I love how he wasn't even bothered or mad at them for trashing his place and trying to snoop in his safe. He was more bothered by the fact that he missed out on some serious fun and the fact he wasn't with Chloe on her birthday.

THere is something very "Squad goals" about lucifer coming back to his house and finding all his closest friends passed out in his penthouse. Was cute, lool he checked ot make sure they were alive first.
Cheezeblade Lol I loved that. I like how he and Dan are friends now, but if you mention that to either one of them they'd both be like "we are not friends!" I want another episode where they get to team up. A friend is writing a fanfic that has Chloe breaking an ankle and not able to work on the case, so Lucifer starts following Dan. I told her it would make a great episode. I guess I'm team Douchifer, who knew?

Grumpy Old Gray Metalhead I actually think he started calling him Daniel in 2x07 after they talked after the improv show. They kinda bonded over their mutual insecurities in that episode. However, I do think in the episode they were trying to save Chloe, they developed a reluctant, mutual respect for each other. It’s the episode they both realized the other would do anything for the one they both love.

Good point. At 3.03 when he explains it is the bullet they both look choked up for a moment, especially Chloe. She still feels guilty about it and for him it is about his vulnerability and how he has come to accept it for her. So sweet

What I love about Tom Ellis is that when he plays Lucifer, he plays a delicate role of a charming, arrogant, flamboyant devil hiding a vulnerable, defeated and broken human. It's like a single tipping point would send him off the edge, and when Chloe hugs him, he's slowly and gently healing. He loves her and she loves him, and the beauty of all of this is that they both allow themselves to suffer thinking it's the best path for the other.
Their souls are connected in some way. Lucifer is vulnerable when with her and Chloe, although we don't see it, I am sure she feels a very strong pull when around him and is why she likes being with him. Inside Chloe's soul, something happens to her when around Lucifer and I think it makes her more intuitive and stronger. Unfortunately, this scene says volumes about them hooking up. I don't think it will happen anytime soon because they are now both scared to hook up and what that could mean. It will be a while until they kiss again.

I could not agree more. Their chemistry is the greatest in today´s TV hands down and Ellis is able to give his character a complexity that´s truly fascinating. Deep inside, he´s like a child pretending to be a confident playboy.
I dont think people acknowledge enough that Lucifer has kept the bullet after so much time has passed

Exactly that's why it was behind the wall
He kept that bullet for 2 years, having no idea what to do with it. but he kept it safe and secure. for a guy that has no security and a massive amount of physical wealth in his penthouse, the only thing that was hidden and kept safe, the only thing that was truly priceless to Lucifer in his own home, was his gift to Chloe.
Which is also hidden behind the portrait he brought in order to save her life, which he keeps in his bedroom by the way, directly in front of the bed, it's a reminder to him of what he almost lost, and everyday he wakes up he gets an instant reminder of Chloe through that painting as well as being a reminder of the fact he went to hell and back for Chloe.
He's the biggest softie ever when you really consider a lot of his actions, he really wants to treat Chloe as special as he see's her, although she'd never understand the significance of half the stuff he does, it still matters to him so much

I see Chloe's bullet as a modern symbol of Cupid's arrow. Of course, It's a way to show that he loves her.

He is the Devil, he kept in the safe what is most important to him. A part of Chloe (technically) He doesn't value Money or any other materialistic thing since he can ( by the comics) create universes why wouldn't he be able to create anything else? It doesn't matter to him, nothing does but his friends and family.
Well the painting was the one Lucifer bought to save Chloe when she was poisoned. So it makes sense that the safe behind it was something for Chloe.

That’s the moment that made this scene my favorite. There was a sadness and desperation in his eyes, it said sooo much! I never shipped an onscreen relationship so much, and I love the buildup.
@@ryanthomas913 That sadness and desperation is so multi-layered, he's desperate to have Chloe, she's all he's ever wanted in life and more, he desires her love and affection above anything, the sadness is because he feels he doesn't deserve it, that he's unworthy of her and that he'll ruin it like he has a way of ruining everything.
He keeps himself at a distance from Chloe to protect her from him, but at the same time he's so desperate to just tell her that she's his entire world

Kinda thought the whole point is he loves her, but he doesn't allow himself to try pursue that sort of relationship with her. Because he believe god manifested the feelings she had for him in her, so she doesn't actually feel the same on her own free will. which always been common theme for Lucifer in the series that he believe in free will, which he believes god removes from humanity by orchestrating and manipulating events for the "greater purpose" etc.
Is it just me or does Lucifer only hugs Chloe? Usually he has a problem hugging people like he did with Ella at the beginning of the episode.

I believe the writers of the show are dragging it out because they do not know how to handle it once its revealed. The know the main tension of the show is the question of how Chloe will react when she learns the ACTUAL truth. Hence they like to drag it out as long as they can. The tension will go when everything is revealed and chloe has reacted because lets be honest....where is this show going honestly? We are three seasons in and there is no endgame in sight.

Eric Cartman I actually would love to see Chloe knowing his identity, I think that it would bring benefits to the "plot". Like in Grimm or iZombie. It would be nice to see the new ways of interaction between those two and the relationship Chloe-Maze (if Chloe doesn't start to go drama queen mode).

In season 4, a character reveals Lucifer has been on earth for 7 years(or at least they've known his existence since then.) The series started 5 years in, so without counting the entirety of season 4, it's only been 2 and a half years aproximately.

As a guy who just found this show, bingewatched the living hell [pun intended] out of it, and who never obsessed over romances between tv show characters, I've watched this scene more than I'm willing to accept to. Oh well.
I'm a guy too, not really one for tears, romance or anything like that, but the relationship between Lucifer & Chloe is handled so well, they can bring you to tears of happiness for them both, as well as tears of sadness, they can have you ugly cry laughing, as well as in stiches with the humour between the two of them

Everything about it , from the entrance , to the way they are asleep on the couch , to the way he removes linda's hand and drops it on daniel's face , to the moment he talks to chloe while she's asleep , to the funny line about the bullet , till the hug at the end and the change in music as it happens. I don't know about anyone else but this made me feel good.
One of the reason why I'm coming to this scene again and again is the song used in the background.
The choice of background music and songs used in every episode are truly amazing!! Every song used in the background matches the vibe of the scene.
Season 1 opened with a song 'Ain't No Rest For the Wicked' and first 60 seconds of the episode 1 was enough to make you watch this show till the end.

Never saw something so beautiful
This entire ending always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Lucifer coming home after a successful murder investigation only to find his penthouse completely trashed, Dan and Linda passed out drunk on the couch (with Dan still holding the drill 🤣) and Chloe snuggled up in his bed before giving her the necklace and making her laugh with that joke... You'd expect him to be so annoyed at the mess they made and the attempt to break open his safe, but instead he's only amused and sad that he missed the party. He really loves his friends! 😭❤️
I’ve noticed that every sixth episode of lucifer seems to either leave me in shock or in tears but each episode makes me want more. (1x06 we see lucifers wings. 2x06 Linda sees lucifers devil face. 3x06 lucifer brings us to tears again)
Sin Overlord A great show ! Loved how they had the back story of how he met Candy in a sad drunken haze depressed over leaving Chloe. And the last three minutes are pure gold! I love the way he talked to her thinking she was asleep and the gift! Really gave her a part of him since the bullet is soaked in his blood. Well done!
It's TV fomula. Right in the middle of the season is usually where they add a twist, with the exception of last year where it came early, and that's most likely because they ordered more episodes for the season after the initial 13.

@@CillaFlorchi That shirt and cufflinks are the same shirt and cufflinks set from E1, when Chloe and Lucifer first met, he literally keeps that pairing apart from the rest of his wardrobe, those are important to him as its the day his life changed, Chloe wearing that shirt twice is no mistake.
It's her shirt now. also in the episode Chloe does Lucifer, she takes off her bullet necklace and see's that Lucifer is upset by it so she takes his handkerchief with her instead, it's a small thing but it just shows that she wants to keep a piece of him with her at all times.
The fact she ends up sleeping in his bed twice, in his shirt twice is because she see's herself as his woman, way way before it ever actually happened. she didn't have to change into his shirt but she choose too, because she wanted to be that much closer to him

As a man I can't believe I am so addicted to they relationship and literally was on the verge to bawl my eyes out...I only just now finished this episode and was waiting how long we will get an intimate scene between them two again and finally we did again... Gosh I am living for this relationship even tho it isn't real of course. Characters are carrying this show on they shoulders for real, the characters in this show are loveable as hell 😉 especially Chloe and Lucifer.
Love how Lucifer doesn't even care that they thrash the place he is just disappointed that he wasn't their to celebrate with them makes you wonder that good memories are forever compared to equipment so just cherish the moment

I think it's about time Chloe learns about his identity in this season. It has already dragged on for too long. There is no way anyone (Chloe in this case) would be able to accept all the things Lucifer can do (making people open up like that about what they desire) without knowing, even subconsciously, that there is something more to Lucifer than meets the eye. It would also create an interesting dynamic between them if she knew she is dating the devil himself.
Previews for the next episode indicates that the reporter (Dr. Linda's ex) sees Lucifer's devil face, and is properly freaked out.

cartoon80s90s not my own theory but I read in another comment thread that as this is set in the DC universe the idea of meta humans isn't a foreign concept. It's a big jump however from Chloe thinking Lucifer has a "gift" to Lucifer being the actual Lord of hell
For the time being I will be fine even with her just acknowledging he has some kind of ability and not knowing the whole truth. However, for a detective she is annoyingly oblivious to the things that keep happening around her. I don't want to call her dumb, but if she does not start investigating wtf is going on with Lucifer, that's exactly what she is going to be by the time the season ends.
