Billy Joel has been my favorite singer/songwriter for years now and I haven’t been able to find a cover artist who can do so much justice to his music. Every cover I had ever listened to was either too modern pop-esque for my liking or in a different key than how he originally sang it, but you keep the classic charm of the Piano Man alive with every note, while still adding your own unique touch. Never stop singing Jack! :)

@@PianoManJack Billy never put out a bad album, though The Bridge might be his weakest. Cold Spring Harbour is my favourite because its just a young Billy and his piano, struggling to be musician.
The Bridge is one of my favourites! And there's a few tracks on Cold Spring Harbour I'm not too big on, but it's certainly a big milestone for a young musician. It has some amazing cuts on it (She's Got A Way, Falling Of The Rain, Everybody Loves You Now, Tomorrow Is Today)

Hi jack I was just watch ur ej tribute show and I was just wondering how u were able to get that opportunity because I'm working on my singing and I hope that by the time lockdown finishes I should be decent enough to maybe perform and also did u get to choose the set list
Hey Daniel! It was a lead-up of a lot of events; I started out by volunteering at nursing homes, then did open mics in the city, started getting paid venues and festivals, and then at one of the gigs someone gave word of me to a person who produces tribute show acts. They contacted me and helped me put together the EJ tribute show. (Which, to answer your last question, I unfortunately wasn't able to choose the setlist for).
I would recommend just trying to put yourself out there as much as possible, and to not be afraid to play gigs for free. Because especially near the start, that's usually the only time people will hear about you (in my experience, anyway). Also, what "Brian May's Clog Factory" suggested is a great idea too, another way to put yourself out there directly is by reaching out to venues. Wishing you the best!
