I just moved to a legal state and got my green card 💚💚 so I was feeling particularly nostalgic, I had a Gary ganew doll until I was like 20 something and lost him and all my childhood treasures😢 but my whole family ( 4 kids under 8 ) some mine some fosters but all safe so I am grateful but I do miss the pictures/videos of my children when small and my childhood things
This theme song is why I obsessed about drums as a kid and why I became a musician. Thank you Anne Bryant! You and Spencer wrote one of the most iconic theme songs of my childhood.
I just started high school when this show first aired and yes...I still watched it. :) Probably because it reminded me of earlier fun shows from when I was actually a kid, The Banana Splits being the most similar.
omg Facebook made me UA-cam this, droplets of faded memorabilia is slowly returning. As i remembered some of the Muppets, I had to have watched this as a toddler (born in 78). Thank you for this❤❤
I was watching a video of someone saying he was only going to be reporting on "good news" today, and somehow Gary Gnu popped into my head, something I vaguely recalled from my early childhood, so I looked it up. I would have been about 3 in 1981 and have no recollection of this show even existing. I thought it would have been from something like "Pinwheel" or something like that. Wasn't even aware of a show called The Great Space Coaster until now, although I'm sure I liked it when I was 3.
Oh my god…THIS IS REAL!?!? For the last 40 years, I’ve labored under the delusion that this opening was IN a movie or show I saw as a kid. I had no idea it was it’s own show until right now. May 2 2024… I’m reeling…
I haven't seen a clip of this in so many years. Man I wish I had them years to live again. Only this time as my middle aged wiser self. Seems like last week.
The BEST kids show EVER ! Do you know where I can purchase copies of the show ? I would love to show it to my kids. EVERYTHING for kids on tv today is TERRIBLE 😢
One thing I noticed about these older shows: Amazon, iTunes, etc (Mostly Amazon), buy all the copies of every episode of these older shows, and then charge $1.99 to watch them in their platforms so we cannot ever own them ourselves and have to pay them to watch them. We need to try and buy our own copies before Amazon etc snatch them up from us having something to share and pass on to our children !
I really love this TV series because I was done a young boy when this television series aired back on WKBS channel 48 during the early 80s nearly 40 years ago because I remembered CMT introduction which shows an animated space coaster flying through the galaxy and picking up three human cast members because I remembered a man known as Ray Stevens who wants played in the series who later on did a single on Stephen King‘s Cat’s Eye Movie Because I have that video montage on my computer and on one of my listening devices because you know why, why it’s the great space coaster get on board on a great space coaster, off we go.
My cousin Joanna was 4 and we watched this in the morning in Jamaica Queens NY summer 1981❤️ It’s 2023, who’s watching?
2024 and it's fun to revisit one's childhood 💙
I watched this every morning before school!!!
It came on after school were I lived
Yup
What a great time we live in to be able to search our childhood favorites and relive our youth if only briefly sigh....
Absolutely no doubt, it's great I'm watching it now lol 😊😂

Gary Ganu looks like the guy who sang "Hungry Eyes". Eric carmin
This is my childhood for real….I miss shows like this
good memories.. I forgot I used to be a kid once. Thanks for uploading this piece of treasure from my childhood.
Goriddle Gorilla was always my favorite character. Voiced by the same guy that does the voice of Elmo believe it or not (Kevin Clash)
One of the greatest TV theme songs ever!! Loved this show when I was a kid. So good to see this again after all of these years.
It's a good theme song, but Fraggle Rock is better. 😁

THIS WAS MY SHOW GROWING UP IN ILLINOIS. USE TO WATCH THIS ON CHANNEL 32 WOW WHAT MEMORIES THIS IS.
This show molded my sense of humor, along with sesame street and the electric company. Makes me feel 3 years old again.
Omg. I thought I made this up as a kid. No one I know remembers it. Gary gnu!!!
Only we do
I watched this before heading out to my bus stop during my grade school years. I loved it.
Same ✔️
Me 3
So did I.
I would watch Speed Racer before heading out the door.
Memories! I am now 45 and can remember stating home from school and watching this
I had the best childhood ever. We had the best tv shows. I just started singing this song this morning, out the blue.
That's what brought me here lol. That song was stuck in my head 😊
Oh my god, you have no idea how much my child inside is squealing right now. I am so excited to watch this and happy I stumbled upon it. Thank you!❤
I wanted Roy's pocket video player soooooo badly.
Still watching this in 2020, and I'm not even in my 20's.
I'm born in 1973
Bronx Ny
I used to watch this before school
I remember the theme song and
Gary Gnu
WOW, WOW, WOW!! What a great show this was. Simpler times oh how I miss my childhood days. Thanks for uploading this GEM.
The little portable TV with a memory card was science fiction in 1981. But now, it's called a smartphone.
And a smart-watch or smart-eye-glasses.
I still want that style
This theme song is why I obsessed about drums as a kid and why I became a musician. Thank you Anne Bryant! You and Spencer wrote one of the most iconic theme songs of my childhood.
An absolutely cool show!!! I miss those days.
I use to watch this show all the time and I’m glad to see it here on UA-cam and I hope it will be out on dvd some day
I loved this show soooo much as a child!!
RIP Valerie Harper (1939-2019)
What does Valerie Harper have to do with TGSC?

Thanks for uploading this. I haven't seen this in forever.
Thank you for bringing back another piece of my childhood, especially when so many of the celebs who were part of it have passed. #70sbaby80skid
Gah, I loved this when I was 5! Watched it on our box tv. Life was good.
I remember having to get up to turn the dial. Now I have to take five minutes to find the remote. 😖
I just started high school when this show first aired and yes...I still watched it. :) Probably because it reminded me of earlier fun shows from when I was actually a kid, The Banana Splits being the most similar.
Watched this wayyyyy back in the day!!
Remember this back in elementary School

I remember watching this a a kid I would sit in front of the TV between 2pm to 2:30pm 80s life
I know this is one of the reasons why I’m an artist and love all kinds of old(er) animation.
Thank You.
I miss being a kid in the 80s. Life I wouldn’t trade it for anything in today’s world.
You and me both.
So awesome to see this.... remember watching as a kid
This was what I bridged over to watch as I aged out of the Sesame street years in the late 70s...
RIP Valerie harper. Such a beautiful woman
I would never have remembered this show existed without it being posted here.
I laughed so hard I cried,very funny 😂

Oh my god…THIS IS REAL!?!? For the last 40 years, I’ve labored under the delusion that this opening was IN a movie or show I saw as a kid. I had no idea it was it’s own show until right now. May 2 2024… I’m reeling…
Kevin Clash was a terrific puppeteer. On the great space coaster and Sesame Street.
Nostalgic! Love this show.
I TOTALLY forgot this show❣️ I actually must have taped this episode and learned it by heart❣️
wow , I saw this as a Kid !
Thanx to my older sister I know some of this cuz I was 3 when this came out. Oh and of course Family guy
I remember Fame tv show, Welcome Back Kotter and The Warriors everytime I see this show
I'm 50 and watching it right now😆
At 11:06 when I was a kid, I used to dream about have a gadget like that. Now everyone have one. Lol
I might've been too young to remember watching this as a kid, but it looked pretty cool. See, I was born in 1984.
Trying to watch this before I had to head to school, loved this as a child!!
OMG! Great memories!
Take me back to when I was 6 wow 1983❤
I haven't seen a clip of this in so many years. Man I wish I had them years to live again. Only this time as my middle aged wiser self. Seems like last week.
I miss watching this show when I was a kid
This is GENUINE LEGITIMATE work of art!! Not like those UA-cam and widescreen and fast-paced cartoons and s$%@ these days...

even IMDB only knows of 2 episodes of THIS series so far. Not on Amazon either, no dvd collections I know of.😢
This is quite clever and well written
The puppeteer for Goriddle is the same puppeteer for Elmo
Roy was the cop in The Village People.
Wonderful memories
Did anyone else covet Roy's pocket TV when they were little?
They were way ahead of their time with that pocket video display. I wonder if that thing had any influence on the development of smartphones.
Little did they know that one day, we’d all have in our pockets devices on which we could watch movies.
Grew up on this
I remember watching these shows and also 3.2.1 contact
This was my show as a kid. came on like 5am.
This is the future and I love it!
I noticed there was a pinwheel cartoon short in this video about the caterpillar that former Nickelodeon show that similar to this show
WWWW they almost invented the World Wide Web 😂
Wow great memories i miss those days 😔❤👍
MAN do I love Closed Caption lol.... " get our Lord on the Great Space closer we'll explore common bride and fantasy.."
We use to call a child good friend whose name was Gary..Gary Gnu
One of my favorites as a toddler
I used to watch this before going to camp.
A scholastic/entertainment masterpiece!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My childhood favorite tv show. Watching a black and white tv
I remember Goriddle singing about how loud he played his Boombox.
"I turn up my radio & let it blaaaaaaaare!"
I had this on CED when I was a child
5:55 Kevin Clash telling the other arm puppeteer to shut up 😂😂
Lol I caught that!! I replayed it with the CC on but it didn't catch it
@@randalgelking7329😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
if i only had a time machine....Doc!!!!!
i would have been Bout 6 when this aired, but all i remembered was Gary Gnu and his "no Gnews is good Gnews"
I had been trying to remember this shown for a long time and all I could remember wad the elephant.
I didn't know Roy was a member of the Village People RIP
A thrill ride for the young.
RIP Ray Stephens and Valerie Harper
Sounds like Eugene Levy as Gary Gnu. I kinda picked up on that as SCTV was on in the early 80's too.
I think this was the home video release from MGM/UA. I had seen this before.
Had to search for this when the saying popped into my head “no gnus is good gnus with Gary Gnu”
Good old day everyone am 47. 2022
thank u
