The video I needed. I got yelled at in front of everyone in a meeting by my boss as he yelled design changes at me. Apparently working after hours on the project was not enough for him.
I still regret not standing up to him.

      Yeah. I’ve been there before.
Managers who resort to this are quite small and petulant and passive aggressive.
Call them out on it…professionally of course. If it continues a second time plus then that shows the level of respect they have for you.

Setting boundaries at work is about advocating for yourself with clarity and confidence, not confrontation. When you speak your truth respectfully, you teach others how to treat you.

Hi! This was really helpful. Thank you for sharing your time and wisdom. I've been advocating for myself in toxic workplaces. The systems don't always have the processes to adequately repair certain forms of corruption, harm, or power abuse. If you have time, a video on recognizing who our allies are (i.e., who that more tenured person might be) would help me. (I've often gone to people based on certain shared identities, but, in most instances, they have turned out to perceive me as a competitor or threat. (They are usually older, so I never perceive them, or anyone, as such.)) My true allies are often people who are quite different from me superficially. Either way, thanks, your content is great🙏🏾

The way I conduct myself at work, my co-workers know not to raise their voices at me or try to bully me. Not because I’m aggressive, but because I display a level of professionalism and respect others, and I speak up when necessary.

I had a trainer let me know I SHOULD know a procedure. I was drawing at lunch and decided to let it go. I am new with my organization and believe I acted judiciously. Whew!
