Omg finally someone explained Dolphin Brooch and Strange Pregnant in a way I can understand. I've played this game for years and just ignored them. You're a lifesaver🙏
By comparing the footage, it does look like Art of Defense does halve the time spent flinching after attacks. Use the , and . keys to move through the footage frame-by-frame, and count how many distinct frames there are from getting hit to being able to move again. 4:25 With the Art of Defense, there are generally around 5 to 7 frames spent flinching. (About 1/6 to 1/4 of a second.) 9:47 Without it, there are generally around 10 to 15 frames spent flinching. (About 1/3 to 1/2 of a second.) See, in that latter situation, you might have been able to escape their combo if you'd had Art of Defense! ...But considering it doesn't seem to help against stun and knockdown, I dunno if it's really worth an accessory slot. It is something, though!
Thank you very much for the video! Just binge watched your whole series on crafting and I gotta say - the crafting system in this game is incredibly impressive. Gotta wait for that cooking video haha, although I do believe it works similarly - crafted dish inherites bonuses from edible items/dishes/medicine added to the base recipe. Wow, I didn't know it was named after a Frontier character! Now I feel like a fake fan... just kept thinking of Annette from Fire Emblem and her Movement Rally...
@@dreamingsuntide1 Frontier and Ocean. She's a lovely girl and you'll understand the creating dust as you walk after meeting her. I strongly suggest to at least watch videos about Frontier. Thanks for the video. The crafting mechanics in this game are unreasonable extensible, which is why I like them. Hand-Knit Scarf reduces crafting RP by 1/16, Fluffy Scarf by 1/8 and reversed fatigue halves the amount used after calculations. In RF5, they made reversed fatigue lower it by 1/16, for a total of 1/4 reduction. Dolphin Brooch actually shares its effect with White Stone, and can simply be present in any piece of gear, meaning there's no need to use an accessory slot for it. For some reason, this effect can benefit the player, but ONLY if they are unmarried. Weird. You can't get No Res 10% on most accessories, so the effective reduction is actually 70%, but as a silver lining for only 5% that frees up 4 slots on your accessory for other things. My favorite accessory is Talisman, hands down. It restores HP, RP, reduces RP used for most things, increases movement speed, and essentially makes me immune to statuses I'd otherwise have to use upgrade slots for. For me, it's better than Anette's necklace-I just cook an object x into a boiled pumpkin to avoid RP loss. Also, for some reason reversed paralysis makes you move faster than [the fastest mount with the Rider's Mark] in RF5. Sure. Oh, and just to make us all sad: Strange Pendant doesn't nullify monster defense in RF5. Guess it was a bug? I also never really bothered with Strange Pendant, but considering all magic already heals you end game, you'd be healed for more and only have to worry about physical attacks; and that would free up my ten-folding crit for something else.
Thanks for the insights (though I'm a bit hesitant about RF5 stuff here, I imagine many people might not want to hear much about it yet). What do you mean about No Res not being accessible on most Accessories though? What's stopping the effects there?
@@dreamingsuntide1 Noted. I'll stop mentioning it since it's not out yet in English. About No Res: I just noticed that it doesn't actually apply to many accessories, as the ones I tend to make don't allow it to apply. Actually reverse fatigue does kinda half crafting RP, it shows the RP required the same as without reverse fatigue but after the resulting craft is when it seems to half consumption. i actually made a diamond brooch with the effect of the hp regen accesory the magic charm and the happy ring and i use it on myself and all party members its terrifying

Another fantastic, informative video! Bless you and your sacrifice from the 'dying throat' to make this for us, thanks! I actually had discovered the Talisman's usefulness at my stage and the speed and regen is so nice if you can be bothered to maintain the status effects.
