Now THIS is how you make a car ad. No talking, no randomness, just the car and the road, some info and stats and good quality sound and cinematography. And of course, a nice looking car. Unlike the 2022 model smh
Thank God Subaru don't do none of that "real people" shit.
Putting a STI wing on a 2022 wrx is like putting a diamond ring on a pigs hoof.
@@STiRiceBaby i like the VB better than the VA. the FA 24 is insane
I saw the wrx up close at a meet the other day and it’s really not that bad, I take back what I said and I apologize ❤
@@STiRiceBaby WRB VB with stock Limited wheels and an STi wing goes so hard
There are more gear changes in this ad than there are in the new fast and furious trailer.
Brandon sever I thought nobody would say something about that haha
yeah but at least they are actually turning and making U turns lol, not a 20 mile straight with 50 gears.
Zcypot Yeah I know, never said it was a bad thing lol. I'm just glad they're still showing off manual transmissions
Zcypot lol true
I was about to say the same.... well more like "Fast and the furious better lookout!" This ad is pretty intense not goin to lie.
People, you need to appreciate that this kind of car still exists this day in age. No matter what good or bad you experienced from it in the past, know that Subaru is still there to offer something that its Japanese competitors no longer produce in a time when everyone else is going green. If no one shows interest anymore, plans and R&D for the new one will cease and never come to fruition. There is a wide audience for this type of car ranging from aspiring elementary kids and retirees with a mid-life crisis, to haters at first sight and lovers over time. Mark my words, there will be a time where the new version will have its hiccups and you WILL be missing this generation and past ones. I love you guys. Bye-bye...
OCTurboJoe well said. Unfortunately some people don't look at it this way.
OCTurboJoe it’s hard to show interest in a $35k car that makes the same power as it did almost twenty years ago.
Fuck Subaru. Hope they go out of business.
ChrisPewKreme yup
No longer ? You can go buy a golf r or and focus rs or a Honda ctr. I don't need to thank Subaru for anything. They make cars with engines as old as the dinosaurs.
@@christopherbarger6112 oh really? that's not gonna happened....
Used his turn signal, good for him.
With how fast he's going, I don't anyone's going be seeing that turn light.
So your mom
It’s only right for us lol
so many angry kids judging the car I bet more than half of em never even driven manual before.
Everyone's asking for more hp but can't afford to buy the car
360 hp the car will cost more than 40000
they start at a little over 35k. but either way there is better cars in that segment unless you actually plan to hit track/rally events. Personally I'd rather get a 230i for that money or a base model SS camaro.
It's 95,000 $ in my country because of tax. Welcome to Thailand.
I live in Canada, the AWD is welcome if you want to drive in the winter.
putt10000 is it baht or is it really dollar the 95000 you said
One of those rally cars with a
1:Great legacy(pun not intended)
2:Amazing performance in rally and track racing.
3:Awesome design
I wanted a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final Edition, but after watching this video I've completely changed my mind... I love the STI!
Im so happy you guys kept manual transmission
Glad the STI and WRX are still going strong. Can't wait to own a newer model one day! Prob my fav car on the market
4 years later the next generation is quite depressing.
Little did we know this was the Last generation 😢

I bought my STI when this commercial was coming out with the new revise 2018 STI and WRX. I love this car and I still have fun! this car is totally worth it, i've had zero issues with my STI and mine still looks like new subaru builds awesome fun cars!
My mom and girlfriend love their WRXs, subaru forever! =)
This convinced me to get my own 2018 wrx in Red. LOVE IT!
Did you get it?
@@manveersingh2789 I had it for 2 years, then traded it in for a 2020 forester. Still loved it, but needed something safer and more practical for them family.
Every time I watch this the hairs on my arm raise in excitement !!
That center diff control tho 😍
FURIOUSLY SMASHES LIKE BUTTON
HOW ABOUT THE HATCH?????
I've got a 2016 sti and I love it and now I want the 2018 sti sooooo badly! Well done subaru looks amazing!
what are the differences? I havent ever sat in a subaru but to me the 2015 to 2019 models look extremely similar to me so it would be cool if you could tell what are the main differences? I'd assume power and suspension would be the main differences with some tweaks to the electronics and the infontainment system...
@@niiphox93 the front end had a face lift
I love the message their giving us, MANUAL !
Both are great vehicles!!! I own a 2011 WRX and I love it! Great handling vehicles and awesome power!!
I love Jdm sports cars, but the wrx sti is among my favourite
Well it's 300hp in japan so what happened and what happened to the front bumper.

Just ordered myself a 2018 STI Limited today! 😍
Neat, where's the hatchback?
I second that!!
やっぱり、スバルはいいクルマを作るぜ!
that shifting is just gorgeous 😏😭😍
it's not as gorgeous irl😔feels so rubbery
I love my sti, it doesn't matter the year they're all fun as hell to drive!
Reyvi Jaimes fun, enough power AWD :)
Meh, still no point in upgrading from my 2005 sti
halo3sn1p3r trade your 2005 in , bro. It's old and you deserve a shiny new car.
05's look so so nice.
Which has an interior from 1995.
Would be dumb to trade it in after all the mods I have done. And I actually prefer the blue og interior. The new ones aren't what an STI should be (in my opinion). Id definitely look into a different company if that is what i wanted
05 still has an EJ257 I thought?
And the sti still has the same engine from the last 2 decades lol
because flat 4
Han Solo after two decades, bro.
edited, thanks :)
the 2.5L flat 4 is a good engine, it just needs a total modernized rework
Heraw Media the new wrx motor is a flat 4...
I"M SO EXCITED! This will be my 3rd WRX!!!!
Very nice video
Bring us a two door version
I'm just here to read all the comments from kid who do nothing but hard park about how the car needs a new engine and more power.
Jeff Eppenger yeah the RS is dope! More hp, more torque, more technology, and way better tires.
Shame that Ford added all that just to still have identical performance figures to the current STI. People keeping saying Ford left Subaru behind.
Not really. If anything, Ford finally caught up
Jeff Eppenger having personally driven both on track (back to back), the cars are nearly identical in terms of lap times. The only time the RS is noticeably faster is when it's equipped the Cup 2 tires. Otherwise, they're very similar.
I'm not saying the vehicle couldn't be improved. I never did. I'm just saying people keep complaining about a lack of power and yet the car is still right there with the competition with dated technology and less power.
Again, the competition has finally caught up. I'm more than happy to see Subaru improve the chassis, but I want a real improvement. That means an engine that doesn't suffer from the same shortcomings as the EJ and a motor that isn't all around garbage like the current FA.
Jeff Eppenger and when you say "gets better MPG", you realize the rated MPG is different by like 2 right? That's hardly an improvement. The Golf R trumps that by another 5mpg.
Jeff Eppenger You're comparing different drivers.
I pulled lap times within a few tenths of each other at Autoclub Speedway on the Roval course. Focus RS had the tire advantage. RS pulls on mid corner and corner exit, but that's pretty much it. STI has more aggressive gearing (hence why it posts same 0-60 and better 1/4 mile times compared to RS). Not to mention the braking on the STI managed better.
Put Cup 2 tires on both vehicles and I bet the STI posts faster lap times.
New engine is rumored to be arriving in 2020 with the next generation WRX/STi. I would prefer they take their time and perfect it rather than rush it out.
It hurts my soul you guys won't change the STi motor, give us a tunable engine that doesn't need a rebuild to run 400whp reliably.
I have a feeling Subaru may be bringing the 22B back in 2020 along with the hatch again..
so all we get is a new bumper and little different interior?
the front end is on both and the bigger breaks, center diff are already on the 2015+ STI. besides the 19 inch rims its all were getting. It would be nice for the STI to get a new engine like the WRX FA20DIT. Still a beautiful car tho nonetheless 😍 😍 😍
I hope they put more torque to the rear like in the older DCCD
they dont have the same but its minor is what im saying. and there is nothing different about the headlights. the grille is different. and a different engine for the STI would be good
If you look the headlight is exactly the same. they might have changed a few things on it but its MINOR thats what im saying. i dont consider it a real change.
The brakes are different. They're not 6-piston front Brembo brakes compared to the old 4-piston Brembo brakes. Also, the DCCD is different in that it no longer integrates a viscous-coupling LSD combined with the multi-clutch planetary gearset, it is now solely the multi-clutch planetary gearset.
We need a boxer6 3.5 twin turbo STI !
2019 it’s here
THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER MADE!
Awesome, but there is a plenty "flat" pictures, like at 1:40 (view inside WRX), seems to be a bad image stabilization on post production.
Happines describe in 1:58 seconds 😍😍😍😍
MGE_XRT lmao
When I test drove the "new" STI a few years ago it was blatantly apparent that the car's handling far exceeded the engine's output.
It should have around 330 to 350 horses.
Easy enough to make that happen
Ecu remap, tune, exhaust, intake, FBOs
Should be out of the box easily 400 around 2012. 475 on 2022. This way no need to worry about warranty.
@@mikadotanh9396 This would require a engine block redesign to get the reliability subaru want for warranty purposes.
Holy shit, that was awesome
I can't wait to get the WRX.
Time to add an extra 100hp Subaru!!
hatchback please and I'm sold.
Its called a Levorg
Hugh Janus the levorg isn't in the US
Levrog/Heatback
Looks nice !!!
Looove it! But where are those fog lights?!?!
Bring back the hatch! Bring back the hatch!
410 Hp please! The time is now!
Is it really that difficult to swap in the 2.0 liter EJ207 engine from the Japanese Sti or do they just choose to ignore it completely?
It's unlikely that the EJ207 would meet U.S. emissions requirements, and the cost to Subaru to certify it for the U.S market would be prohibitively expensive. When you consider that of all the cars Subaru sells in the U.S., only around 2 to 3 percent are WRX or STi sales. You have to consider that the market for sports cars or sport compact cars in the U.S. is really small, and the costs to bring these cars to market is high.
It's amazing. Nothing another words.
Subaru, please give us more power........
I sooooo agree. These need to be 350 hp and 400 hp.
Yeah I dont want to pay $50,000 for a 400hp STI, thanks tho.
I would if they put a better cooling system into the rear diff so it would stop constantly shutting off when it overheats, which is does a good job at doing very quickly, and turning it into an expensive FWD car.
$50K? where you get that number? Subaru WRX are way over priced in the first place. But for THIS price they sell them now, they need more power. That is what we are saying. I could go purchase a 435 hp Mustang for less than an STI. And I just might do that for my next car since these guys and girls are screwing around in the low 300 hp range.
Are you sure it's 50k articles say it's still around 36-40?? Wtf
Bring back the hatch!
Its called a Levorg
Legacy gt wagon
People are putting turbos and dropping the crosstreks just because theirs no WRX hatch lol. Come on bring it back!
I would love a crosstreck with a full sti swap.
MotivationToWin or just drop a wrx engine in a hatch Impreza
Beautiful
The best soundtrack ever
SAME FUCKIN CAR...THEY GOTTA COME OUT WITH NEW HATCHES
あぁ^〜いいっすね〜
What’s the difference between 2020 Wafa’s STI wing VS Premium vs Spec R ?
What a breathtaking ad!
Edwin L. That add made it seem and feel like it got a new engine more horsepower and everything :-)
I love the 6 pot Brembo. That front bumper with big black plastic fog cover looks awful, in my opinion. I don't think DCCD is something they should even brag about. It would be helpful to have AYC similar to what Evo had. And please... 305 hp is not enough these days. Even the Kia Stinger comes with 365 hp.
The DCCD is different now. It no longer integrates a viscous-coupling LSD combined with the multi-clutch planetary gearset, it is now solely the multi-clutch planetary gearset.
From what I suspect, it will probably improve the DCCD response as it will no longer have to go through that viscous-coupling LSD and then have to go through the MPT w/ planetary gearset, and work just off of that. If anything, I'd expect a weight reduction in the transaxle. However, considering the already-robust transaxle reliability of previous DCCD versions, I can't say that it would sacrifice reliability.
This thread may shed some light on it. Do note lots of the info pertains to the 2nd generation WRX STI and especially the 3rd generation WRX STI. The current generation is the 4th generation WRX STI. www.iwsti.com/forums/drivetrain-components/118275-vdc-dccd-si-drive-explained-great-info.html
Be careful when looking at raw HP numbers. Just because a car has more HP does not mean that the overall design benefits from the extra HP. The Focus RS, which is a fine car, has 350HP, but post similar performance numbers as the 305HP STi.
John Smith Why not? It's time to evolve, just like all other car manufacturers. I suppose some people will stay happy at 305hp, but for those of us that took STI's past stage 2, tend to want more reliable power from the factory, with all the suspension bits.
My 2006 STI engine blew up at 122k miles last month and its going to be over 8k to get her running again. But im going to do it. I dont care what anyone tells me, shes worth every damn cent.
Wow that's sick
Ring land failure at 0:27
barnettzack 😁no amazing cr
driftster99 lmao complete opposite. The Ej motors are the ones known for ringland failure. The FA series is known for weak rods, but a fixed issue of ringland failure.
XDDDDD LOOOL ROFL
Nice ) but Why STi still has EJ ?
FA on WRX is better
And Dear Subaru..we need old , like *Bo-Bo-Bo* exhaust ;)
F1Boy you can't have the FA and a "Subaru rumble". The unequal headers aren't efficient enough on the FA...most track STi's swap to equal length headers anyway.
Wow nice subaru !
my stock 2016 sti just got ringland failure in 6 months! never drove it hard without warming up for at least 10 minutes.
this motor needs a recall!
DEFECTIVE!!!
Mathew peconaha oh wow sorry to hear that :( what did Subaru do did they warranty it? I have a 2016 sti 15k miles 1 year old and no issues so far :)
Builds a car made for the track, "do not recommend racing your vehicle." Logic.
Subaru Is the besttt
mateo conti dealers are not. which gives me second thought
This is why I still have this car! No one and I mean no one has offered, a legit competitor! Ford came close with the Focus AWD.
Best commercial i've seen for years
andy tv yeah the commercial was pretty epic I must say.
Bring the hatch back
Still no wagon though...
Where is the subaru brz sti 450hp just missing it in the family if it is going to be crazy
wow the sound design on this is so cool. Who did this?
Bring back the HATCH!!!!!!
Its called a Levorg
Hugh Janus levorg is estate/station wagon. Not a hatchback
Still no hatchback
Brian Patrick Thanks God there's no HB
Are you saying that I'm thanking god or is that a typo? Cause I'm not thanking god.
Neither, it's just I really dislike HB, nothing personal.
I agree with you, I love the hatchback. The sedan for this gen is ugly imo, looks like a sonata and camry had a baby.
Finally!!! The drl are now the c lights
has anyone thought of engine swapping a wrx into an Impreza hatch so you have a hatchback wrx? i wonder why it hasn't happened yet
*rumble rumble
All I saw were six-pot brembo's and slidy slidy
Those brakes, my god.
Legend....
Lol this reminds me of a scene straight from the fast and furious series

and don't think they sell the levorg in the u.s.
Just waiting for a hatchback
Its called a Levorg

Levorg isn't MT though. :(
Very nice, but give us the Levorg with a Rex engine in Asia pls!
once the ej25 is gone, everyone will miss it and be like remember the old days, that boxer rumble.. is human nature lol
I own and do like my '16 WRX, but when people are actually considering Fords as alternatives to your brand, you're doing something VERY wrong. The WRX is supposed to be ugly - all Subarus are - but it's supposed to offer something in return for its mom-jeans appearance, tacky red interior and even tackier wing. The fantastic AWD system isn't enough. It's like Subaru are trying to phase this segment out but can't quite decide. The 268hp of the WRX is good, but let's not stand in awe, while teens in family sedans have a giggle about it as they pass it easily. Whatever pedigree Subaru's honoring, it's just nostalgia at this point. Subaru's outright refusal to innovate is costing them. If VW weren't so utterly moronic about the Golf R (no sunroof? can't turn off traction control? $10k more than they're worth?), it would have made a huge dent in WRX sales. Ford's RS with 350hp is a wakeup call that Subaru seems intent on ignoring. Fords are sure to rattle apart before they're even paid for, and they even manage to make uglier interiors than Subaru - but people want power and they're simply not getting it elsewhere. Subaru had better pray the Tesla 3 doesn't end up being reliable, because it's poised to dominate the AWD market in the $35k-$50k range.
If you want high horsepower, searching in the arena of turbo-4 vehicles isn't the most efficient way to go about it.
True, but more displacement isn't the answer anymore, rather it shouldn't be. If Ford can put 350hp through a 2.3L, then Subaru can too. 300hp has been the neighborhood since what, '95? I think automakers are stuck in a time-warp. They still honor some invisible threshold of what fast was, disregarding what it is now. In this, and many ways, they're not evolving. This is why I have such hopes for Tesla, warts and all. Consumers are still getting unreliable cars and insultingly low mileage warranties. We're paying $1000 or more to get navigation in our cars, when it should either come standard or cost less than winter floor mats. One of the reasons I chose the WRX was the handling. Having AWD is like a superpower here in Canadian winters too. I'm not 16, so whoever gets to the 1/4 mile first isn't my main concern - but 268 crank HP is good, bordering on boring. Mine's a city car so I have the CVT (which should have been a DST) speaking of boring - but I'm not gonna mod something that the transmission can already barely handle. I'm dumping this car before the warranty expires for that reason, but at the moment, I can't see anything in the horizon worth buying until you hit the Audi S6 range, which is a much better car, but just another big engine with an insulting warranty and near-criminal maintenance costs. That's where I'm hoping the Tesla comes in. In 2 yrs when I'm up for shopping again, I hope to see a model 3 in the 450-500hp equivalence range that will finally put these anemic attempts at 'sporty' in the rearview.
I guess you've got a whole lot of requirements to check off in your checklist. 268 HP being boring is massively subjective. Sounds like you either gotta choose a more-expensive option or wait for the market to evolve for your ideal car. Yes, Subaru could shove more power but they've chosen not to as they've historically "underpowered" their vehicles with a chassis that outperforms the power unit. That's been their philosophy and still is. As much as I love Subaru, you should just look at other brands, as power is a much higher priority for you and Subaru's philosophy contradicts this priority of yours.
True, Subaru does seem to be easily outgrown. I love the fact the WRX has a great AWD system and that it handles extremely well for the price - and with the sport-tech option I went with, has all the modern tech and leather seats, etc. It's as close to an Audi S6 as I can get for less than $40k. The STi was actually what disappointed me the most though. Don't get me wrong, the car is fast - but the car succeeds in looking totally ridiculous with that tacky wing, and the power, while ample, has to really be coaxed out of it. Much respect to the drivetrain, brakes and seats though. I just don't see what's so tough about putting say 360hp through the new FSA 2L engine, and boosting the WRX up around 300hp, but with a DST option for those who don't want to be slamming on a clutch all the time. I knew the CVT would be too weak for the WRX, as did everyone but Subaru - but I don't care, like I said I won't be even looking at the car when the warranty expires. I've had no probs with it, but even a Stage 1 is out of the question unless it doesn't violate my warranty. I have great hopes for Tesla taking me closer to the S6 than the WRX does - we'll have to see what batteries they're offering in a couple of years. A ludicrous mode Tesla 3 might provide that 400hp result, I'm hoping.
Baconator James , I think subies are sexy
exact same car from 2015
Does anyone know where the inside ac temperature display is shown ??
so were still using the dinosaur engine in the sti are we?
Those STI calipers look awful. You can pull off highlighter yellow calipers on certain cars, but a WRB STI is not one of them.. The STI is not truly 'newly redesigned' until they put the FA series engine in it.
WRX-300+hp, STI-400+hp or GTFO
cobradaddy than you want is nice but consume of gasoline increase and mucho more. with the sti on 350hp i think than is nice.
No one buys an STI for its gas mileage, WRX could easily hit 300hp and still get mid 20's mpg.
cobradaddy yeah i know, i want than motor with more hp, but i tell than that is the reason, because the car have 305 hp.
I've got my 2017 wrx up to 322hp and I'm averaging around 19mpg.
wow, yellow calipers..nice improvement
Coming from an STI owner . This commercial reminds me of a new iPhone commercial. They will say introducing the latest redesigned iPhone when it looks exactly the same hardware wise.
I prefer the old Impreza's.
me too
