In this video i hit up the South Shore of Long Island targeting striped bass and blue fish. Since i haven't been able to fish as much this Spring, i was determined to find fish! I skunked out at the first beach but it was nice and early so i hit up another beach. I got into a couple gator blues before the tide got to low and the bite died. It sure felt good to get a bend in my rod again, and it should only get better from here on out! I hope you enjoy the video and as always....Thanks for watching!

SP Minnow might be the best all purpose Striper/Bluefish lure ever made. I am convinced after last year's season.
Sp minnows are a must have! They really do work so good🎣
I mean it's basically just a large Rapala, but for some reason it is an absolute fish magnet. I kind of don't even get it lol. All I know is I now have nearly every color in nearly every size. For me, the blue ones work best, like the blue mackerel color. Tight Lines!
Top water poppers are amazing also. One of my favorite is the tsunami talking popper! The 6” and 8”

Great video man! im trying to catch blues now before the season ends, ive never caught one, my bait shop near my house recomended me a diamond jig, but ive tried fishing off piers and have had no luck:( where is that last beach at if u dont mind telling me? Thanks❤️ keep up the great vids, just got urself a sub🔥
Piers are usually crap only a few times they produce large blues. They are full of small blue snappers, less than 10 inch chasing minnows. Your best bet is to find a nice beach and /or a jetty and try your luck. Keep an eye on the tidal movement, the best time is either the water is rising or dropping, but other factors also play a role, like the weather.
Always enjoy your videos. Nice of you to give that guy your catch. There's plenty of blues and I have no problem giving blues away myself when people ask and as long as they eat them. Also, sorry about your house. I hope you're all settled now. Hope to see more vids soon!

The lure link points to the salt pro minnow bullet, but you were using the regular salt pro minnow.

@@jamesschlickoutdoors I did get to rebuild myself as I grew up doing construction and was a carpenter by trade. I lost everything in the fire and what isn't burnt is destroyed from the smoke and water. I hope you recover quickly man. I don't know where you live, but if you need to chat or if I can help in anyway message me. A lot of others helped me during that time and I'd like to give that back to others.

Why do you call them gator blue's?
That's just a nickname for the big adult sized blue fish since they are so big, aggressive, and strong. Not to mention they could snip a finger right off if you put your hand in their mouth😲

Man, I don’t wanna be rude or something but I dont wanna give them even if it’s a keeper. Here in MD especially in Point Look Out and Greenwell they keep and hide everything, from 18-inch to smaller striper, 8-inch to smaller croaker and bluefish and even 4-inch or smaller blue crabs. They’re depleting the stocks. By the way I’m an angler and a biologist by profession.
