Yo thanks for the kind words my man; was so awesome to catch up and get out to ride again after so many years. Already looking forward to next time! 🤘 p.s. I still can't believe how fast you got down Paint It Black riding blind in the wet like that... 🤯
This video was awesome. I miss seeing Alexander’s videos and his riding has definitely improved. Phil, you hit that jump line so nicely it makes it look like you’re flying calmly through space. That slick terrain looked pretty sketchy too but y’all killed it! Keep up the good work!
Man Phil has been on absolute fire lately 🔥🔥🔥 His channel definitely leveled up in 2021. Seems happier and to be enjoying it more. This one was sick (Mountain Creek was great too).
I think the talent you demonstrate is quite breath-taking Phil. Wet, rooty, leafy, slippery, off-camber (all the things that make most of us slow down) and you are still flying down at phenomenal speed. So good to watch. Thanks
I ALWAYS enjoy watching Phil ride so much, there's just something about his style that's beyond boss level. He makes it look effortless, fun and gnarly at the same time. A rolling paradox.. 🤙 But man oh man how sick it was to get some follow cam on the STS. Even though he mentioned being a bit dialed back he ride like an absolute ace in those slippery conditions. Popping like a bunny and throwing him fearlessly through tight turns 🤘
The skill you show off in this video is insane! I think it may be because I have ridden all of the trails in the video bu the fact u bombed paint it so fast in the wet blind is crazy. I remember sliding down the steep section of paint it on my but during the go nuts enduro there in august and you just shredded it!
Phil - another great video of you pushing the stoke on everything you touch and we get Alex at the same time. The 2 for 1 deal. May I have another. Alex was putting on his own stoke. I love watching him rip the berms. Thanks for continuing to have an impact on so many of us.
Yewwwww!! Those trails look super fun! Would love to see those on dry day with no leaves. ... Stop by Allaire when you make your way back north, there's some super fun new lines on the "east side". Would love to session with you!🤙
You ever venture West a little bit and hit up White Clay or Brandywine? Been to Allaire a few times. Remember there being a lotta sand and it was real flat, but it's a big place and I probably missed some spots.
"That's the feeling I crave, but I don't want it all the time." " you mean mean don't constantly want to be on the precipice of disaster" This exchange is the best mountain biking summery of all time.
I love some Kanuga! Great to see you guys enjoying it! I’m lucky enough to be able to do it as a day trip. Two of my riding buddies went today. Much more fun without the wet leaves
Dude, the wet leaf traction your managing to maintain is epic! Choosing a new tire: Enduro, Downhill, or the new Maxxis Phil tire - good for high speed descents in: wet, dry, rocky, mud, leaves, quicksand, molten lava, blue ice, zero gravity, and additionally, is impervious to any Harry Potter jinxes or curses! Keep doing what you do!
Looks great there Phil. Andrew has come SO far. Lots of thanks to Seth for it lol! Anyway, I'm real depressed. I crashed on "Gronk" back in July at Thunder Mtn in Mass. Doc says I need surgery to repair the ligaments I tore in my shoulder. I didn't realize until I couldn't ride anymore, just how much I've fallen in love with this sport. I was wearing my gear, my Bell Super-R saved my head for sure. I'm 49, but I grew up riding dirt bikes and bmx bikes as a kid and that desire never really went away. Then, Covid hit and America, (well, the world really) went silly buying bikes. I ended up spending around $4000 on a YT Jeffsy 27.5 and like I said, fell in love with it. I've met a ton of great guys already n have been hitting large drops and wanted to get into jumps again like when I was young...so yeah....bummer. Love your channel and content. Been watching you for a couple of years. Maybe I'll meet you someday and you can sign my bike hahaahaaa.
You may want to check out the new San Lee Gravity Park at some point. It reopens today, and apparently the builders did a really nice job on the advanced trails. Not tamed down like everyone expected.
So cool to see you riding the same trails I rode a couple months ago (although much better lol). I crashed where Alex had trouble on Paint it Black - its tough. Also appreciate seeing you clear the stick off the trail - makes it better for the rest of us.
Wild. I went to school at tc Roberson and AB Tech and grew up in Hendersonville. Wish I would’ve got into mountain biking when I lived there before joining the army
Keep in mind this is when i was ~17 and Richie was a few years younger than me. We knew back then he had the potential to be one of the best riders, we just thought it'd be downhill racing. Enduro wasn't even a discipline at this time!
You should check out a pretty new bike park called ride rock creek. It’s about 20 minutes away from Kanuga and has a shuttle open all year round. It’s a really sick place
Place looks fun even in the rain 🤣🤣 I actually race GNCC its a good time. I was at powder ridge sunday and it snowed about a 1/2” in the morning made riding pretty interesting 😬😬 Another great vid man 🤘
Kanuga rocks. Some of the best shaped jumps in the game. Been there a couple times when it’s dry but I’d imagine wet leaves and slick hard pack clay make for a white knuckle experience. We followed a group down Paint it Black and one of them ended up in the trees after that first drop. Believe he broke his leg but we didn’t stick around to find out. Sick ride nonetheless.
Yeah sucks having to pedal up, next time I'll rent an ebike, but I agree. Been pretty much to every bike park along the East Coast and Kanuga has some of, if not the best jump trails around. I wouldn't wanna ride in these conditions though. As you know, it's a lot steeper and rockier in person, and with the wet leaves and a lotta trails being off camber, I'd be pretty nervous.
You are so smooth! It's really cool watching you ride local to me trails. I'm planning a Whistler trip in 2023 and have been working on my jumping skills because I really want to send some of the jump trails there, particularly A-Line. I'm just starting to clear some of SE Style now. How would you compare SE Style to the jump trails in Whistler?
Hey Phil, next time you're down here in the southeast you should definitely check out the new RideBHM park in Birmingham AL. I'd love to show you around!
Dude was right it is Grand National Cross County. It's the premier east coast off road trail series. It's probably the third biggest moto series in the US behind Supercross and Motocross.
Phil, for the love of God, give me the special abilities like you have to not suck like I do. LOL. I've been down for 8 weeks and went ridding over the weekend.... it hurt... Great vid as always. Hopefully in the spring I'll get to hit Kanuga and Kolo.
Yo dude, I live about 15 minute drive from big Brutus the steam shovel. There's some MTBing in southeast Kansas believe it or not and were just about a hour and 20 mins from Bentonville AR you shred too btw Phil

Killing it man!
You still in avl?? Do a sub ride at kanuga..got to ride with bobo recently and it was a blast
Man Phil has been on absolute fire lately 🔥🔥🔥 His channel definitely leveled up in 2021. Seems happier and to be enjoying it more. This one was sick (Mountain Creek was great too).
Agreed!
I like how Phil was stoping to throw sticks off the trail just being a great guy to the builders
“How hard is the trail?”
“Phil was breathing hard going down it”
“Oh bro, no way am I hitting it then”
That trail is amazing in person; you gotta make it up there to try it sometime. The whole park is worth the trip!
@@printerror I’m pretty new to MTB, it’ll be a little bit before I start venturing out of state to get some new stoke.
@@OscarGonzalez-bq3ph Welcome to MTBing then Oscar. You'll get there!
That seat grab on the jump was SMOOTH!

Awesome.. I have no idea how you're not sliding out on the wet leaves!

I was terrified when you dropped in with “this will be my last run of the day” 😬
Phil is immune to the voodoo.
So I wasn't alone in that thought! I was like Nooo he didn't just say that.

Crazy satisfying to watch Phil clear every jump line so effortlessly.
You two could almost pass as brothers! Great video Phill. :)
They seriously do. I never noticed that before.
I didn't know who was who after following them from Seth's videos
Thank you for an awesome video! I miss the wet trails back east! Great to see the Sampler with ya! 🤘
