside. Idk if its very dirty on the inside. I bought it in 2020 cuz my original xbox finally died on me. It works well as far as i can tell. I dont hear the fan while im playing games on it or anything. When i turn it on it will takes a second to fully load (not very long at all and this may just be because i have the power settings set to where the xbox completely shuts down all the way when you turn it off. So that is probably the reason for the tiny bit slower of a start up. I just dont want someone to buy it then when they get it open it up and it be super dirty, it works perfectly so its not like they could ask for a refund really but it would still embarrass me even if i never heard them complain about it lol
Great enough to be 𝘁𝗵𝗲 definitive tutorial for X1S, you can literally stick to the video from start to finish even for small stuff like where to start prying off black cover (I started elsewhere and found that harder), appreciate including reassembly as well! The quality of plastic used here seems to be a huge leap forward from X360 phat, the latter almost being guaranteed to have a clip or two broken during teardown :/ This 𝘖𝘯𝘦 (pun? :P) should be a lot less prone to deterioration, and with much more reasonable reinforcement on the back the chance of breaking any piece of casing should be pretty low. Also X-clamp is a lot easier to remove since there is only one instead of having two of them sitting right nest to each other; circuits on the board staying as far away as possible from the anchor point ensures that one really have to be a genuine dumbass in order to damage the board when removing X-clamp this time. :P
@@DanskiV2Yep, but I changed thermal paste and cleaned it all out with 98% alcohol. Took everything apart in the end but she's running smooth and quietly now. Made a picture on a card board box of where the screws go and basically took them of the xbox and popped them into the cardboard, helped a lot putting it back together. Good luck with yours
dude this is the most helpful video i’ve ever watched, straight to the point and not too fast. thank you

Awesome!
I was confident that I could do this but now in scared
Trust me its not that bad i just did it and my brother helped a bit you don’t need all these steps for a deep clean
Compared to x360 it's relatively easy
Me too me too
Great video! The best part is you sound like every villain from every 80's movie made in the U.S.!
That’s racist

Thank you bro I literally couldn't do this without u helping me.
Out of all of the xbox repair/disassembly/cleaning videos I've seen, I've never, ever seen that trick with the X-Clamp. Well done man!
Best way to remove that dreaded thing I have ever seen!
excellent video. I appreciate the step by step teardown and reassembly.
It's been 6 years and played my xbox everyday and I've never thought of cleaning it but here now to find out how
"That metal thing" - you are obviously Kimbo Slice fan! :D Great work.

Glad it helped!
I don’t have the torx screwdriver. Is there any way to take it off without it?
Did everything exactly but wifi seems to no longer connect, it picks up networks and attempts to connect but doesn't work, could it be the internal adapter?
If it worked before opening, try to reconnect the wifi to the motherboard
7:01 so thats the hard drive, right ? am i able to replace it ?
Yes, you can replace it, but you will need to install the operating system on your newer Hard Disk
Mine still doesn’t work it makes a little noise when I plug it in but it doesn’t turn on
Tnx i dont have a xbox one s rn but ima get a used 1 and clean it and put a window mod with rgb fan any pointers for a beginner?

Man I just cleaned mine and it’s nowhere near that bad. It must have been in a tight enclosed space that was never cleaned😂

I think it's corrosion
Why did you remove the sticker? It didn't help
Why does my radiator not have the copper tubing?

What tools are you using
Nice job bro 💪💪
hey ive noticed some cables have been wired unevenly and have been bending for years, would you recommend i leave them or try correct it? where they might be a chance of them not working as theyve adapted to the bent position
It depends of what cables you're talking, if the XBOX worked properly, it doesn't matter
@YesterdaysTech cool it was just the colourful ones connected HDD, but was all good thanks for such a great vid
Can you use something else then thermal paste. Because what if you don’t have that
It's recommended to use thermal paste
What else were you going to use? Ketchup?
Toothpaste
Hello! I took apart and cleaned my xbox one s! After switching on, it makes a sound and turns off! What could be the problem? Can you help me?
Maybe it could be that in opening the xbox you ruined the thermal paste and now you need to clean it and reapply it. I'm not sure tho. The same thing happens to the ps4, it turns on, the cpu overheat and it turns off
Most probably you didn't connect correctly the cooler fan, try to unplug it and put it back
Thank you for your help! A certain ram power was replaced on the motherboard and the problem was solved! (Unfortunately, I can not speak English! I use a translator!)
Followed this and now my newly bought console is like new inside and outside
What is that glue you put on that square the silver glue
It’s thermal paste also known as thermal compound
Can someone make me a list of the types of screws they use?
T8, T10, H3.0 (used as pry tool for rear CPU bracket)
I FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS TO YOU MY FRIEND!!! I FINALLY DID IT THANKS TO YOU!!!!!
Glad to hear that
Microsoft really hates their customers 😭 just took apart one, buttons fell off from lifting the bottom cover 💀
Is it only me or I love teardown vids. I have a xbox one x, but scared to open it..
U forgot that h shaped piece that goes in near the hdd.
I had no left parts, I don’t remember to lose anything
My disc deive doent pop off
Why does his cooler have copper pipes 😢
I've never seen any XBOX Console without heat pipe, even the first XBOX One, the fat version has them
Thank you all i can say God is with you my brother
Hey could you list all the specific tools you need for this would help alot🙏
You need a Torx TR8 and a Torx TR10

If your XBOX is running fine, there's no need to open it. Removing the seal may lower the price

Thx for this. Gonna use this to clean my friends, he dropped bailey's on top for whatever reason 😂
I am here after spilling a small amount of vodka coke on mine lol, did it work?

What had me cracking up is that he would never say the proper terms for the parts he’d just say “no we are gunna remove this metal thing” 8:21 💀🧌
and how would you name that metal thing?
I would call the metal guard of the mother board so it doesn’t just come out
Hello, could someone give me advice on what to do when it takes my CD but won't load the games
Thank you!!!
Thank you
