Excellent Review!!! I'm so happy to find a review of a Lens (which I just Got and Love), that reviews it for Photography as the MAIN use! A review that doesn't highlight video usage. Our GoPro's and iPhones do Videos fine for most us...I still Enjoy REAL Photography and that's why this IMO is an awesome review. Great Job!
My problem with this lens is that it's existence may preclude a proper ultrawide DX zoom, like a 10-18mm. Nikon releases so few DX lenses that there may not be another chance anytime soon.
you did a good review and love it! i know you focus on nature but how anout this lense for vlogging??? I want to buy a Z30 and this is a lens that it is more interesting (for me) to jump into the Z system, and buy a FTZ adaptor and use the rest of my F glass. Also how does it do in video mode?? since I want to vlog and film my self with it.... Thank you and cheers from Mexico
Thank you for your kind words, actually the entire reason I bought this lens and z30 is for vlogging and it just happens to take great photos. But I use it all the time for vlogging and broll and it's great, the image stabilization is fantastic and it's so smooth. I never talk about video since this is a photography channel, but that's what I think! Also if you wanted to do video you shouldn't use f-mount glass over z glass. Mainly because of autofocus being way quieter with the z lenses and much smoother.
@@TheProjectPhotography thank you for the reply, I want to jumt into the Z mount but I take time since income is low, so at the beggining I will try to use my F lenses and with the years I will be buying more lenses, but that is the reason I have not gone mirrorless
Great video, a qq how do you set up to show the focal length indicator after updated the system? I'm using Z30 with 12-28 but the focal length indicator is not showing
@@TheProjectPhotography Sun star in Z24-70 f/4 is not as sharp, pointy as it is in Sigma 35mm f/1.4, so I was curious to know how the sun star looks in this lens.
Eventually battery loses it life overtime, and it depends how you are dependent on your screen display cause that's the most power demanding in the nikon z apsc camera

You have to update the Nikon Z30 to its newest firmware and that should solve the issue.

How good is the Sunstar produced with this lens?
The sun stars are about average tbh. It can definitely do them though if that's what you're curious about!
