I remember me and my brother in Porter's lake, rowing in a small wooden boat. We had to lay down in the boat to get under the middle Porter's lake bridge. We just used the beams and braces to pull the boat along till we got all the way under !!!
thanks for the film,we were livin in south end hfx, just had my 1968 honda 90 on the road and i rem drivin around hfx getting so wet from the rainstorm..crazy me
Very beginning you can see Dartmouth curling club in the background with the current day bob's/blue bell taxi building directly to the right in the mid-ground. Neat
Just below Sullivan’s Pond, Dartmouth. After this event Sawmill Creek was buried in a pipe from Sullivan’s Pond to the harbour. Two years ago it was partially daylighted.
Thank you! Being 8 years old I remember it very well standing there watching bowling pins floating out of Beasleys
I remember this on the news as a kid, we moved to Dartmouth the following year.

I remember it well, I remember my friend Debbie and I walking in it. We used to dive off that little wooden bridge in between the canoe clubs

Hi Doug, are you able to help me track down the audio for this video? Or, given it was taken in 1971 perhaps no audio was even recorded?
Thanks
Oscar
95% sure there was no audio
it was probably taken with a Super 8 motion picture camera. Analog consumer tech of that era.
Shot on 8mm film I believe. Definitely no audio...
Cool, this was one month before I was born over in Grace Maternity......
Where is this
