- We’re trying something a little different for today’s Closet Confessions - let’s focus on wardrobe organisation. Trinny is taking us on a guided tour of each cupboard and rail in her dressing room to show us how she keeps her clothes and accessories in order, from colour-coding to labelled boxes and beyond. When rethinking your storage space, there’s one key thing to consider above all else - how can you display your clothes so that you can see everything clearly? Follow a few of Trinny’s clever hacks and you’ll never lose a treasured piece in the back of a cupboard again…

I have scarves and boots that are forty years old. I wore a scarf quite recently, (Audrey Hepburn style) which I bought with the first money I ever earned back in 1976. I think it would be considered vintage at this stage. I do cull and purge once a year but there are some things I won’t get rid of; so when I open my wardrobe doors the clothes drip with the fondest of memories.
I’m the same with jackets. Ones I bought new are now considered vintage!
Anything over 30 years old, I think, is now considered vintage
Oh yes-the memories come flooding back with my vintage clothes.
If we all get buried in sequins then we’ll all be skeletons with perfectly preserved sequin outfits on

Trinny I know your focus is on TL, however I feel strongly that if you came out with a core Trinny collection and sold it online the pieces would sell out immediately: the shoulder pad under top, the black belt, the sequin jacket, a scarf collection, etc. No way it wouldn’t be a smashing success, and the approach is so different from other lines.
I'd love all of those and also the navy zara blazer that has texture on it.
Sensory overload!!!! Works for you as you need it. I’m overwhelmed. I’m still trying to figure out how to minimize my wardrobe with basics and a handful of spicy items for the everyday older woman. 🤔You are an amazing woman for sure.

air out clothing is the ultimate hack. hang it vs dumping in hamper. = less items to launder/dry clean. Brilliant!!
Please don’t stop wearing the pale pink or the burgundy with the yellow/blue. I’ve always loved those combinations on you! (As you can probably tell, I watch each Closet Confessions multiple times! 😂) x

I love how you analyse how you look in colour. And how much makeup you need to wear to pull a colour off. You have neutral to slightly warm skin that doesn’t look good in black but looks spectacular in bright warm red lipstick. Grey is a fabulous on you as long as it isn’t too cool. Bright colours are your friend as long as they aren’t too cool. Sounds like Bright Spring to me 😀
This is amazing. I feel so much better now, that I know am not the only one with a label maker and organizing. Unfortunately, I don't have enough space and I got rid of many things, but often it happens that I say "Now, that blouse I discarded would go the best with this outfit!". I really hope we will move soon to a bigger place and that I will have my own room for clothes.

i have a folder on my computer with nothing but pictures of everything in my wardrobe, categorized into more specific folders such as "belts", "scarves" etc. most of them have been photographed on a mannequin to get a feel of how they would look on the body. It helps me a ton when trying to figure out an outfit and i don't forget about the pieces of clothing i don't wear that often but still love
You are so organised - I need to take a page out of your book.
That's what Trinny has on her closet doors. It's a great idea not only for remembering but for culling, like Trinny (if the pics are of one wearing the clothes, of course)!
@@patriciainportland5567 Not exactly the same. I prefer to only photograph a single item and not an entire outfit. I feel it's easier for me to come up with combinations, though i can totally see the benefit of doing so. I also have a pic of litterally EVERYTHING in my wardrobe and not specific outfits. It's all about what works for you, really.
I can't wait until I have enough time to do that thoroughly. I've seen a few apps that help you sort, tag, and coordinate outfits.
@@patriciasalem3606 I use the app Stylebook since last summer. It‘s a lot of work for the start, but I really like the app. I track everything I wear on each day and then you can analys how often you wear something, cost per wear, most used colours and a lot more. You could upload inspiration pics or do looks with your own stuff
Love this tour, I am very positive you could had make this video for one hour and your viewers will watch it without editing. I was happy the entire video but I found myself opening my mouth and starring the closet more were the SEQUINS/ METALLIC tops, dresses, blazers and coats. And definitely you don't have OCD. The success in your life is being you in front of the camera in you very intimate and personal space. Thank you for the tips. I am very visual person so everything hast to be hang up to be able to wear them.

For hand bag structure , I make rolls of tissue from shoe 👠 boxes or from items shipped to me. Sustainable and kind to linings.
Well, feeling very inspired so I am off to Ikea to start the journey to get my closet more organised! At 47 with two decades working for a large company behind me, I have accumulated a lot of quality business attire. I rarely buy anything these days, but want to get a better overview over what I have and how to use pieces in new ways, so this was great timing! Thank you Trinny!

Omg this was my favorite show I have watched of yours. I was just trying to organize my clothes. Recently retired and living in an a-frame cabin now and hanging clothes rods from ceiling everywhere. Oooohhh... I just LOVED this episode! I always have such closet envy when you do a tour like this. I'm meant to be doing something else this afternoon, and now I just want to go organise my stuff and go through my mending basket. I wouldn't get rid of every scarf that isn't a good colour for you (I've made that mistake) if you can turn them into belts. I love the look of white linen trousers with a silk scarf belt and simple top. Shorter ones make a bracelet alternative, so they're not next to your face. Just a thought if you really love a scarf but the colouring isn't so flattering.

I’m glad to hear some good advice. I invest in clothing and I kept a lot of it through the years. I will not part with them. They are my history and if I still fit into them so much the better. They are a lifetime investment and a lifetime friend.

This really made my day 🙂 The only thing that bothers me - keeping the shoes near the scarfs (and clothes in general) and walking through the house with your shoes on 😂 If I was Trinny, I would need to have an additional pair of all my shoes only for the inside, for photo shoots, filming...maybe that's what she actually does because all her shoes look incredibly clean all the time 😂
