The New 52 costume is pretty different than the movie one, with the traditional briefs instead of the battle skirt, granted in darker colots. The movie style costume came in with Rebirth.
I feel like Robert Pattinson's Batman is the perfect start for a new DCEU. To be honest, they should've started the DCEU with Batman either way since he's the money maker. But for real, if you get a good Batman in your DC universe, you have a connection to every other character. I can't wait to see what's next from the Pattinson universe.
There's a struggle with Batman adaptations that's shared with Spider-Man: you essentially hire for two roles, and most of the people who've done it have only done one all that well. Christian Bale is a good Bruce Wayne but a bad Batman. Pattinson's shown he can do a good Batman, and going by other stuff he's been in he could definitely be a good Bruce Wayne, they just haven't let him try yet. The only Batman actors good at both, by the way: Adam West (for the type of Batman he is) and, of course, on the voice side Kevin Conroy. If we call Stephen Amell's Green Arrow an honorary Batman since they basically wrote him as that a lot of the time, then he joins the club too.
This is gonna be a hot take but…Heath Ledgers joker was awesome, but not necessarily a good adaptation of the Joker character The joker in this movie is more into anarchy and based around “society is crazy” which don’t get me wrong is very in line with the Joker character but that’s not all he’s about. There’s more to him than that.. He also refutes the idea of being called crazy which isn’t like the joker at all. Joker in the comics knows he’s crazy and relishes in it. He loves how crazy he is, so to hear joker in TDK deny being crazy is kinda wrong. Plus you have the liberties with the face paint and the scars, and while comedy is a subjective thing. This version of the Joker isn’t all too funny. Yes there’s some stuff like the magic trick, and spray painting (s)laughter on his truck, as well as the irony of lighting a fire truck on fire. But for the most part this joker isn’t too humorous. Heath Ledger is still my favorite actor to portray the character in live-action (Mark Hamill is my favorite overall). But that doesn’t mean he is “the definitive and accurate portrayal”
Bold pick on Tyler too. I think Reeve is iconic and people today like Henry but I think Tyler has emerged as a more complete Superman in personality even if not in looks. But Reeve is Reeve
Sope Dirisu as Batman Michael B. Jordan as Superman Kylie Bunbery as Wonder Woman Michael Ward as Aquaman John Boyega as Cyborg John David Washington as Green Lantern (John Stewart) Jenna Ortega as Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz) Sasha Calle as Supergirl Adria Arjona as Zartanna
Let’s put it this way. Amell’s version of Green Arrow is so good that the latest Robin Hood movie basically did a reverse-adaptation and used the concept for the original hooded archer character
@@inukaiser true, but it was definitely successful, at least the first several seasons. It’s why they decided to expand a single show into a whole franchise. Sadly, it’s now dead
Hey man, I respect your decision on picking Tyler Hoechlin as Superman and I hope you don't take this the wrong way but picking Elizabeth Tulloch is crazy when Erica Durance is clearly the better Lois Lane overall. her character is so well put in Smallville and her relationship with Clark is so good. When it comes to the relationship factor Smallville's and SaL's are two ends of greatness, Smallville's representing an early relationship and SaL's relationship 15 years later. But I digress, Just saying that Erica Durance is the better Lois Lane in my opinion.
Your description of Gal as an actress literally is beside the point. The question is simply based on if her WW was a good adaptation. Whether or not she appears in better films doesn’t make a difference. The fact is that WW isn’t and hadn’t ever been taken seriously so even 1974, as bad as it is, would be adapting her comic book character. However, since that’s not what they were trying to portray, it isn’t seen that way. All that tells me is that that age of comics shouldn’t ever be adapted. For example, your Aquaman is correct, precisely bc they just straight up avoided the silly take on him. But his second film was not much better than WW84.
3:26 The Joker movie is great from what people have said I haven’t ever seen and I don’t think I will because I want a true Batman Joker!!!!!! 3:58 Heath’s Joker is my favorite!!!! Different take on the Joker but still as evil and devious as the books!!! Jack’s is great I loved it comic orginish accurate and I loved that Joker finally got a name “Jack Naiper” a name that has stuck around. Leto’s Joker I liked the different take on it and I liked Leto and the movie didn’t give him what he deserved considering the intervention of WB and Leto saying all of the scenes he filmed could add up to a movie
I love to see Battinson have the evolution of the bat family. Wallis Day is young enough to be Batwoman for Battinson's continuity, Jackson Dunn (the actor who played Brightburn) would be young enough for Battinson's robin and we could use Leslie Grace's batgirl for Battinson's franchise since James Gordon in the franchise is black.
@@trevturp7687 I can understand that your not a racist. Neither am I. Than how come we got a black James Gordon in the Battinson franchise? Leslie Grace is not fully as black as him. The Black Lion: "the one thing that stayed consistent, aside from Season 4 is that I never stopped liking Oliver Queen as a character." Me: "Correction, the one thing that stayed consistent, aside from Season 3 is that I never stopped liking Oliver Queen as a character."
Opinions on DC iterations Titans Dick Grayson is early days nightwing during the 1980s-2000s where he was angry with Bruce and was still going through his flaws, so I cannot say that he’s not accurate. Lois Lane has been a toss with the past 3 live action versions of the character since S&L, smallville, and DCEU did her justice. I personally love Amy Adams’ portrayal of her determined reporter & sass. With Batman I’m tossed with Ben Affleck with his iteration’s history and how his story was redemption and rediscovering his beliefs, Val Kilmer with EVERYTHING, and Robert Pattinson with everything that you pointed out. Superman it’s difficult because Cavill was the early days version of the character’s story whose still trying to do more while the world criticizes him, Tyler brings the experienced yet optimistic version of the character and deals with being a parent, and Routh was always been a good Superman especially with crisis that showed his tired yet hopeful hero doing his best. I want a movie with these 3 iterations of Superman to bond and support each other like NWH, but for the majority of the movie.
I don't think tyler hoechlin being the best superman adaptation is going to be as hot of a take as you thought. The vast majority of people who love the core of the superman character love his portrayal.
I'm probably in the minority but I really liked DCEU Flash, Miller as a person is a different story but he nailed the infectious Spider-Man-esque energy that I think is crucial to any Flash who's part of the Justice League (look at DCAU for reference)
@@-That_F_Guy you're probably right. Its just to me when they have these big superhero team ups I think it helps to have at least one character who realizes how absurd the situation actually is and Flash (Barry, Wally, Bart, etc.) is a better fit for that character type than any other main Leaguer (I don't really consider Shazam a main member)
The next version of The Flash also needs to have a way better Flash Family than the one that he had in the Arrowverse along with a way better utilization of The Flash Family than the one in the Arrowverse, because those people at The CW undoubtedly did The Flash Family dirty.
Tyler is definitely the best Superman. I think it's because he has everything great you can find in other adaptations. - Good fathers and son relationship - Good Earth / Krypton identity struggle - Good Lana relationship - Good Martha relationship - Good Lois Lane love relationship - Good villains - Good stories The only thing missing are a good Jimmy and Kryptonite storyline.
Wasn’t arrow supposed to be a Batman show and they were told like last minute while writing they couldn’t use him and then they panic picked green arrow
do this for Marvel as well please, both worst & best adaptations. Obviously it probs won't be too hard since most of the MCU characters only have 1 live action portrayal. But I'd still enjoy it
Pls do a part 2 you could do Zachary Levi and Asher Angel as Shazam and Billy Batson Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman is also really good Dawyne Johnson as Black Adam
At first I saw the idea of comparing Gustin Flash to Miller Flash as ridiculous, but I can’t help but compare the emotion in Barry’s visits to his dad in the tv show to the ones in JL. It’s hard to not admire the chemistry and performances in the show over the film. Then again the interactions in both versions of the movie were bogged down by lazy exposition.
You have to watch "Lois & Clark" the superman show from the 90s, that show's Lois Lane & Jimmy Olsen are the best live action adaptations. Teri Hatcher was a great Lois
5:43 Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow was always supposed to be the arrowverse’s Batman bc for whatever reason they don’t have the rights for Batman or any of his characters except his cousin Batwomen apparently, and the show Gotham somewhat had the rights to do certain things with Bruce Wayne and the his characters 8:13 and Grant Gustin was ALWAYS A BETTER actor than Ezra Miller

While not live-action, Hal Jordan was adapted really well in "Green Lantern: The Animated Series."
The comics did not take inspiration from Gadot's costuming. That design originated in the New 52, in 2011.
Matt reeves won't allow that
Affleck is still the dcu batman it's good
There's a struggle with Batman adaptations that's shared with Spider-Man: you essentially hire for two roles, and most of the people who've done it have only done one all that well.
If we call Stephen Amell's Green Arrow an honorary Batman since they basically wrote him as that a lot of the time, then he joins the club too.
the show gotham has a lot of great interpretations, especially jim gordon and joker
What would the DuckTales Universe look like in the mcu blueprint?
This is gonna be a hot take but…Heath Ledgers joker was awesome, but not necessarily a good adaptation of the Joker character
The joker in this movie is more into anarchy and based around “society is crazy” which don’t get me wrong is very in line with the Joker character but that’s not all he’s about.
There's a Pennyworth tv show and it's a good adaptation
It has the best adaption of Alfred Pennyworth ever.
Batfleck Hands down. Love the Dark Knight version too, but none of these other Bats can throw down with Batfleck
Bold pick on Tyler too. I think Reeve is iconic and people today like Henry but I think Tyler has emerged as a more complete Superman in personality even if not in looks. But Reeve is Reeve
Christopher Reeve is still the best Superman, not Tyler Hoecholin, but Tyler is still great in the role.
Sope Dirisu as Batman
Michael B. Jordan as Superman
Kylie Bunbery as Wonder Woman
Michael Ward as Aquaman
John Boyega as Cyborg
John David Washington as Green Lantern (John Stewart)
Jenna Ortega as Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz)
Sasha Calle as Supergirl
Adria Arjona as Zartanna
Let’s put it this way. Amell’s version of Green Arrow is so good that the latest Robin Hood movie basically did a reverse-adaptation and used the concept for the original hooded archer character
amell version was more like a Green batman
@@inukaiser true, but it was definitely successful, at least the first several seasons. It’s why they decided to expand a single show into a whole franchise. Sadly, it’s now dead
The next version of Green Arrow that we see on screen should also have a better Arrow Family.
I agree 100,000 percent Tyler is the best adaptation of Superman we've seen yet.
Christopher Reeve is the best adaptation of Superman we’ve seen yet.
i hoped he would mention Alfred from the pennyworth series , that series is underrated
I agree with you. Robert Pattinson is my favourite Batman with Ben Affleck coming in second.
Ryan Reynolds’s Hal Jordan isn’t the only live action version of Hal Jordan.
It’s good that Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow is a better fighter.
Rob is the goat, his Robin would mostly be Dick Grayson In the sequel I think or something like the Dark victory comic.
Jeffery Wright is honestly my favorite on screen Gordon
Alfred is the goat. You can't make him bad.
They shouldn’t use a black Batgirl, I’m not a racist, but they shouldn’t use a black Batgirl.
@@trevturp7687 I can understand that your not a racist. Neither am I. Than how come we got a black James Gordon in the Battinson franchise? Leslie Grace is not fully as black as him. And do you wish (as much as I do) Wallis Day can play Batwoman in Battinson's franchise where she can portrayed epically and fairly compared to how CW treated her?
I think they are scared to give Batman a Robin in the modern movies because of the 90s.
The Black Lion: "the one thing that stayed consistent, aside from Season 4 is that I never stopped liking Oliver Queen as a character."
Me: "Correction, the one thing that stayed consistent, aside from Season 3 is that I never stopped liking Oliver Queen as a character."
Opinions on DC iterations
Titans Dick Grayson is early days nightwing during the 1980s-2000s where he was angry with Bruce and was still going through his flaws, so I cannot say that he’s not accurate.
A lot of people believe that Christopher Reeve is the best Superman adaptation and they are right, Christopher Reeve is the best Superman.
I'm probably in the minority but I really liked DCEU Flash, Miller as a person is a different story but he nailed the infectious Spider-Man-esque energy that I think is crucial to any Flash who's part of the Justice League (look at DCAU for reference)
He seemed to portray more of a Wally West type of Flash rather than Barry but he wouldn't be bad as Wally
@@RogueFilmsVFX oh yeah you're completely right about having someone who sees the reality of the situation I completely get your point
I think Patterson is The Batman but Bale is The Bruce Wayne
Kevin Conroy is the best Batman.
Elizabeth is great as Lois but Terri Hatcher is the best Lois to me mainly because they did the Lois Clark superman love triangle like the comics
Actually Kal El has been Superman for 20 years in Superman and Lois.
Amell's version of the character being a better fighter isn't a bad thing.
How did Lois dip in quality as a character in Season 2 of Superman and Lois?
Gotham Alfred would be high on my list
The next version of The Flash also needs to have a way better Flash Family than the one that he had in the Arrowverse along with a way better utilization of The Flash Family than the one in the Arrowverse, because those people at The CW undoubtedly did The Flash Family dirty.
Tyler is definitely the best Superman. I think it's because he has everything great you can find in other adaptations.
- Good fathers and son relationship
- Good Earth / Krypton identity struggle
- Good Lana relationship
- Good Martha relationship
- Good Lois Lane love relationship
- Good villains
- Good stories
The only thing missing are a good Jimmy and Kryptonite storyline.
Kryptonite exists in the show, but we aren’t shown it.
Perry White is also missing and other members of The Superfamily are also missing, for example, Supergirl, Superboy, and Strange Visitor.
@@trevturp7687 I meant a story about the different kryptonite, like black, red, yellow, blue and pink
Christopher Reeve is the best Superman, not Tyler Hoeclin, although Tyler Hoeclin is good in the role.
@@trevturp7687 Superboy isn't missing, only the clone Lex Clark version
They implied Perry was there in the first season
I mean the next version of Green Arrow on screen should have a better Arrow Family and a better utilization of The Arrow Family.
But I'd still enjoy it
Actually most of the MCU characters have more than one live action portrayal.
@@trevturp7687 Oh, that's news to me
love Gal's Wonder woman
thanks
Gal Gadot is already a perfect live action interpretation of Wonder Woman.
We need a live action tim drake as robin
I mean Stephen Amell's version of Green Arrow is actually a good adaption of Green Arrow.
Ngl Stephen Amell looks so much like Chris Odonnell
You have to watch "Lois & Clark" the superman show from the 90s, that show's Lois Lane & Jimmy Olsen are the best live action adaptations. Teri Hatcher was a great Lois
John Shea was a fantastic lex Luthor
shit, is there any good Jimmy Olson's? Even older appearances he does like nothing
yeah for me batwoman isn't that good..
5:43 Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow was always supposed to be the arrowverse’s Batman bc for whatever reason they don’t have the rights for Batman or any of his characters except his cousin Batwomen apparently, and the show Gotham somewhat had the rights to do certain things with Bruce Wayne and the his characters
8:13 and Grant Gustin was ALWAYS A BETTER actor than Ezra Miller
But the Arrowverse has an adaptation of Batman already though.
@@trevturp7687 Bruce Wayne is mentioned by Oliver Queen and mostly team but also some members of team flash, yes he’s “in” the arrowverse but legally they can’t actually use him
A future version of The Flash (Barry Allen) should have a much better Flash Family and a much better utilization of The Flash Family.
12:02 Both of them are better than the boring DCEU Amy Adams Lois.
big miss not including gotham in any of the picks
Brenton Is a great nightwing I loved him
Wow! No mention of Dean Cain or Teri Hatcher from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman?? They had the best Superman, Lois, Jimmy, & Lex Luthor imo
Wonder Woman music was good.
Grant Gustin doesn’t have any competition.
