I always loved "Winding Me Up" I think it was used as a TV outro in the 80s, too. Hard to choose, but Turn of a Friendly Card is probably my favorite APP album.
"I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" is a big favorite -- rockin' pseudo-disco from the 'I Robot' album. My only complaint is it's too short; but still a great tune.
I still remember The Alan Parsons Project "Days Are Numbers (The Traveller)" was the first song I heard played on the radio that was on a CD. I remember the DJ announcing it just as I pulled into my driveway. I sat in the car and listened to the whole song, and still remember the DJ saying it was "coming to you loud and proud."
Not sure if you guys knew, but Alan Parsons started working at EMI records at age 16. He engineered on many famous albums, including Abby Road by the Beatles and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon
The Alan Parson Project has a concert DVD out called The Alan Parson Project Live In Columbia. It's probably a decade old but it's great and I think it's on UA-cam. In that concert, Alan Parson himself sings this song.
Yes, Eric Woolfson sang the song but of course sadly passed away in 2009. Just before he died, Eric recorded a solo album of unreleased Alan Parsons Project songs.
There is also a live in the Netherlands! We watch that video every single week, I think my husband may get tired of it, but he does it for me! The traveling group is so awesome! Some people say that Alan Parsons cannot sing, but that is not true!❤❤ Glad you love their music!❤❤
Thanks to Jay and Amber! ෴ I love this song as I do several of theirs. My favorite from The Alan Parsons Project is "Time" from 1980. It was used in a beautiful and gut-wrenching movie a few years ago... A FANTASTIC WOMAN (2017). 💎
The solo was I beleive by Mel Collins who contributed great sax work in King Crimson and many other English bands during that era. "Dancing on a Highwire" and "Pipeline" are two other favorites from the same album that produced "Don't Answer Me".
These two are the best reactions on YT. I love how they listen and discuss the music, many of them I grew up with. Thank you for your reviews and feedback.
Alan Parsons worked with other artists including producing Al Stewart's Year of the Cat. It was Alan's idea to include the saxophone that was not originally in the song
"If I Could Change Your Mind", "Silence and I", "The Traveler", "Same Old Sun", and, for an absolutely SLAMMIN' instrumental, "Where's the Walrus". Take your pick, they're all awesome.
Even I myself, being born in 1955, was too young to vividly remember the film noir of the late 1930s and throughout the 1940s, this terrific comic strip video captures the feeling of those intense dark, romance/violent dramas exceptionally well and was a perfect concept for this equally exceptional song from The Alan Parsons Project!
I can't believe all these years I thought this was Air Supply! 🤣 Great song & APP have many others. I love that it literally was a "project" with so many different session musicians.
Old and Wise is another good song by this group. Most everything they done was good. This takes way back to high school. Eye in The Sky was my favorite album back then. Just something to just kick back and listen to and just daydream
It's worth digging more into The Alan Parsons Project as their albums feature many MANY different vocalists. The main band was made up of members of Pilot (who you've probably heard their hits "Magic" and "January"). Ian Bairnson was also the guitarist doing that wonderful outro solo on Kate Bush's breakout single "Wuthering Heights".
I wish you could do In the lap of the gods from Alan Parsons Pyramid album but the only time I saw somebody try it, it was blocked. It's one of the best pieces ever written! This was a good one.
" The Tell Tale Heart ( 1987 Remix )" and " The Cask Of Amontillado (1987 Remix ) by THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT these 2 songs sre top of the line Rock & Classical blend youre gonna love these , theres Horn 📯 section too 🎸
Oh yes, I love this band, so good!👍 I have a great suggestion: “ Into The Night “ by Benny Mardones! You guys will love this song, he’s got that gritty voice, beautiful song!!👍👏👏👏♥️♥️
Brilliant group - I love how you are reacting to them again. Alan Parsons was the sound engineer on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Amazingly, they never had a Top 40 hit in their home country of the UK. Other great songs include Time, Silence and I, Ammonia Avenue, Games People Play and If I Could Change Your Mind (with female vocals).
This is one of my favorite songs and videos from 1980s MTV era. Growing up Gen X, watching videos while listening to the song is something we enjoyed, they often made the songs even better. (Perfect example is Phil Collins "Don't Lose My Number. If you haven't reacted to, please do.) But I understand where multitasking may be difficult since you grew up when MTV stopped showing music videos.😢
The whole sound of this song was their tribute to the Wall Of Sound production of famed 60s producer Phil Spector. Just listen to Tina Turner’s original version of River Deep Mountain High and you hear that same cavernous production.
The Alan Parsons Project- one of the greatest bands that ever existed. If you guys liked "Don't Answer Me' then you'll enjoy "Prime Time" as much or more. It's all guaranteed: "Step by Step", "Gemini", "Winding Me Up", "Don't Hold Back", "Children of the Moon", "Old and Wise:, and "Day After Day" as well as the more usual suggestions.

Love your Chanel. Please Please do The Traveler/Days are Numbers next. Makes me happy and sad at the same time. Lots of saxophone, extended cut has more instrumental at the end. I'm surprised more people haven't requested it yet
You should really react to “If I Could Change Your Mind” on the “Eve” album from Alan Parsons Project. It is a beautiful song that Amber in particular will love. The singer is Lesley Duncan so you could react to it on Female Friday!
Okay I know it is nothing to do with this genre but I know you love both the works of Disturbed and Ann Willson so you should check out “Don’t Tell Me” By Disturbed Featuring Ann Wilson.

@@byerenny They are an amazing British band but weirdly, never had any hits in the UK. They only released 2 singles there - Don't Answer me (No. 58) and Old & Wise (No. 74).
Great choice. But like others, Time is a beautiful piece of music worth checking out. Also, for another nice APP sax solo like this one, listen to Days Are Numbers.
if they ever start doing full album reviews, Turn of a Friendly Card should be on the short lists. Some albums are simply made to be listened too in full, in one sitting.
I would like if you could please do a reaction video of "TIME" that my late brother who really loved this song and I think you guys would love it too!!!!!
I am saying it again that the song that you need to listen to from the Alan Parsons project is I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You. I would be shocked if you were disappointed with that somg.
Talk about a song that has flown totally under everyone's radar! I remember the video for this used to play back in the early 80's on TBS's weekend music video show called "Night Tracks"...I love this song.
If you continue with more from The Alan Parsons Project, be sure to react to "Sirius" and "Eye In The Sky". Those two are meant to be played back-to-back.
Alan Parsons Project is one of my 3 most favorite bands of all time....right up there with The Moody Blues and the Bee Gees. I have their whole collection.
The Alan Parsons Project has a great catalog. Their first album, Tales Of Mystery And Imagination, is based on some of the poems and tales of Edgar Allan Poe. Check out Doctor Tarr And Professor Fether and The Raven. Alan Parsons used a vocoder on The Raven. Some other suggestions are I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You, Some Other Time, Breakdown, Don't Let It Show and The Voice from the I Robot album. Also listen to One More River and Can't Take It With You from Pyramid and You Lie Down With Dogs from Eve. Another rabbit hole to go down. Enjoy!
My 2 favorite Alan Parsons Project songs are 'Damned If I Do' and the stunningly beautiful 'Days Are Numbers (The Traveller.') I hope you'll give one (or both) a listen.
Great underrated group. Also check out:
"Sirius", "Time", and "I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You'.
Time and The Raven would be good too.
I'm 57, and "Time" definitely hits different now than it did when it came out.

This was another great group from the 70s 80s !! Another great song is " Old and wise"
Chokes me up every time, but the lyrics and unique sound are well worth it.

That’s not true! Those or just unsubstantiated rumors. The true story is Dr. Evil named his mission and named it after Dr. Parsons
Time and La Sagrada Familia - epic!
The instrument that adds that repeated sound is the Spanish castanets, also on La Sagrada 😇
Alan Parsons symphonic project live is fantastic "Time" is one ya'll should hear. Live!! Love this song!!
One of their more underrated hits, I think. Have always liked this one because of the melody and tempo, as well as the art work of the video.

Definitely some more good songs to do. “I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You” should be next.
Their song, Games People Play, is unbelievable, especially for the time in which it was made.
This song utilizes the popular mid sixties sound effect called "wall of sound" which gives it that kind of haunting, full-echoey sound.
This is one of my favorite songs from them., and this video is fire
To me one of the greatest Alan Parsons songs is Pyramania !! Love that song. ❤❤❤
