Love it!! And yes, that was the Deadman Gap story as told by the great Todd Shelley. The other story I've heard is that when they were building the trail through that area, they found the corpse of a dead man up there in that area. Maybe both stories are true, reinforcing the name "Deadman Gap". You're killin' it out there girl! Sleep well and dream of rockless trails. 😂
I saw your photos in the OT facebook group. Thanks for pointing me to your channel. I couldn't tell from your photos if you went east to west or west to east. It's clear now. I am planning to try to do the full trail in about the same timeframe next fall. You started late in the year. I was wondering if you might have trouble with the short days. My plan for the first night is to make it to the Holson Valley shelter. It looks like that was your plan too. What time in the morning did you start on the trail that first day? It looks like you got a pretty early start. That guys you ran into at the end of the day there seems like an oddball. People are weird. You never know what you're going to see on the trail.
Yes, the short days were challenging. I had to start setting up tent around 4.30pm or 5pm at the latest. But next week when I start again, going the other direction, ill have daylight till 6.30pm. Yeahh
Great video, love the honest approach

Nice trails
Great to see you back on the trail! Stay warm.
You totally are going to finish. The trail seems reminiscent of the AT. Particularly the PA section with all those rocks. Stay safe out there!
Good to see you back on the trail. Maybe a warmup for another AT thruhike ?
