Did you know that several years before the closure and his passing, Stan sold the brand and recipe to a Chicago outfit? "Stan's Donuts & Coffee" in Chicago is now a chain of 30+ stores. The Berman family will get royalties for many years.
+elchoya100 Me too. Although no one can replace him, I wish PBS would still have a similar show to his to carry on the tradition. Now, must plan how to go to Westwood to try Stan's Donuts. :)
This has always been my favorite donut. I always tell everyone about it. I love it even more after the name change. Huell was such an awesome guy. RIP.
Huell was one of the most humble and charming person I had ever met. I was supposed to co-host an episode with him about the culture of the Mexican Lucha Libre (wrestling) scene in LA. But it never came to fruition. We played phone tag for while then sadly. he passed. His shows were a thing of simplistic beauty and his boy-like charisma made them a gem to watch. His shows got me through the roughest of times, and made me smile at the end of the day.. RIP HUELL HOWSER you were truly California's Gold.
I agree, he did bring a sense of the better in us all. I had a medical problem and was pretty sick, stuck at home waiting to see if I was going to make it. Pretty serious stuff. To cheer up I'd watch these tapes of his many shows. Funny as it sounds they did just that. I got to looking forward to watching them daily. Some of them over and over again (such as the desert episodes around Salton Sea or Newberry Springs). Was great to have Huell's old shows around to watch. Even dead he still provides us with a positive outlook on life.
I sure do miss the blueberry old-fashioned glazed donuts. Stan or Teresa would always be there. I went to the Stan’s in Chicago but it wasn’t the same, the ambiance was certainly different.
Great video coverage with trading, technical analysis skills alone are not enough; discipline and emotional maturity are also crucial for success. The saying "time in the market vs. timing the market" is a good mindset to have during market fluctuations. Thanks to Shea Ardolf’s insights, daily trade signals, and my dedication to learning, I've been increasing my daily earnings. Keep it up!
Insightful comments, very much appreciated.. just came across the consulting page of Shea Ardolf after inputting her full name on the web, super impressed with what i've seen so far
The beauty of Shea Ardolf ’s approach is her dual focus: while she aggressively pursues profit opportunities, she's equally tenacious about shielding investors from potential pitfalls. It's a balance few can achieve.
Trading systems allow you to limit the factor of emotional influence on decision-making, as well as to give the trade a certain degree of systemic character.
Without a doubt! Shea Ardolf is a trader who goes above and beyond. She has an exceptional skill for analyzing market movements and spotting profitable opportunities. Her strategies are meticulously crafted based on thorough research and years of practical experience.
@@davidmarvy6788same, I saw this video on my UA-cam shorts feed and then remembered watching huel how see back in 4th grade and just had to click the link to the full video. Now I’m hungry, lol.
I love California Gold but Visiting had some great episodes. Stan's was one of them. He pretty much said, "Come on Reeses. Sue me!" HA. Atta' way Stan.
I used to go there when I went to UCLA. Met a few big-time people in there back in the 70s. Sometimes they'd give me a (small) regular haircut discount when I showed them my student ID and Veterans frat card. Stans' was a great place to get a donut and a large coffee before heading off to Dodd and an early class. Happy college memories. UCLA was a great place to attend college and Westwood a unique and special village type setting, especially for LA. I was upset when my cousin told me Stan's closed in 2020. We'd heard he was planning to close up for a while, but Covid made the call sooner much easier. Kind of sad knowing that to see Stan with Huell from the past.
God, I miss this place. Was never quite the same after they had to lease out a big chunk of the space, though. I would sit in their with my father and siblings on Sunday mornings. I recall all the film posters (probably given by the Mann Bruin across the street)
I tell you what, if Huell was my uncle or grandpa, or even my dad, he'd have easily been my favorite relative. I've gone to countless places he recommended. I remember in particular some old beverage shop in Eagle Rock that had NeHi he'd showcased; I actually worked right next door to that place for awhile. I even remember house-sitting on Rossmore, just below after it changes from Vine, and being pointed out Huell's LA digs...when he wasn't in the desert anyway. (thought for sure I saw him one day...) It's a G@d-damnwd shame he died.
Great Episode of California Gold, we also have a donut shop called Stan's Donuts in Santa Clara, California which opened in the 1950's, they have the best Bavarian Creme I have ever had with very reasonable prices, two donuts and you are full.
I found out the hard way, but stan's doughnuts in westwood , NE of santa Monica, is permanently closed 😢 This video is 8 years old after all. Simplier time for doughnuts back then
I tend to agree we all miss Mr. Hansen. But I would think Mr. Houser would like us to follow him in his footsteps as a as a organization of a optimus group. Meaning we could create optimistic group that way follow on Huell Hauser I did before in the past and continue of Huell Howser
I wonder if they have any connection to Stan's Donuts in Santa Clara, Ca (Nor Cal) Stan's Santa Clara was started about the same time and they to are World Famous.....National Radio Host Mark Levine raves about Stan's when he visits the Bay Area.
And now Stan's Donuts are a Thing That Is Not Here Anymore. (sigh) COVID-19 casualty at least partially, the other part being that the owners wanted to retire.
Stan’s Donuts is now closed ):. The last time I was in, an employee was complaining to him about being underpaid $40 dollars to him and Stan sitting down contemplating something deeply a strong presence of concern
There’s nothing wrong with red meat. There’s nothing wrong with carbohydrates. There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of sugar. What is wrong is eating processed food that isn’t natural and minimizing the amount of ingredients like your intake of food. I don’t know why people try to complicate it.

Huell was a National Treasure.
I did a Huell foodie road trip in 2019. I visited both Pinks and Stan's Donuts. The Huell was excellent and the milk was a nice complement.
I really really miss him. He was such a genuine person and was so enthusiastic about everything no matter how small.
He inspired me to become a white supremacist
Yes, same! Think of him often.

@@deathstar001 He had a "nitch"! God bless his soul. Stan's went down too as a business due to Covid 19.
I was in University City, Westwood ares and wanted to stop by at Stan’s. Should’ve read the comments to find out they where non existent. 😢
Huell had some great programs and genuinely cared for people, I miss his programs and his optimism. .
Can't believe this doughnut shop closed for good stan's I remember this episode
The same space is opening a new donut store. I was there last Sunday. They were almost ready to go.
My father and I both had our hair cuts there in the 60's and 70's. I worked at Stan's winter/spring 1980.

30 minutes before closing we could get a big bag filled to the top with donuts for $2. We’d feed on that bag for days.

Oh huell. I wish you had known your life had so little time left but even when you didn't you seemed to always live it to the fullest.

And now it's no more. Truly sad. We've lost so many places that were a part of our childhood....
