Thank you so much for sharing. Saw the film in the cinema for the Singapore Buddhist Film Festival yesterday. Really appreciate the many pith-instructions of the practitioners captured in the film that inspires contemplation to what I have learnt from the precious teachers and self-reflection on experiencing the teachings itself. One sharing by Ted included in the film that really connects to my heart and mind was that he said a good teacher is one who can see you, but a powerful teacher is one who can help you to see yourself. This film is a precious teacher in itself. Thank you so much. 💖💕☀️🌈🙏🙏🙏💖🍀

Regarding Ven. Shifu Heng Sure's question on whether the hermits have created a sacred space in the mountain or the mountains doing something for the mind, i think it is both ways -- interdependent.
As to whether it is necessary to retreat into the mountains to practice, I have dwelled on this before. I think it is a matter of decision determined by the driving state of mind of practitioners and aspirations of the past and present that unfold as dependent-arising and the vastness of the playing out of the ripening. That is why the mountain inspires different thoughts to different people. Same for any other appearances.
However, I would humbly guess from my conceptual perception that Ven. Shifu Heng Sure is probably trying to open our mind to the on-going state of practice that comes with awareness: where there is awareness of practice, there is practice; where there is no awareness of practice, wherever we may be, there is no cultivation going on.
Thank you so much for the precious teachings. Shifu is a 大菩萨。So is Ted and everyone else who makes it possible for the teachings to reach us. 感恩!
