Utilize the pinky (master lights) switch, if you have one, to turn lights on and off for your fencing procedures. It is on the left side of the left throttle and it’s used to turn lights on and off quickly. Ex during carrier launches and takeoffs at night. Additionally, flying daytime with formation lights on is a bit redundant. And you don’t always have to be snuggled up with each other en route. This, of course, if you’re attempting to fly in the most realistic manner possible. Enjoying your content however
I appreciate the info! I am pretty maxed out on buttons. Dont have that Pinky switch, but I know the one you speak of. You can see it in the 18. We know the formations are way closer than they need to be, we are just having fun with it. Do you feel our lack of realism, is taking away from the content? I would appreciate the feedback. Glad you still enjoyed it.
@@general_av8ori dont think it really takes away from content, but here’s something i noticed (btw this is the first vid ive seen from your channel) AFAIK, IRL you would use ATFLIR for your pod of choice if you were doing carrier ops as opposed to LITENING because ATFLIR is more rugged and can withstand the hard conditions of carrier ops better. Since you’re flying with 2 tanks here, utilize the double ugly loadout with ATFLIR. It will free up and extra pylon for weapons and will also allow for LOS with the ATFLIR being on the cheek station. If you’re worried about trim for double ugly (specifically for carrier launch), i have a google sheet that allows you to input weapons and it will give you a estimate on the amount of trim you’ll need for the wings that i’d be happy to share
@ayeitsgerry_5517 That would be awesome if you could share, that has me thinking about making one for the f-16, thanks for the great idea! We only use the lantern because there were issues with seeing targets to be able to detect them (thats all the detail I will go into). The lantern was easier to decern targets from a tree and what not.
@MrWarthog_ I appreciate it! You can do it. Just took a lot of practice. Set up just you and a tanker in a mission and have the tanker fly in a straight line from one side of the map to the other. Practice just formation flying with it. Then try to fuel. Once you get it down, the set a tanker to only orbit, not race track but a circle, once that's down, put it all together!
Thanks! I have been thinking about that. Adding them at the key moments for folks that dont want to see the entire flight. Thanks for the suggestion, and glad you enjoyed the vid.
@edwardbrophy9749 yeah, I was regretting that mistake. Dad made the mission and I didn't pay attention to what time it was. Had it sunk in, I would have packed them for sure!
Yes. You can do carrier ops from the gulf on the new Iraq map. You will fly over the unfinished south portion as you can see in the vid, its bare, but still looks good enough. At least its not all pixelated lol
2 minutes in and I've subscribed already. That cinematic intro already won me over 😍
I appreciate the sub! Glad you like the intro, I enjoy adding a bit of cinematic bits to the vids.
Nice
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great video!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
I was one of those subs! Props to you for AAR at night, i cant even AAR during the day 😂

@MrWarthog_ Appearently, i can't carrier trap at night 😆
@MrWarthog_ if you are down, you can join the dragon riders discord and i can work on AAR refuel with ya
@general_av8or thanks for the advice! I would join, but I got hardware banned so now I can't use discord on any of my devices anymore :(
My version of AAR is to bail out when I run out of fuel 🤣
I’m curious. In IRL carrier ops, do planes taxi into the hanger deck under their own power or are they tugged in?
I do not know the answer to this question. Hopefully someone with experience on a carrier can answer.
Nice vid. Time stamps would be useful.

Why in heck did you not pack NVG's?? 🤔 But otherwise bloody good night flying 👍

@@general_av8orunderstandable 👍
I used to do that as well!
But now I always double check mission start time & probable finish 👍
Again great flying 👏
@@edwardbrophy9749 I am going to have to start doing that as well, lol. Thanks! Wasn't too bad, until the unplanned ditching lol
@@general_av8orman!
Nighttime flying, dark refuel & no NVG'S??
Small detail at the end 😊😊
So is the gulf included in the map available now? I only fly naval ops.

@@general_av8or oh nice! I thought it was just the northern terrain only right now. I'll be purchasing later today!
