- This is an easy storage solution for both your wardrobe and sewing room! A good beginner project, learn about zip insertion and lining. To make the hanger hole in the top, just unpick a few stitches when you've finished sewing!

Looking for a peg bag and came across this video. Love the idea of this for makeup, gifts for Xmas or to store different things like chargers, pens or even hair straighteners.
Such a good item to use big scraps and unwanted or ugly fabric. 🙈 love love love. Older videos still prove their worth.
Thank you Debbie!!
Thanks for another great tutorial. However, it's left me a little confused... You marked the lines for the "hole" on the top fabric, and then afterwards you cut away the marks you'd made. Then when stitching the top fabric pieces together you didn't leave "hole" in the top for the hook, you stitched straight across, you also did this with the lining. So how did you get the hook of the hanger to go through a "hole" that wasn't be there? Apologies if I seem really stupid.
You don't seem stupid, I thought the exact same thing, and I even rewound it to make sure I wasn't going mad and maybe I had missed something, but no, she didn't mention leaving the gap at the top for the hanger hook, so it left me a little confused when she mentioned hole at the top for the hook, at the end of the video.
Me too
Just made mine in a practice fabric as I’m a newbie. My very first zip!! I’m so proud off it! I love it, I’m going to make some for a bridal party and hopefully get some heat transfer decals to put their names on the bottom half. Perfect for keeping their accessories in. Thank you so much
Gorgeous it’s the magic moment when you turn it the right way through I love making little bags and things thankyou Debbie for your videos 💕
Hi, Debbie, I am Jean from Singapore. Thank you for teaching this Coat Hanger Cover, I made one for myself and have been using it everyday. Your step to step is easy to follow though I stopped and replay, watched many times before I completed :) thank you again:)
Thank you Debbie
This is really nice. Thanks Debbie, will be making some. I see you have a toy sewing machine on the shelf behind you. I live in Australia and I have exactly the same one that I had when I was a little girl back in the 50s. Mine is up on the shelf in my cupboard in my sewing room. Brings back many happy memories.
Hi from Deb, S.E. Queensland, Australia. I've made a lot of these but find yours the easiest pattern thank you. Everyone loves them as gifts.
If my daughter sees this, she'll put me to work making a whole set! 😂 I would like to make a couple for her and I. Thank you Sebbie. 😊
Wow I was looking for an easy peg bag pattern and your tutorial pipped up... amazing so simple but so effective... thank you for sharing this with us...just made my first of many xx❤🏴
Made these some years ago...nice to see someone put out a tutorial..I put tiny pockets in mine..I made my own patterns on freezer paper...🌻🐝
Great idea. I loved the end result and will definitely make more for gifts. I feel the tutorial went way too quickly for a beginner sewer. At the end she talked about poking the hanger through the hole you had left in the top seams... That was not mentioned in the tutorial. As a seasoned sewer I realised this was not addressed during the tutorial and I did the the stop/ start at the middle on the top seams of the outside and the inside. Much more secure .
I was wondering about the 2 holes at the top for the coat hanger to be inserted. I just re read you script above. I thought I missed something. I didn't & that is exactly the way I was inserting the hanger. What a wonderful project. I will be making more as Christmas Gifts. The family will not see that coming. So useful. I will also sew in masculine colours so the males in the family will get one too ! Thak you.
I love this idea! Will be a perfect bridal shower gift. This project is perfect the way it is but I think I would cross-hatch the top fabric to the batting for the front and back. I may also embroider their name or some other type of machine embroidery on the front and then cut out the size I need. You did a fantastic job explaining how to do it.
I love this, I will definitely be making some, thank you 😊
LOVE this tutorial, when I stitched the front to the back main pieces ( marked the halfway !) then stopped & backstitched, left small gap, then back stitched again, sewing to the end. This is just my way & worked very well for me !
I'm quite new to sewing, enjoyed making this, now my daughters would like one.
Hola Debbie!..

Love this project. Thanks Debbie❤️❤️
That's perfect. Just something I need. Thank you x
I read the comments before asking about the hole for the hangar top. 👍🏻 I’m going to see if there is a way to make it before closing. Love this Debbie.
Thank you for sharing!
You are the best!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Hi, thanks so much. I did it and I am so happy. Can you show us how to sew similar dippers stacker please. Thanks again. Best regards from Bulgaria.
Didn’t see where you left hole for hanger at top, but love this and will make for Xmas presents
I didn't either
Great idea Debbie’s. On my to do list! X
I like your tutorial but would like measurements included for each piece. I know I can do my own thing but would like to know your measure to to help me get started. Thank you, it’s a good video and directions. Also what size zipper did you use?
I hope you’ll add the measurements 🙏🙏
Que lindo !! Adorei esse cabide
Obrigado😘💕👏👏💐
I LOVE . THANK YOU💝👍👍
Brilliant idea, thank you another great tutorial..
Would you be able to do a tutorial on your 6600p sewing machine please? Thinking of getting one..
Thank you x
Love the padded hanger. Will be making these for Christmas gifts. Do you have a pattern for the adorable doll on the counter behind you?
That's a members project from my half Yard Sewing club... glad you like her!
I'm curious, you sewed across the two top pieces without leaving an opening, how did you get the hanger through the opening you mention at the end?
Did I miss where you left the holes at the top? Lol!
Hets Girl I thought that too! X
I unpicked a few stitches at the top when finished... apologies!
So did I !!!! Hahaha
😅
Wonderful! Where can I purchase those wooden hangers?
You mentioned something I don’t know of....you said you could add pleaque? Not sure of the spelling but very curious to know what it is. I really like your style of sharing with everyone. Thank you.
Applique is just adding a patch of fabric, letters, flowers and the like...
I guess I'm missing something! I cut out all the pieces from the list and the first step I see is you have 2 small pieces and I only have one. My other pieces are all big. 34 inches long. What am I missing?
Hi Debbie, I'm I've watched this over and over and can't figure out how you got the opening for the hanger hook to go through. What am I missing?
No you didn't miss anything. The opening for the top was not left. Only the lining had instructions to make an opening. I realized that after I made it.!!
Sorry, I covered this in the description box...
@@debbieshore afraid not you stitched right the curved part where you should have stopped at the top and left a small opening and carried on sewing but I just poked the coat hanger thru. 😁
on my to do list debbie great project .helen in dublin
I didn’t see how you did the hole in the top. Did the video skip over that?
The instructions say 34 x 12” but then it jumps into pieces that are cut 5 inches wide by I don’t know how many inches long. And then the bottom is the same length as the top but again I don’t know how many inches wide it is. Can you tell me if I missed the part where it gives the directions or the measurements of the actual pieces used? I’m about ready to cry because I’ve already cut my expensive material to be 34 x 12”
I have just looked and think that the front is 17 inches wide by 5 inches at the top and 17 inches by 7 inch at the bottom. The back is 17 inches wide by 12 inches. This is why the material required is given as 34 x 12 inches. Hope this helps anyone who reads this. Going to give this a try this afternoon as think it will make a lovely gift 🎁 😊
When did you leave the gap for the hanger? I can’t see this bit.
I didn't see that bit either ??
Apologies... I unpicked s a few stitches at the top when I turned it through...
Good idea and great gift idea, yes I thought as you were making it you forgot to leave a space for your hanger ,maybe either show an add on of unpicking that would be clearer to first time sewers? Always love your tutorials, your so sew neatX
Debbie Shore won’t that allow it to fray? Just unpicking it? I’m thinking a button hole, but it might be awkward. I’ll have to give this some thought! 😉
I’ve made it and just left an opening. It works fine. Once it’s turned the right way all the raw seams are hidden!
I am so sorry, I must have totally missed the gap at the top for the hook of the hanger!! Did you stop sewing at some point on the “arch” for the gap???
Help!! I really want to make a couple of these for my brother-in-law who would love these for his suits & ties while traveling!!
I explain in the description, sorry for the confusion! Just I pick a few stitches at the top for the hanger to go through, I’ll re make the video at some point…
Question, where did I miss the part about leaving an opening for hanger?
I love this project. You forgot the instructions for a hole at the top for the hanger.
Hi Debbie great idea but when did you do the gap for the hanger thank you Ann
I wondered that too???
Lindo parabéns
Will you please teach us how to sew a face mask?
I must have missed when you leave the hole up top
If you sew across the top of the front & back & sew the top of lining…how do you get the hanger in?
I covered this is tne description box, apologies for the confusion...
What about the zipper pull?
What is everyone using their hanger bags for- looking for ideas to use at home? thanks
I live in Michigan (frozen winters) I put my gloves/mittens in the zip area and hang my coat over. Drape scarf over the hanger. Have made several for gifts and put mittens.gloves in zip area.
I missed the spot where the hole for the hanger was made.
I found the comments. Thanks 😊
Hi, I wonder if anyone knows where I can buy some wooden coat/clothes hangers like the ones you have used in this tutorial please. I've looked online and can't seem to find any like this. Many thanks :)
Have you tried Amazon?
I use the plastic ones. Just be careful when you measure.
Where did u get your hanger
Amazon I think..
Very beautiful like you
You didn’t mention about leaving any holes for the top of the hanger sorry
Sorry, I did add this to the description..
hi dose it cost to subscribe to you xx
Never shows how to put a proper hole in the top for the hanger to go through.
