I was there! I was 16 and at the pique of my LSU Fandom. Boy did this loss tear my world apart.

Late arrival saw the game in Reno NV came so close on bet LSU to win glad I didn't. I saw T K Metcalf father Terrance as lineman. Forgot how nice it was to hear Dixie from band to celebrate scoring and good plays.
Last Ole Miss/ LSU game in Baton Rouge I've missed, still kicking myself over that one. Hotty Toddy!

I was a place kicker in college. Tuberville should have grabbed that kicker by the facemask and said in a calm voice: "Find something else to do. Monday morning your scholarship will be revoked. We ask ONE thing of you, and you can't even give us that."
Man I loved this Team .. Loved being in the Band that year . Wasn't particularly talented ( some freshman were going to be good ) but man they played . an half our coaching staff was on it :) -omoplata

LSU in 1997 had their biggest upset of number one Florida at home the week before getting so many pats on the back and were caught completely off guard got their butt kicked by Ole miss next week
Is there still recordings of the songs David kellum used to do after games ... like "monster mash " parody for this game ? or "You gotta believe " for SMU comeback

Your comment is 5 years old, but it's still pretty weird. It was one of the top 3 or 4 easily. Two of the others were against Ole Miss, during a time when a win over them was considered big.

Nice comeback win for the Rebels! The duo of Tim Brando and whats-his-name, have to be the worst commentators in the history of college football, even worse than Lundquist and Danielson.
YOU are sadly mistaken in your misguided analogy. Lundquist & Danielson were a GREAT team...one of the BEST.
(I will say, though, that Brando & his 'color' commentator were laughable juveniles at best).
