    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I've been wanting to do one of these cosplays, but I looked them up on Amazon, and they're like $140, so I really appreciate you doing this tutorial! It's going to be a lot cheaper!!!

    you can also carefully burn the edges of the cording to seal it instead of making an aglet

    • @OneEmilys
      @OneEmilys  7 років тому +7

      +wally west that will stop it from fraying, but the aglet makes it look a little more finishey

    just a quick comment about the rope: you can take a match and burn the ends of the rope and it prevents them from fraying too!

    All I wanna say is that your cosplays look *AMAZING!!*
    Also, any tips for working with chiffon? Me and two of my nerd friends wanna cosplay YOI, and I have never worked with chiffon -_-
    Also can you iron chiffon (I know you showed it in the video, but do you need any special care?)
    Thanks in advanced!

    • @OneEmilys
      @OneEmilys  6 років тому +1

      Thank you so much!
      As far as working with chiffon goes, it’s going to be a pain no matter what. Use lots of pins, do lots of test stitches on scraps to get your tension right, and fray check the edges. When you buy the chiffon, the bolt will have ironing instructions, but if you aren’t sure start cool and go warmer:

    you guys did great! I'm actually using this tutorial right now and all I have left is to sew on the sleeves then decorate the jacket! Although I messed up BIG time on the pattern alterations as I'm quite new to sewing (and I'm only 12), and I also couldn't afford or had time to get more fabric. Not only that but because I live in the UK I had to pay a lot more for specific things! Mine looks like dog crap compared to yours! Keep up the good work! :)

    does the chiffon have to be see through? or does it have to be spandex based?

    • @OneEmilys
      @OneEmilys  7 років тому +1

      +Uhcapic candy the kind I used is a sheer, polyester chiffon, and it will work best if you're using a fabric that is non stretch

    This tutorial is exactly what I needed for my Yuri cosplay! The jacket came out WONDERFULLY! And I'm going to use this tutorial again for when I make my Yuri Ballgown! And its a good thing I ordered the swarovskis I needed for the fist jacket when I did because the Etsy store where Emily got the crystals no longer exists. :( It dissappeared around two months ago, which is a shame because that place became my go to for all of my swarovski needs (I use a lot of crystals in the things I make)

    I'm making a Stammi Vicino dress based off of a design by yakikesen on twitter and I was wondering how long this took you? Just so I can get an idea of how long this will take haha

    • @OneEmilys
      @OneEmilys  7 років тому +2

      +Wolve_Dreamer the jacket took me about 17 hours. A big chunk of that time was bedazzling the jacket. It was a long process. And a Stammi Vicino dress sounds gorgeous 😍

    Thanks so much for doing this tutorial! I've been using it to make my own Victor jacket. I had a question about dying the fabric. Does the dye need to set at all or can you dry it and instantly start sewing? Thanks!

    Have you had any skin reactions from Yaya Han's fabric?
    I've been interested in buying some of that line, but I had heard it cases allergic reactions, and I'm just trying to find out if there is any truth to that.
    Absolutely gorgeous cosplays btw.

    • @OneEmilys
      @OneEmilys  7 років тому

      +Jacob Vester I heard about allergic reactions when the fabric first came out, but none recently. I've never had anything happen to me before. I've found them to be pretty comfortable and nice to work with, but overpriced for sure. And thank you so much!
