Sir thank you for reviewing this at its highest mileage. I’ve been deciding between the Germans and I’m leaning towards MB and I’m pretty sure you’ve just convinced me
Over 127,000 now. Drive it hard daily. Just did a 1700 round trip in just over 2 days. Average speed wayyyy over the speed limit. Car performs flawlessly
Thanks for sharing your experience, really helps. Right now I had 17 w205 with AMG package, which pretty much same spec as yours. Running 25k and it is good.
I’ve had the P205e (PCV) code on my 2015 for about a year now and have been putting off the repair as I’ve read that it’s not urgent and doesn’t seem to effect driving at all. Should I schedule a repair ASAP or can I continue letting it go a bit longer would you think?
2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class · C 300 4MATIC Coupe 2D with 94k mile on it and 1 owner for 20k is that a good deal ? And you think the car will last longer? Thank you
New subscriber here. Recently purchased a CPO 16' model C300 4MATIC AMG/Sport package with 33K on it for the wife. Like you, we put 20K-30K miles on each of our vehicles per year. A little worried about the maintenance, but I've wrenched on cars out of necessity and enjoyment for 25+ years now. Not our first European car (owned aa VW and Volvo in the past). Your how-to/maintenance videos are really positive and will help me to learn some of the ins and outs of maintaining this thing. It's really a fun car to drive and quite impressive. Anyways, looking forward to any other how-to videos you put out. I didn't see one, but did you do one for transmission fluid change?
I have not done the transmission fluid change video yet! Have everything ready to go for it, just haven’t done it yet! Cabin air filters and air filter video coming soon!
"we're not driving an acura here so...." funny bc i just upgraded to this car from an acura TSX... hopefully for the better, but now you have me thinking otherwise about the tires lol

@@TheDurbinCompound wow, I was considering buying a w205 c300 or an audi a4 2017, both have 75k miles with no warranty and 2 owners, what’s your opinion on what I should do? I’ve never had a German car before.
@@TheDurbinCompound Do you have the Humming noise on the rear when you slowing down from high speed ?When you are above 60mph, noise was gone, much quite. I though It was the Wheel Bearing but Dealer said NO, Wheel Bearing is normal. I'm very crazy with that noise.
The only parts I’ve had to replace are the fuel line connectors at the test port and high pressure fuel pump and two PCV valves. PCV was covered under warranty both times
No you didn’t miss the video. I haven’t done one yet. Have a few more tweaks I want to get done. I painted right over the OSB. I didn’t want to deal with drywall and the moisture. It turned out pretty good!
That car is not even old yet! How do you have so many miles on something so new? My 2016 C300 does not even have 35,000 on it yet (getting close to it).
@@TheDurbinCompound Have you had to repair any of the parts or replace any components? (excluding normal wear items like spark plugs and brake pads, windscreen wipers etc etc)
Overall I like the car, besides regular maintenance I have had to get the PCV valve replaced twice, I don't know the price because both times it was replaced under warranty.
As a Mercedes owner of many vehicles, I'd never buy one with a turbo or when the "Americans" got near the company for a while. (The C in C-Class has two definitions. One is cheap, and one is CU....that's it) Car does look nice though and the size is desired. 4MATIC is amazing, but if it goes wrong, great luck. I used to be on BMW, they are awful now
Fuck MB, I had a 2016 W205, 1 month ago to the day (exactly) the engine threw a rod despite only having 87,000KM (around 54,000 miles) on the odometer. The rod ejected through the bottom of the engine block and damaged my turbocharger (cyl 1 piston 1). The cost of the repairs was going to be 15,000 Euro which is practically the value of the damn car. I attempted to contact MB Corporate Customer service to no avail, my car was 4,000 miles over warranty despite my car having excellent service records (all services performed at MB dealerships). I even decided to go full Karen and contacted my local MB headquarters (being that I live in Germany) and my post warranty claim was rejected. MB is a terrible company with equally terrible customer service and they build inferior unreliable junk automobiles. It is not even about the money it is about the principle, I can see why the warranty expires at 5 years or 50,000 miles, that is literally the life span of a Mercedes car. I was not expecting MB to give me a brand new engine for free but my God at least cover 70% of the repairs and I would have taken care of the rest but they refused to even contribute 1 dollar to the repairs. I did not owe anything on it (thank God) so I decided to sell the pile of crap to a junkyard for parts (and recover some value back but not all of what I paid obviously). Leason learned and please lease or buy any other brand besides POS Mercedes-Benz.
I have a 2016 w205 with 45,000miles. Has been running well until just a month back when I had an intermittent CEL due to misfire in cylinder 1. Already just replaced the engine because the dealership said it was an irreparable cylinder damage. Horrible!
My 2016 W205 RWD with the 7G transmission shifts like garbage from 1-2-3 and before and after the fluid change. The 9G is a much smoother shifting transmission and the 4matic is always better than RWD.
The Visitor I bought my 08 c300 with 100k miles... it’s now at 187k only had to change a driveshaft for 500$ parts and labour not bad for 87k miles only having to replace one part. running great to this day and no issues or engine light. Still Shifts gears so smoothly and has all the power it had when I bought it and all cylinders retained over 95% original compression which is damn impressive for 187k miles. Just don’t take the car to the dealer for repair, they quoted me 2650$ for what I found 500$ at buddies shop Also I beat the heck out of this car too... I coulda treated it WAY better. The driveshaft blew cause I was drifting and redlining it for months on end
