Matt, so weird: my lifetime best was an 85, but yesterday I went out of my mind and shot a 78. 35 putts, one double bogey and one birdy. It just felt easy, exactly as you logged here
Can you post what club you're using and the distance when you're about to take a shot? Its a bit quick on the recap of the hole and the yardage and club selection before each hit it would help players understand averages of your shot (as compared to their own). Otherwise love the graphics and commentary! Thanks.
Hey there! Below the hole/score banner in the upper right I put my club selection (matches the end of hole screenshot) but I don't put the distance to the hole. Will consider distance to hole in future videos!
Ah I didn't see it there. Maybe an updated layout would help. Something like this: docs.google.com/document/d/1KHAzNkuTFPFrryN0UiYcnGHE577r2KlQ37wG55GM_Ws/edit?usp=sharing
Excellent round. Good ball striking, good putting, good course management. I also think you can remove the asterisk. Walking back to the tee when you realized the tee shot was out of bounds was impractical and you assessed a fair penalty against yourself.
Thanks! It really was a round where everything was going right. A good or bad break here or there and we are taking a very different score. Appreciate the kind words 🤙
@@GolfParfection There a sign on hole 16 that says if OB, players are assessed for 1 penalty stroke actually. You gave yourself 2 strokes which is more than fair.
Love the question but I don't know if I can offer anything of substance other than I just like the cobra more from a subjective standpoint. Looks and feel etc. I think I'm able to start putts more online with armlock vs non armlock but armlock also has it's cons. Let me think on this one 👍
As a single digit, I shot 72 for the first time there. I gotta say your ball striking is miles better than mine. I have a fair share of slices and thinned shots that make my rounds a little more interesting, but overall breaking 80 is a huge milestone. For me, it's hitting fairways and hitting greens that does it. Bogeys are fine, triples and doubles are what hurts my game the most.
Great round. Love to see it. Poplar is a fun course but when the winds get going it is really challenging. Fred and I had up to 25MPH winds when we played. Great video and can't wait for the next one.
Hey Matt, nice to see you play my home course, or as I call it TPC Poplar Creek😂 The drenching rains and strong winds earlier this year have taken down a number of trees that made the course a lot tougher. I still can’t manage to break 80 though. On certain days, there’s a shooting range for the sheriffs near the 18th tee, making putting fun. You can’t see the shooting range, but you can certainly hear it. Glad you broke 80. Golf IS hard, but so much fun.
TPC Poplar Creek I love it 🤣. Yeah can totally see how this course can bite back hard if there were way more trees. Definitely a windy day but for the most part it played in my favor. I would def come back here to play again it was a fun course.
So far it's staying in the bag! I get putter ADD really bad though but it's between the cybertruck putter and my old grandsport armlock. The Scotty phantom and TRI ball srt are in the reserves if the putting gets really bad.
Here is my 2 cents on the asterik. While you usually would have to walk back to the tee and hit another tee shot, I just recently started playing in amateur tournaments where they use this rule, exactly how you used it, (two club lengths from point of entry and two strokes) so i would say all clean! with that being said, very good round and I will also agree with you on how limiting doubles and even long bogey streaks can help keep your score low.
My home course! Great round😤
Thanks! Was definitely sleeping on Poplar it was a fun round.
Love this one! You played solid from the blacks.
Thanks my dude! Play real soon!
Nice, congrats! 🎉
Light the beam! Next year is our year let's go!
@@GolfParfection oh! haha, yes sir!

Congrats, Matt!
Thanks! Long time coming. I've posted so many videos and thought it was never gonna happen on film. Finally had a day go my way 🤙
Great round!

Nice round! Had first round scoring +18 on gold tee! Super windy course as you mentioned. Congrats and nice shots!
Thanks! Keep chasing 😎
can you do a vid on your putter? Why'd you drop the scotty?

Good stuff man! Ur short game alignment can prob gain u a stroke or two.
🎉 great job, taking ego out of the equation leads to no blow-up holes and a really great round. Nice job
Thabks Paul appreciate it 👍 until we swing again!

So funny I shot my first sub 80 round here
Nice let's go!
How you liking that Cobra putter, is it staying in the bag? I’m team cobra myself! 😅

You got a +4 in my book. No way am I taking OB peanatly strokes if i can hit it! #BARG
I didn't see no white stakes 🙈 haha. BARG ALL DAY!

Golf is easy just make no doubles! 😎 See you soon John!
What is this nonsense you speak of, no doubles, no 3 putts?
Golf is easy right? 🤣
