Well it seems like Capcom's plans of introducing Monster hunter to a wider western audience is working.
Yeah! I was never drawn to it but I had a lot of fun playing it at PSX!
And then Icerborne came and superceeded everyone’s expectations even more

This made me tear up and I didn't even play World. Just seeing Monster Hunter finally get the long awaited next-gen upgrade, while confirming that the quirky stuff like felynes and crossovers are retained. Perfect.

Look at how happy Kaname watching it while Stars at our back played in the background. After so many years, finally the game that he created with concept that's completely strange for the market at that time. Ended in the world of AAA games.

I'm massive fans of monster hunter, the first time i saw the original MH on ps2 i'm instantly fallen in love with it and i play the whole series including frontier series.. when i see this trailer i was so happy, and now it's a new MH era for Rise

The first game of the new generation will be for the consoles like Xbox and playstation while the 2nd game of that same generation will be for switch/handhelds. It's kind of good for both parties because everyone will get a monster hunter game to play every two years.

Only this time quality of life improvement are made so people who want to get into the game but was turned down by the frustrating system can finally enjoy it. If you still feel like it’s mediocre, maybe it’s just not the type of game for you, but I would still recommend others to give it a try
You probably have not tried the beta then.
The game offers these differences in gameplay:
Environmental interactions to damage/trap monsters
New mount mechanics
Monster interactions
Sliding mechanic
Grapling mechanic
Fast travel
New weapon moves and mechanics
New mantles to use
