This one has become my favourite track on the album over time. I love how chunky the riff is along with the vocaloid effect on Su's voice makes for a really interesting combination. Lyrically, I think its also interesting, because it seems to be addressing the fans who have complained that they have changed too much, telling them that change is both necessary and inevitable and inviting them them come along for Babymetal's new journey.
many believe this song is telling their fans that they have changed and will be different in the future. saying we all change and saying cannot go back to where they were is kind of also saying we are grown up now so dont expect the kawaii part like when they were young.
I think this song was written and recorded about 5 years ago, so I'm not sure the lyrics represent their plans for today. They still play Gimme Chocolate, Doki Doki Morning, and such. I don't know if they will have any new songs that are kawaii in a childish way, but do they really need to make new songs like that when they can just play the old ones when they want to?
I mean it literally says that in the lyrics of the song, we don’t really “believe” anything haha. “We just can’t go back to the way that we were …. The seasons change, we are not the same”
Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 The moment I heard that vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) style i knew Yuyoyuppe (aka YuppeMetal) was behind this song which also reminds me a lot to Kagerou, and no wonder why, he's the one behind that song too and he gives that BM style unique sound in songs like Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Megitsune and Monochrome recently. MoaMetal is also a fan of his work despite the ridiculous time signatures that torture them lol We also got the first full English lyrics of this new album after a while and the first time released in Japan. They already got three songs entirely in English but those were released internationally. This was written and recorded 5 years ago and you can even hear a more childish vocals. Like they said, this is a collaboration between past and present selves, and is about the fact that you don’t see the same thing that others see, the English lyrics express a different personality and pov. Here's some official info: Believing (INVERTED MIRROR REFLECTION) _Even if the seasons change and time passes, some things remain the same and some change. When light reflects in the mirror, what appears are two faces and two relative worlds. Who should we believe: someone else’s words or your own?_ Some fans were enjoying this recently at Asian Tour, so like I told you before you probably gonna enjoy this one too. Good news, you already got the live version of this song to enjoy if you look for it.👍 The One is going crazy nowadays with the release of a new collab along with Lil Uzi Vert called The End, totally unexpected. Hope you can post something tomorrow or later for Japanese because is MoaMetal's birthday and she deserves some love, she's the Angel Of Love for a reason.❤ Keep enjoying your journey through this new album and thanks for sharing. Kitsune up and see you next time!🦊🤘🪞
Nice reaction. A fun tune for sure. Lyrically seems to be a message about how they have changes and so have their audiences. They're all grown up now. Seasons change. Personally, I like their old songs and I like their new songs just as much. The same when Metal Galaxy album came out. Worried at first how they were going to be without Yui. Then I got the album, and the answer was they'll be just fine. Now with Momoko coming on board. I have to say I was pulling for Momoko to become Momometal. I am happy she did and while she's not on the recording of the album. She is singing with Moa during the live shows now. We get to hear her do the new songs and some of the old ones. While those aren't the same as when Yui was there. Momoko is doing a great job on them. Seasons change. Better worse a matter of opinion. For me I like what I'm hearing and seeing. It seems you are too. Babymetal a new chapter a new season and new tour. Yeah!!!!
'Believing' is my favorite song on TOO and it is becoming my favorite Babymetal album all together. At first I was a bit put off by the heavy effects on the vocals but it does seem to work in this song. I get the feeling maybe that part is what they are thinking, like its the voice in the head thing. I could be way off of course but it's just a thought. The message is pretty clearly about wanting us to move forward with them and stop living in the past, ie when Yui was still there. I recall Moa saying something to that effect in her sweet way a while back. I also love how, during the 'Wherever you are. Wherever we are' part, Moa is the lead and Su is backing her with the Aa aa aahs.
Great reaction, thanks! Definitely one of my favorite songs off THE OTHER ONE alongside "Mirror Mirror", "METALIZM" and "MAYA". It was written and recorded by 2018 aprox. And many think that it's a direct message to a certain sector of the fans who never accepted Yui leaving and the changes they were forced to make. This is what Su-metal said about it (thanks to funnytoss for the translation): SU-METAL: This is the first song on an album released in Japan that has lyrics entirely in English. I mentioned earlier that English lyrics express a different personality, and it’s the same for this song’s message. It’s from someone else’s point of view, and is about the fact that you don’t see the same thing that others see. I think expressing this in English is quite interesting, and fits well with the concept of THE OTHER ONE, which is another world of BABYMETAL. This song was actually both written and recorded about 5 years ago. If you listen to it carefully, you can still hear a more childish voice, and it’s a collaboration between our past and present selves.
The stage in Yokohama had added choreography and the guitar was played even heavier. Combined with the lighting effects, it was a total modern and beautiful song 😍.
Love the lyrics, a call out that they're not gonna stay the cute girls we knew back in Gimme Chocolate, and they're gonna change....Also gives me major Tatu vibes.... some of you might be too young to who I'm talking about. 😅😅😅😂😂😂🤘🦊🤘
Nice one! Personally, I also believe that it is a message to the fans that they, and we, have changed and we can't go back...sad but very true. The electronic vocal effects sounded great!
Well fear not because ladies are back with a vengeance!! They just dropped a new MV titled "Metal" like just now feat. Tom Morello. Yes, i am speaking of Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello here lol. Track is a complete banger & Su-Metal vocals are insane on this!! A must see here!! 🤘🦊🎸🔥
Maybe it's time to meet 5 beautiful ladies in high heels and dresses playing classic heavy metal? For starters, I recommend the song Break the Wall from their earlier albums. Boasting over 70 hit singles, they won Best New Metal Band at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2018. The girls play heavy, thrash, power and prog metal, they also have some beautiful ballads - ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html
If you are metal core boy, you cannot ignore the best Japanese metal core band called Crystal Lake . Apollo, Omega, Devil cry and Hail to the Fire, are the best songs of all. So good!
If only it had been in Japanese and perhaps lyrically less of a blunt hammer........... tbh for me their previous stuff was more about band engagement/presence & girls participation rather than the Kawaii - got tbh - it DID feel to me like they had more energy and participation with Yui - but........I still love their stuff, especially mirror mirror and monochrome. Good reaction!

The fact that it's all in English supports that message too.
Probably also foreshadowing for not just their growth/adulthood, but also Momometal.

Great reaction ... I get the impression there is a message to a certain section of the fanbase in this song.🤔🦊

They only performed this song 3 times as of now. Luckily I'm able to watch it live in Malaysia tour last month. Such a banger!
I like "Believing"❤ and Happy birthday Moametal 🎂🎁🍕🍔🍗🍤🍡🎉

It's one of the song I listen the most of this new album, I love it !
Always remember, live is so much better. i never judge a BabyMetal song until i see the live .
😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼Happy birthday, Moa ❤🎂🥳

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOA KIKUCHI, BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY!
Just pass midnight in Japan, Happy Birthday Moa Metaaaaalllll!!!!!
Thanks for the reaction. This song grew on me after a few listens to it. Looks good live too.
Nice one! Personally, I also believe that it is a message to the fans that they, and we, have changed and we can't go back...sad but very true. The electronic vocal effects sounded great!
love everything about this song , especially the lyrics and meaning.
What is also interesting, one sentence in the song seems to maybe refer to: TATU all the things she said.
Very technical song to play on the drums. It’s the hardest to play from this album for sure
🤘🦊🤘

“Believing” epitomizes what Su had said during an interview with Billboard. That she returned to BabyMetal to try different things.
🔥🦊🔥
Oh the T.a.t.u. tribute song xD
Don't tell me you didn't hear "All the things she said" during the chorus 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely heard it!!!!! 🥰🔥🦊

4:16 The Wherever we are part is sung by Moa, not Su, an error in the video.
👍 👍
