I often search UA-cam for vintage Dartmouth videos, my mother grew up in Dartmouth and I like to watch and hope to catch a glimpse of her or my grandparents or uncles and aunties, she would have been 15 years old when this was filmed and I can't wait to show her this video, I'm so glad you made this video public, thank you ❤️🇬🇧
Lots of interest for Dartmothians, including the Boatfloat when it was kept whitewashed, the Globe Inn, the two garages on the Embankment (Walls and Couch & Stoneman), the station still overhanging the water, the Adrian Gilbert and Humphrey Gilbert on the passenger ferry, no houses up Jawbones... Lovely too to see the Dart before the Harbour Authority filled every square inch with yacht moorings.
It is interesting to compare the vintage view with today’s up to date computer images, I find it really usefull when trying to find out the locations on some of the films which have no labels on them.
@@deanlee7034 There we go. Brown people. I was in Dartmouth all last week and the place was overwhelmingly populated by obese white people, gawping at their phones whilst chuffing away on their vapes. Thats the main difference I see from this video.
@deanlee7034 Not quite. Mass immigration as you call it was a post war thing due to Labour shortages thanks largely to our German neighbours! But yes you are right the tories hadn't got us into Europe by then, and they hadn't completely decimated our industry by then neither
My late wife came from this beautiful town.I was there many times during the 60s.
