As a father to be and living in pretty extreme climate for most of the year, I’m glad and grateful to have videos much like this one to give me ideas on how to keep my fitness over the next few years! Thanks a bunch Tom!
Super video Tom, love the setup. I spied something like a MoBo board under your feet, which I've been meaning to get too. Best of luck with the season ahead 💪
Really loving this video! Two quick questions. 1.) any tips for transitioning from the roads to the mountains? I’m looking at potentially doing a 10K on the trails in January and then eventually transitioning to ultras. 2.) Favorite Red Bull flavor to drink during runs?
I'm sure you'd prefer Tom answered, but as someone who's made that transition in the last few years hopefully I can help. I'd advise starting by doing small sections of your runs on trails and paying close attention to your footing, it's very easy to twist an ankle in the early stages of trail running since you've not built up the smaller stabiliser muscles around your ankles yet. I'd also advice searching for some trail conditioning exercises, these will normally help prevent the aforementioned injuries and also allow your to improve movement and efficiency. As with anything, build up slow and you'll be enjoying the mountains in no time!
Hi Tom, loving your scientific approach and HUGE congrats on your amazing performances this year! Is there any chance I can ask what brand of ketones you use, and maybe the reason for that brand? I'm looking into experimenting with ketones for performance. Thanks in advance, keep being awesome!
Awesome Tom, thank you so much for sharing your personal trainings. Sometimes I think, "is he giving away too much information to everybody? " I mean, it's great and valuable advice. Anyway, it's very much appreciated and I wish you a fantastic UTMB, I'm sure you can win it this year., we'll be following your race and send positive energy! Quick question if you don't mind, do you ever use the Elliptic machine for training ? And if so, for how long? Cheers and thanks again 🙂
Hey Tom, ive had itbs for 6 months now and feel severe instability in my knee. Ive tried everything but no major improvements. Is itbs surgery a viable option?
0:10 What do you mean take us inside the pain cave? This is barely the front door to the lobby of the pain cave where Zach Miller is putting down the hammer

Phew, I was relieved to see the core body temp probe appears to be under your arm… 😬
