    It's rare to get a video that is EXACTLY what you needed to know, with just the right amount of context. I feel like a boot expert. Excellently done.

    [Shoes and accessories] in this game was always one of my favorite bits of micro-managing-what with deciding which ones to jam together. About the movement speed: the magic Greeting Spell can be used to interrupt the lag of a dash, and vice-versa for some unreasonably quick and responsive movement even early game. Combining these with Strider Boots makes keeping your distance from bosses pretty trivial as long as you have a quick attack. If you're looking for passive speed though, the reversed paralysis effect on a Talisman can stack with Ghost/Rocket/Anette for breakneck speeds.

      Oh my god I did not know that about Greeting Skill, and that's absolutely hilarious. A quick test with Ice Skates also makes your dash go incredibly far... it's basically Wave Dashing from Melee. Thanks so much for telling me that!
      And yeah, was definitely gonna show off Talisman in the next video c:

    Great video as always! One of the strategies I'd use with wet boots is to walk up to a boss, quickly switch to them, deal some damage and then run away.

    • @dreamingsuntide1
      @dreamingsuntide1  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks!! And ooh, I guess that could help you deal a decent bit of damage. Does seem like it might get a bit tedious to just keep on doing that though...

    The characters feet and shadow moved up as well when you equipped secret shoes. It might be more accurate to say that it makes you appear slightly further north.

    Using the wet boots you too can feel the anguish of tripping in competitive Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I feel you're kiiiinda underselling the snow boots, whilst they're not good after the Sechs Empire I do think that you should use them for that area whilst they're relevant. And also, I've played Yakuza 0 with the Mew Slippers, I'm fine with using the Piyo Sandals here.
    Thank you for another great video and I'm looking forward to the accessories video next!

      lol I love and hate that smash bros comparison---too much brawl ptsd now
      And yeah, I guess the snow boots could actually be pretty decent for getting through Sechs. I guess this is a bit of Longsword bias though, since I never found the slipping and sliding there to be too much of an issue. But then again, I think I did find the sliding and the ability to just move around while attacking to be a bit fun I guess, so maybe I'm just a bit weird : D

    Very good explanations! Thanks for this.
    I was hoping for a bit more information about the stats. I still don't have much experience with the game, but last night I attempted to get the sleep resistance of Chocolate Sponge onto my piyo sandals but I was unable to get them to take the stat despite being a defense stat (status resist). Is the upgrading or crafting of shoes following a different set of rules, or are they perhaps utilizing some unspoken rules?

    • @dreamingsuntide1
      @dreamingsuntide1  3 роки тому +1

      Oh, oops. That should just be because Chocolate Sponge is food, not an upgrade material. Food is different and just gives you temporary stats for a while after you eat it (and now you're making me wonder if I should do a cooking video after this...).
      Shoes should upgrade the same way, that should be the issue. The eating effects are listed as just [Effect], while the Upgrade Effects appear after [Upgrade Info] in game. If you want Sleep res, then you're probably best off using Broken Boxes/Autumn Grass/Left Rock Shard.
      As always, thanks for watching and enjoying the video though!!

    • @Mackenzie89
      @Mackenzie89 3 роки тому

      @@dreamingsuntide1 Ohh, so food can't be used - that clears up a ton of confusion! So look for Upgrade Info, thank you so much for explaining. (Would not be against a cooking video).
      I've only just entered the first summer and unlocked the autumn area, so I still have very little flexibility in the diversity of what I can upgrade into my equipment, so you can say that the chocolate sponge was purely experimental after finding it in a loot crate and getting hit and put to sleep by the turnip monsters in the Yokmir cave a lot xD
      This video cleared up so many unanswered questions I had from the crafting/forging videos - please keep up the great work and content!

      @@Mackenzie89 Haha, well some raw ingredients, which you can eat, can be used, but... yeah. Just check it to be safe, I guess.

    The reason Was is Correct is The Statement Would have read THE ITEM, (Name of Item) Was used in this... the actual name does not have an influence on the was Cause the word Item overrides the Subject

    Never did tinker around with the free farming shoes during my 3ds playthrough, I'm guessing it doesn't play well with giant crops?
    Also would like some people to do some confirmation on cooking/crafting/forging/pharmacy, I've had cases where I've made 10s (no apparent limit) of items with the 25% hp cost and no failures (perhaps I had the same or higher skill level as the item?) and I had cases where at max, I could make 2-4 or 5 items at a time, any more and it's a fail. Trying to figure out what causes this.

    • @dreamingsuntide1
      @dreamingsuntide1  3 роки тому

      It plays "fine" with Giant Crops - four of them combine together to form a Giant crop, although it seems a bit random which ones do become giant. Worst comes to worst, you'll still get your giant crops, you might just get some normal crops next to it as well.
      With RP usage failures, to my understanding all that's important is that the cost of your crafting needs to be under your RP max. If it is, you can make any number of things - so if you have like 1001 max RP, and making something cost 10 RP, then you can make a batch of 100 items and still succeed (and lose 25% HP if your current RP is less than 1000). This even works if you're on 0 current RP, so you can keep making batches of 100 items until you find yourself at Nancy's/Jones. The moment the cost goes above that max RP (so if you tried to make a batch fo 101 items), every single one of those will fail though.

    Hmm so I may have Fed up on my shoes I just slapped Fairy boot, Ghost shoes and Rocket Wing onto a Fast Step shoes which is not what I need but I need Fairy Boots as an end result that has the abilities of Fast Step shoes-ghost shoes and rocket wing

    • @dreamingsuntide1
      @dreamingsuntide1  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah that's almost there - the fairy boots just have to be the "final item". So proper sequence would be to 1) make Ghost Shoes and Rocket Wing, 2) make Fast Step Shoes and put Ghost Sheos and Rocket Wing in, and then 3) Make Fairy Boots with those Fast Step Shoes in

      If you haven't caught up yet, I think the main "new" things that I think popped up since you've been gone (and I'm most proud of) are: The documentation of the Staff charge attacks in English; Finding out how range increases work and max out; and Figuring out you can use Magical Shield with Elem Resistances just by changing the appearance of the shield. Otherwise, yeah, most of the stuff in these videos have been restating a lot of the things found out by you/Omni/posted through the internet.
