Intensive Care Doctor in Scotland here - the process Leila describes in 39:20-40:20 is exactly the process we use in Medicine to train doctors how to master a clinical skill e.g. put in an IV line , secure a patients’ breathing etc.
You can bet that if it is effective in teaching doctors life-saving skills, it is definitely effective in business.

@ Hahaha I’m familiar with that one too. That’s an old method which is now phased out an felt to be increasingly unacceptable due to the high risk of harm and the increase availability of simulation and other teaching tools! What Leila describes here is one of the several teaching methods to master a clinical technique:)

    Enjoyable pod
One thing I really dislike however are overly simplistic examples.
The restaurant breakfast serving times is a classic example of this.
We don't serve all-day breakfast for a reason. Perhaps we need time between service to prepare for the next session, or this is the only opportunity a team member would get a break that day.
The bigger picture isn't about that specific transaction on that day, with that guest, it's the knock-on effect and precedent it sets going forward.
Send the guests away -- ask them to try again during our service times, and they won't be disappointed.
There has to be frameworks in which we operate in order to maximise operational excellence, even if on occasion it means saying No.

Big shoutout to Simon for providing such valuable financial education and more. Right now, I'm working short-term and saving up to transition into entrepreneurship, starting with Rent-to-Rent Airbnb. From there, my goal is to move into property ownership and rental using leverage. Once I’ve built up enough capital and a solid financial statement for the banks, I plan to use debt strategically to grow my capital further. Ultimately, I'd like to secure a loan with a 25% deposit and invest in a gold mine.

That was validating, especially the last part. I've been studying psychology for fun/survival too and at the moment I'm having an issue with two bosses being displaying classic narcissistic behaviour towards all the staff. There's a high turnover of staff, they quit over the bullying. They tried the "love bombing" style to get me to sign a contract, followed by the hot and cold behaviour because I figured out immediately what was happening and I stopped taking the bullying personally, well I'm on week four of the silent treatment and I've been sent to work at home. I want to start my own business because I have a lot of experience and I really want to work somewhere where I'm allowed to be happy!!!!!! At the moment if anyone smiles in the office the boss thinks we're laughing at him and he explodes. My contract finishes in December and they won't renew it. I'm too "difficult" aka I learned psychology and I'm neurodivergent 😅 and an independent woman.
