Erica finally got on, not only her first saltwater surf fishing fish of the year, while searching for Striped Bass here on Long Island, she got on her first fish overall. While I have been catching freshwater bass and more, she hasn't caught a thing. Now she has! She's broken the ice!

Where you caught the Bunker is close to Brackish water and the bass come in there to spawn. I have caught many legal Bass there

Just started surf fishing and using your channel as a guide. Went out early this morning to the south shore and all I caught was bunker. I didn’t know what they were until another angler there told me but I was super excited haha. A few of the other guys caught some schoolies? (Not sure) but nothing else. Looking forward to the next vid!

I was at Wantah pier last week doing the same thing. All a caught was ticks! Everywhere ticks. I must have had 5-6 of them on my pants. Be careful! It's very early to see that many ticks

Been watching the migration, hoping to get up there from PA and fish with a buddy and kids soon. Any idea when the big stripers will show in the sound. Current reports aren’t sounding great at all. Tight lines, great vid.
So far I think we are all getting the same reports. Only small holdovers around the island for now.

I live near your 2nd and 3rd spots. No luck for me either. Those spots haven’t been great recently with all the sewage pollution from the plant and people keeping small fish
we noticed all the garbage floating by while we were there. So sad because it used to be such a beautiful spot
@@ericao2559 agreed that sewage plant is falling apart it overflows and gets dumped into the bay all the time. Definitely wouldn’t eat crabs lol

Anyone got any long island bass reports (that’s not queens or city)
only holdovers around the island is all we are hearing. It’s still early.
Saw one Striper caught at dusk yesterday on a South Shore oceanfront beach...24" +/-
Lots of bait but nothing on it.
Friday evening there were a few Dolphins that swam by ...surprised me to see them.
All reports from fellow fishermen saying fish are in NJ and hopefully we see them arrive here in a few weeks
