- Опубліковано 10 бер 2024
- For part 1 of this multipart video tutorial series, I walk you through the steps of removing the motor from Bachmann's On30 Two Truck Shay, confirm that the motor and all the gears in the gear tower are functional, lubricate the motor assembly, break in the motor and reassemble the locomotive.
Great tutorial, Sean. Looking forward to the next installment!
Just saw this now. Thanks for making this series
Great video. Just a couple of notes. Use some tweezers for handling the heat shrink and the wires. This will keep your hands out of the way of the camera. Second, tin your soldering iron and clean the tip... it will work much better for you!
I think this is a great video. Looking forward to the next part!!
Haha I was waiting to see who would yell at me first for not tinning my soldering iron.
Thanks to you and Thunder/Dave for this. I was able to get new trucks from Bachmann but your info was helpful in retro fitting them thanks
Un grand merci pour ce tutorial, votre démonstration va m'aider beaucoup dans la mise à neuf de ma Shay. merci beaucoup
Thanks! With three Shay’s to upgrade, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Thanks Sean for sharing your Shay passion.
Awesome video , can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Nice video and looking forward to more. But OMG, clean that soldering iron tip. My OCD got triggered big time. :)
:D My laziness got the better of me
When we say the Shay has bad gears, what gears are we talking about? The ones below the motor or are they typically located in the trucks?
They are on the trucks. However, on rare occasion there are some bad gears in the gear tower.
@@Seanmmvi Great news. I have new trucks waiting for some Shay, as well as the drive shafts that YOU had Bachmann re-produce. Thanks for your dedication to our hobby. Thank you.
6:21 "Put a dop of glue between those two gears right here" I think you mean oil? 😮
I just got one off ebay, rear drive no longer works.
This tutorial should get you right as rain ;)
@@WanderingSpruce just ordered new drives and clips encase I break em
dumb question... why do americans pronounce solder - sodder?
Jolly good point, old chap! Let's go down the boozer and discuss it proper like. It's your round!
