I was trapped in Mandale lead mine back in 95 I think it was. We entered from the entrance towards the end of the video and ended up needing over 45 rescuers from Derbyshire cave rescue I'm still incredibly grateful to this day. It certainly stirred some memories coming across this video.
Omg wow that is quite a story and didn't expect that on our comments we are both pleased you got out tho and hope it didn't bring to many bad memories back for you 🙂
@@ExploringWithEmAndStu brought back a few took around 6-7 hours to get us out I'm currently writing a book on the whole experience hence how I found your lovely video I was doing some research
Interesting video. We have a lot of old mine shafts here in the States. In Iowa were I’m at we have a lot of old coal mines scattered throughout Des Moines. And as always I learn something about my Ancestral Homeland from you Guys. 👍
Thanks, we don't have too many mines like this were we both live so was nice to find quite a few here when on our holiday, hoping to return in the future to hunt out some more.. thanks for watching 👍
Thank you so much Steve for your lovely comment, we do this because we love visiting these places but it makes it so much more enjoyable knowing that other people are enjoying them too.. plenty more to come in the next few weeks 😊
7:34 You didn't turn the handle? we were there today. You can turn the handle to generate power that lights up the shaft 💡😀 Nice video of my favourite Dale in the Peaks
Been in that way with the caving club it very unsafe and needed public access stop they also cap off the forcefield shaft with concrete and stop acess it is a very dangerous place now and always flooded. The to natural caves in the Dale Lathkill head cave and cables dale also an other mine up adove the toilet at the other end use to be my second home at weekend get more information from museums at matlock bath they have the survey for this mine it call mandale mine been in the top entrance near the engine house also if you like this place check out magpie mine well worth a visit
Yes defo dangerous we would never attempt to enter with out a guide or proper equipment... But can imagine it would be a great experience which we would love to do one day... Thank you for your comments and watching 😊😊😊😊
