    The prosecutor is very good. Doesn't argue with the witness, doesn't bully her, lets her answers just sit when they're nonsense, controls the witness, every question is a leading question, saves the ultimate point for closing. Irving Younger would be proud.

    She is an unbearably pretentious person. I’ve never seen a brutal killer like her. She sees herself as this intellectual, quirky, free spirit type. She thinks she’s just the most interesting, complex person in the world. She thinks she sees things no one else sees, experiences the world in a way no one else ever has. She thinks she’s irresistible to sensitive, poetic type guys. But that only lasts until the mask falls, and they see what they’re really dealing with.
    She is an extremely scary person. What she did was animalistic. It’s like she let every hidden, basic instinct loose at once. Just frenzied. I am sure she shrieked, growled, made the most unholy noises during the attack. He didn’t have a chance.

    It's like she wanted to end the relationship with Alex...yet did not want Alex to move on or date anyone else. I think its absolutely disgusting how she played both Alex and Jason simultaneously, in order to satisfy her fragile sense of self importance. She kept Jason at a fingers length while messing around with Alex. Then wanted to keep Alex at a fingers length while she planned on getting Jason back. I think Alex may have dumped her first, triggering her narcissistic tendencies, therefore she lured him out in the middle of nowhere, under the guise of wanting to have a deep, serious talk, in order to have the ultimate final say. Sick.

    • @DigAPonyY
      @DigAPonyY 11 місяців тому +3

      The picture was and the prosecution was allowed to cross examine her on the subject. The judge said he was allowing one picture to be shown and cross examination. Just not displayed for everyone to see. Only the jury was able to view it. Regardless, even without that, she was going to be found guilty. The evidence was overwhelming enough, on top of the fact that she claimed things happened that were proven to be completely fictitious lies, and supports how deviant she is. All goes towards character.

    • @DigAPonyY
      @DigAPonyY 11 місяців тому +4

      I'll never slam a lawyer that defends the indefensible, however, if it was her idea to have this girl testify, it did nothing but show how deviant she is, how much of a liar she is, and how easy it is for her to put on an act, trying to look and act so innocent and fragile...and the bdsm stuff and secret journal entries did nothing but show how much of a weirdo she really is. She killed Alex all over again here, by trying to defame a dead guy as some horrible abuser with violent tendencies, yet shes here and he's not. Hope she never gets out.

      “And that deleted all of those text messages, correct?”
      “Yes, that would do that.”
      I just can’t shake the notion that phrasing it in this way is her attempt to make this act seem less deliberate. Phrasing it to make it so Ezra had no personal agency in something that might make her look guilty (E.g. “Oh I didn’t delete the MESSAGES” (as one might if they were trying to conceal them or hide something), “I only deleted the APP (which also deleted the messages, oops, but that’s actually not my fault).”

      @@unapologeticallyamy9031 no I definitely mean hearsay.. If she's asked to tell the jury what the poem is about, that's speculation. But, her reciting her entire conversations with the victim as her evidence of there meaning, in my opinion is her testifying to a conversation. There's no evidence to support that the things she is saying he told her,.are in fact the way he meant it to be read. Logically I can see where he was going, and I personally think she's wrong, and I don't know how she was allowed to say these things as if they're a statement of fact, when she's the only person alive to retell the story. I think if the journals were going to be allowed in, the jury should have been allowed to take the meaning for themselves and any conversations that the defendant claims took place regarding them should have been hearsay!

    Did she steal her wardrobe from the costume department of stranger things? Lol she never dressed like this before court. Who's bright idea was that. This girl's emotions were all over the place in those private messages and journal writings. I kind of feel as though she was killing him all over again, after indirectly implying he attempted to ()ape her, when we all know she lured him out there alone under the guise of wanting to have some deep talk. Surprised her defense attorney actually thought that was the best recourse to take as a defense. It was a horrible idea. She should have just plead guilty and begged for mercy. Bet she would have gotten a way lesser sentence then putting everyone through this circus act.

      she appears to have taken the person of former witness Jenna Vandezande or some untainted Persephonic ingenue who just got wrapped up with these dark Hades-like figures when they stole away her innocence…sooo bizarre. And her “interpretations” aren’t even accurate to what is clearly written on the paper, very cringey.
      I don’t think a narcissist like her would plead guilty…she really thought she was going home after this.
      Also - nice handle. From homage to “Perfume”?

    Her exbf stated the sweater she wore the day he testified was one he gave her after she was "attacked." Cbs posted interview of ex boyfriend Jason Mengel. The rest of this post is an excerpt from that news article.
    Jason Mengel said, "She just seemed at times to be enjoying it. There were times on the witness stand where she was smiling or joking."
    Mengel was asked by a prosecutor to identify McCandless by an item of clothing and he mentioned that she was wearing a pink jacket. She was but, during a break, she took off the jacket to reveal a green sweater underneath. It meant nothing to most court observers, but Mengel knew its significance; he had given Ezra that sweater when she was hospitalized after the attack.
    "It was emotional to see the games never stopped," he said. "It was deliberate," Mengel told her. "[Ezra] definitely wore that to get a response outta me."
    "It was just shocking," he said. "I don't understand what her tactic was, but I definitely felt uneasy. It just felt like…more of the emotional manipulation I had been put through … I definitely felt like she thought that showing that to me, like, 'This is how much I love you still.'"
