I would say the VxV hits slightly harder, but it's difficult to compare. The VxV has rounder, 'wetter' bass with more mid-bass tone. The M9 has faster, cleaner and flatter bass, with sub-bass and mid-bass in equal measure. Depending on the VxV will appear to have the same amount, or more bass than the M9.
