Charlie Chaplin seems to have loathed this movie as he never enthusiastically covered this movie in his autobiography. He was beset with lots of personal problems and production delays during filming of this movie. The critics of his time too were not patronizing but yet we audience need to agree that Chaplin's worst movie were better than the lots that were released during that period.
I hate to be the one to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, but that tightrope was only three feet off of the ground, with the images of the tent ceiling just the backdrop.
