Trinny I live in England and you have been my personal style tutor since you WNTW days. I poured over every word and picture in all your books and completely changed how I dressed when I realised from these that I have stubs for legs on a very long torso. You are so generous with sharing your wardrobe, exercise, skincare routines etc. I work in healthcare and through the pandemic your videos were such a positive treat. They kept me motivated and inspired. You are truly a British and now global institution and I wish you every continued success.
I admire how you don’t put yourself down for previous outfit choices! Instead you honor the time/place/mood of the photograph. You are a GREAT example of the balance needed between self-love and effort!
I’m taking time to get glamour back in my life, turn 50 this year. Lost my mum in 2019 and she was my fashion rock. Watching your videos has made me look in the mirror and pause. Colour, fun and ageless dressing are my goals for 2023!!
I want to dress to feel good in 2023, I have all I need in my wardrobe, I want to have another look and see what made me look good over the years and use that insight. I just turned 48 and starting to think about my 50's. Going full grey with my hair is another thought I have for 2023... let's see 😉

I have been working to add colour to my wardrobe after a lifetime of black. Black for work, black for play - lagging from a pseudo-gothy phase in my 20's. Now I am 54, I know that black will be an old faithful I will return to, especially when outside my comfort zone. I am enjoying making quick sew t-shirt dresses in bright knits, and quirky "cottage core" style frocks to flounce around the garden in, pretending I am gardening. Lol. It's not fashion, but I am finding fun in my clothes again. That is the challenge to dress for joy, not other people. :)
Thanks for all the inspiration over the years. Now, so long after 'What not to wear" I see myself tapping into lessons learnt but not applied at the time.
Everything is stunning and you have always been so pretty. I think it's lovely that you still have so many of the clothes and that you have a daughter to share them with x
I'm going to be making some of my own clothes. Preloved also sounds good.
I turn 50 this year, last year I began to add color to my wardrobe and take pictures of myself when I am dressed. I believe I have started to learn what looks good on me. So my goal is to buy what looks great on me and have fun!

Trinny loved watching this - you are certainly like a fine wine - you continue to look amazing - but most of all - it i your spirit and essence that is very special - you bring utter joy - you really do. Stay fabulous. I am mid 50s male now and always love clothes and continue to do so. Luckily have "kept my figure" lol - or more or less . Recently looked out an old Paul Smith top from the early 90s had it taken in a bit and wore it on New Year getting compliments. Clothes (thankfully) continue to bring me such joy. A lovely girl in her late 20s recently left work and she said to me she would miss what i was wearing each time we were in the office. Another 'young lady who was to me, very stylish herself - would also compliment many of my outfits - e.g. a light gray Ted Baker suit worn with white trainers. I have only discovered you on line in the last year or so, but instinctively I have evolved quite similar to you - the trainers with suits, etc. Sorry for the long reply - however, gist of this is- you are fabulous!

Thanks for sharing such amazing memories!!! The first pic you showed, I believe it was black and white can I just say WOW how much Lyla looks like you and you like her in that pic!!!! I always look at pictures of my younger years and sometimes I could look like that again!!!! But now at 57 I have learned to embrace the women I am today and that is in many thanks to you!!!This year I am going lean into it more and take from my early years the playfulness in my accessories and had bags!!! Also I live the monocromatic look... especially the leapord...might give it a try!!!
Now in my 60s and retired from teaching theater studies, I realized I had a wardrobe full of rehearsal attire and opening night, and nothing in between! I've always loved suiting and jeans (I was a teenager in the seventies). So now, even though I am on the zaftig side, (US 12/UK16 Petite) that is exactly how I am dressing. I like pretty tops with jeans, or rock -n- roll t-shirts with pants suits. Inspired by your trainer collection, I now have a few chunky pairs to ground wider legs, but I still wear ballerinas if the pant is slimmer. I also purchased a beautiful Phoebe Grace co-ord set (the most I'd ever spent before!). And now I am in a shop-your-closet phase, determined not to buy new things in 2023, but to re-invent myself every day from the things I now have. Before embarking on this phase I threw out what didn't fit (my frame or my lifetstyle) and made sure everything was tailored. We should always keep evolving, it's the only way to continue the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!

Every picture was a stunner! I’m 64 and transitioning from a corporate job to semi-retirement (docent, volunteer, tour guide…) and am struggling with revising my wardrobe.Also, while my weight has stayed the same, things have “shifted.” So, my goal is to cull my clothes and find a good post-retirement style.
Try thinking of what activities you will be doing and how you wish to present yourself in each. It takes time to adjust.
I loved these and thought every single one was beautiful. The very first photo you showed I thought it was Lyla’s double! The shape of your face.
I’m thrilled you are committing to circular fashion and pre-loved this year! You are an influencer and for you to model this, so many others will get on board. The carbon footprint of fashion and fast fashion and waste is profound. There is so much we can do to contribute to help ( and reduce landfill, slave wages, water waste, plastic waste, dumping our waste on third world countries that cannot tackle the problem) when we opt for circular fashion. Thank you for showing leadership.

It was so interesting to see all your past photographs. I wouldn’t have recognised the 17-year-old you. I’m also buying pre-loved items from charity shops. I’ve noticed that the quality from years ago is so much better than the fast fashion of nowadays.
I understand what you meant by the ladies who lunch comment about your hair and makeup but I do actually love the make up. You looked very fresh faced and radiant. Great video and I'm looking forward to your project with the Trinny Tribe of their style before and after finding your great, well researched, sound advice. You are like a personal shopper to us all and I find it invaluable. You are the ultimate filter when it comes to online shopping which could otherwise be so overwhelming, exhausting and expensive.

I loved seeing your different looks over time. I haven't bought any new clothes for two years and I absolutely love redesigning charity shop clothes for myself. You give me ideas about how to style them and I also like styling in a bohemian, over the top way. I'm 66 and love reinventing myself!

My plan for this year is a more tailored look and shed stuff I really will never wear again. I guess a bit of a refresh. I got a load of vouchers for Christmas and instead of thinking I must buy something special, I will just get basics that I know I will wear. Happy New Year to you Trinny, you are just fabulous.

My wardrobe challenge for 2023 is actually to get a few women together (online) in a sort of accountability group and guide them through their own personal style development. Together we can build a closet that really works for us and helps us to look and feel our best.

Thank you for this video, Trinny. I remember watching you on BBC and trying to figure out what will work on my body :) My style also changed over the years, because I have been trying to fit in. As a weirdo, that was the way to try to blend in, but I always was out of the box, people always praised me for individuality and sense of style. However, now I noticed I am returning to what I always loved the most - very feminine, classical fashion - and I actually think it doesn't make me look older. I believe it is because I feel the best dressed up. That is what I notice on old pictures and recent videos of you, you always knew what to wear, because you have been dedicated to choose what you feel the best in.
You continue to look fantastic, you have evolved to the stage now where you dress for you and not for the camera or another person, which is great...that has always been my philosophy, though of course I was probably still afflicted with "fashion" stages, but nowadays I definitely where what I feel good in, comfortable, smart and chic without following any trend....look forward to more discussions as we head into 2023
I started watching your channel recently. I can honestly say you are a beautiful person inside and out! I truly feel you do care about people and try to help them feel better and teach them fashion! I worked as a nurse for 40 years and raised my children. Watching your videos has given me the push to step out of my comfort zone for dressing and it is fun! Just turned 60 this Christmas, I can honestly say I want to take a trip to London just to see your makeup store! I've never been to England! One night just couple of days before Christmas I ordered your makeup, thinking I wouldn't get the products after New Year! Well, your products arrived at my front door just two or three days after I ordered them! Before the holiday! I was shocked and happy! Love what I ordered! Wishing you Joy and a Happy New Year!
Trinny, as a professional who collects high fashion, I’d love to hear about some of the interesting designers and why you like them and see some of the most unusual and top quality pieces in your closets. I always listen carefully when you mention brands from your past and then seek them out. You have, and had great style throughout your life and I’m interested in what interesting designers you have experience with. Also, what is it like to grow up as a debutante? For example, you mention dries van noten a lot so when I looked it up I see that designer focuses on beautiful print fabrics. I ordered a piece to check him out. Or some really great British designers. In my head Europeans are just infinitely more chic vs most US designers . Ps I loved that 1920s hair with the dress. I’m not sure why you didn’t like it but it’s totally fabulous.

@Diane Louie I think that really is Trinny's not-so-secret talent! To help reignite OUR self-belief about taking our place in the world - as women. And to feel good about how we dress, how we express ourselves. I fully agree about spending less the more we understand. As per Trinny, I too have said goodbye to three pair of patterned pants recently. Plus a sheer patterned, gathered sleeve shirt. Never worn - it was just never quite right. Plus three (3!) t-shirt tops ALL in a similar shade of pale, mint green. I think that colour was everywhere a few seasons back, and I convinced myself it suited me too 🙈 Good luck with your Refresh.

Be more bold when putting my outfits together even for work especially I am already none for having a big wardrobe 😅and coming to work with a different look every day but I definitely want to push the envelope that much further our corporate environment is casual but smart Monday-Thursday and Friday is dress down sometimes I will put something together and say in my head Leahcar that is to much so its not always listening to that voice of doubt and going for it is my vow for 2023 even trying once you don't know until you try 🤷🏽♀️but Trinny you have been an inspiration for me since you started closest confessions even though I know what I like and I generally don't struggle with what to wear but I enjoy CC, and look forward to seeing them as I know I will learn something every single time and have me mentally going through my own closest to see what I can create what would suit me but thank you, for opening up your closest.

I have recently moved to Florida from Colorado and I’m grappling with my wardrobe. I love the idea of pre-loved clothing and perhaps need to find some shops to experiment with a new style for 2023. I so enjoy seeing you mix pieces…very inspiring!
I have always loved clothes and fashion and the whole creative process of putting things together. What I lovecabout you Trinny is not just your great and immense talent but that you embrace all phases of your life and the continued changes it takes. I turned 70 not long ago and have been feeling frumpy because my body has changed so since I was young and so thin. You help me to try and just embrace who I am now and dress that person and not my former self.
@Lou Anne Ross I loved your comment about how much a part the creativity of clothes and fashion have played in your life. I reckoned that you were in your twenties through the 1970s. And then! I remembered how influential American fashion designers and brands were internationally in that, and later, decades. It was America that really brought 'hippie' looks to the rest of the world - for men and women. Then - Ralph Lauren and his prairie girl looks. Calvin Klein with the first notions of minimal dressing. /My first ever pair of patterned jeans came courtesy of a friend's American Aunt, in about 1972. I loved them dearly, and felt so special and original wearing them. /I hope your 'feeling frumpy' days are fewer now, and that you're back having creative fun with your clothes.

I like your honesty. I felt I always tried to please others with clothes. Either the men in my life, the mother or the shop assistant. I tried animal print for work and some of my young work colleages seemed to be amused. You are stylish and own animal prints beautifully. How do you define your own style? I am sixty and for the first time in my life I don't have any one telling me what to wear. I have gone back to clear out my wardrobe. I found a lot of buys were for others. I am actually feeling more peaceful now that I’m not obsessing about buying new things all the time and am being much more considered which I thinks leads to greater creativity. ❤

My focus for this year is to focus more on vintage, if I buy, it needs to be quality and not 'throw-away', and to commit to falling in love with my closet and getting creative with it as I have so many beautiful pieces.
