Tmac Kjr J&E are actually my parents and I’ll tell you one thing; they raised me to be respectful of my environment around me, whether natural or in an urbex surrounding. We have gone on urbex adventures together for years, and even before they started their UA-cam channel, they still followed the urbex rules. If they raised me to be respectful and to follow the rules, why would they do the complete opposite? Most people in the urbex community know the rules and unfortunately find ways to sabotage people that they see as competition or enemies. It sounds a bit dramatic, I know, but it’s happened to several urbex channels. I grew up here.... spent my childhood at that hotel. My mother and father both worked there. It is a trip seeing that place like that... fiddles had some of the best ice cream and hot dogs in all of New York. Thanks for sharing this
Hey guys, it's so crazy seeing my old home like that. It truly was an amazing place to live. Seeing that place brought back so many memories. Thanks for the video. It's Branden one of 5 that lived there.
@@holdthewinds We left in 2005, reason being is the owner of that hotel, Fred, was also the land lord of that home. The hotel had a kitchen fire and he tried to rebuild, hence why it was being restored. But he ended up selling the hotel and moved to Florida and the new owners didn't want to rent the house out. So we ended up having to move. But that house sat on 254 Acres or so of land. And acually was haunted! But not in a bad way. Two elderly people lived there and died in that house. The old man in the red room which was the kitchen and the elder lady in that room with the table and chair, with the wall paint chipping. Which was the laundry room. You would hear foot steps going up and down the wood steps at night. See glowing white orbs go in and out of rooms. But the feeling you got when you seen this was warm and comforting. Fiddlers was a hot spot for teens to hang out. Right behind fiddlers was an amazing pizza parlor. Awsome wings and pizza. When I lived there it was still alive but not much went on in that town. But one cool fact is that Ron Jeremy, "porn star" acually worked at that hotel. And just so everyone knows we did not leave that home with all that trash laying about, yes few things but not the condition it is now.
Olsen Viking wow thanks for giving the history of your place. I bet seeing the house brought back a lot of memories. It’s so interesting but kind of sad. I have a similar story. We used to live in an old farmhouse on about 11 acres. House was also haunted, but I never could find out exactly what happened. Same thing, it wasn’t scary or evil type activity. I wasn’t afraid to be there or anything. Our landlord ended up selling the property to a landfill down the road. The landfill only wanted the land in back of the house which was just fields so they could expand. They let us stay another year and then we had to move out. The house sits abandoned. I actually only live a few miles away and drive by the house on my way to my sisters. I’ve actually gone back 2 or 3 times, to see the condition. The last time I went back there a huge sectional on the first floor that wasn’t ours so people have clearly been in the house. I don’t think I’ll ever go back again because of that. So sad to just see it rotting away. I had a lot of good times there. I am also 1 of 5 lol! Thanks again for sharing, I love stuff like this.
This town is about 20 minutes from me. Each time I drive through it gives me chills. The reason for it being abandoned is that the highway that is next to the town State Highway 17, once brought immense commerce to the town. Now State Highway 17 is on its way to become an interstate and Parksville was cut off as a result.
The problem is these business relies visibility from passer by to get business, with the new freeway bypass, despite having near direct exit, they are tucked inside virtually invisible, they made no effort or they lack resources to promote themselves. To make things worse, stiff competition from the nearby towns along the 17 such as Liberty.
Sorry to tell you, but you both are wrong......The town was abandoned because of the ongoing coal fires burning in the mine beneath the town and it just became too toxic for people to live there anymore. If you don't believe me, just look it up, it's well documented. I hope this helps you both understand the plight these people went through that lived there and hopefully you both will not post comments on subject matter you know nothing about, or at least you won't make up something especially when you both knew nothing about what really happened............
Just because you live 20 minutes from there doesn't mean you know the reason the town was abandoned, because I'm sorry to tell you, but once again you are wrong, just do some research and you'll see, as I said, it's because of the coal fires 🔥 that to this day are still burning in the mines under the town. So please, stop giving the wrong reasons for the towns abandonment.
I grew up in Parksville. Like on the other side of the hill from that hotel. The "in and out diner" was actually a very famous ice cream stand called Fiddles. I used to go there all the time as a kid. And yes, the blue goo flavor was delicious. Breaks my heart what it has become. As others have said, that last building we a rehab facility. Up until a year ago one of the county's most popular restaurants was right down the road from the main intersection, but the couple who ran it retired. The town is hardly abandoned.
Amazing! When I first started following your channel a few years back, you only had about 30,000 subs. See where all the hard work, focus, positive attitude and rising above all the negative people gets you? What an achievement! Well done Josh!!! 👍
It is actually music from Silent Hill games, I love that old franchise, used to be a kid when the first game came out in 99, I first finished the first game in 2008 being through a depression. The franchise and above all the music cured me from that depression. Peaceful.
When you showed footage of the pharmacy, there was a bottle on the shelf labeled Rautrax. I looked it up and it was apart of a study between the 1950’s-1970’s where 28 patients were treated. It didn’t say what they were treated for or what it was doing in a random pharmacy in the middle of nowhere🧐

You should come to my grandad's truck, tractor and buss graveyard in the forest next to his farm in the swedish northern forest. Even I go to explore there, it's insane. Seeing nature take over is so crazy, the old trucks has been standing so long the tires are sunken down into the ground and there's a truck with trees growing from it's wooden trailer. It's so quiet and peaceful there only you in the forest surrounded by vehicles that used to help the economy.
@@Kid98. oh wow that's dope! It is like I said my grandfather's land, he owns a forest and a huge farm his uncle built. There are sheds and old buildings but I'm not sure he would allow all to be filmed, there's a barn filled with stuff and even cars from the 60s, there are two busses beautifully abandoned, there is a shed in the forest with horse carriages from his parents. This is on his land, like outside my house, well I moved but my dad still lives there for now haha there is two liveable houses on the farm land if that makes sense. But anyway in the forest were he dumped cars and trucks everywhere is the good stuff, there's even an old tractor like super old, the trucks has to be like maybe 70-80s time there are old cars and scap metal everywhere. On the other side of the main road there's a lake and my grandad had a cabin and own part of the land where we created a swimming area. The cabin is basically abandoned, a few years ago it stood completely untouched but since two years it's been used during summer again so it was cleaned a shame for explorers haha but anyway no one has been allowed to film there so Josh would be the first if my grandfather would agree but since he loves his scrap perhaps he would like to know poeple can admire his hoarding lol Sorry for the essay but I feel like my old house is a explorer haven it just has never been explored 😂 Oh there's also an old military bike and bicycles. He used to have a bus that was from the 30s but he sold it since he couldn't upkeep it it was a gem 😔
for the people asking what happened: this town was actually SUPER popular when i was younger. it was basically the highway for the county. then, they started building the new state highway straight through Parksville which ultimately led to it being abandoned. There’s still a gas station and restaurant that are still open here!! it’s not completely abandoned lol. if you have any questions drop them below!! i don’t live too far from here so ik a lot

I stumbled upon a town similar to this one in upstate NY. It was close to the canadian border. The town died when the lumber mill and electricity shut down. 2 churches, a huge hotel, post office and at least 80 cabin & vacation homes. All just sitting there. Some were converted into hunting camps. This place reminds me of that town.

I'm so glad you clarified that no all Ghost Towns are abandoned completely. Here in Idaho we have a few Ghost Towns that are inhabited, but since there's not many people left in them they're considered Ghost Towns. They were more popular in the Gold Rush Era, but soon they started dwindling and are more tourist locations than anything. So many people think Ghost Towns have to be completely abandoned or it's not a real Ghost Town.

Do you guys have a video of your exploration in this town? I looked through a bit of your channel, but didn't see anything. I really enjoyed seeing this whole town and would like to see it from your view as well
@@TheOGNoName hey.. we have some of the town in pics.. havent posted those yet.. but look for best western hotel and day top rehab.. the rehab is the same place that josh did.. but ours is more indepth

It is a United Methodist church. Just commenting on what the symbolism means. Lifetime Methodist, lol
Yes that's Methodist Church there's Methodist Church in Philippines too
Hey guys, it's so crazy seeing my old home like that. It truly was an amazing place to live. Seeing that place brought back so many memories. Thanks for the video. It's Branden one of 5 that lived there.
Olsen Viking are you being serious if so 👀❤️
@@marleyrose1605 yeah I'm serious. Lol
@Olsen Viking (Branden) how long has your old home been abandoned? Tell us more about your house and the town.
@@Red196930 how can something keep burning sooooo damn long?
Michael L because it is a coal mine underneath, coal is all underneath the ground if it catches fire it continues to burn it does not burn like wood

The music you add in the background makes it even more magical and ominous.
It is actually music from Silent Hill games, I love that old franchise, used to be a kid when the first game came out in 99, I first finished the first game in 2008 being through a depression. The franchise and above all the music cured me from that depression. Peaceful.

The cabin is basically abandoned, a few years ago it stood completely untouched but since two years it's been used during summer again so it was cleaned a shame for explorers haha but anyway no one has been allowed to film there so Josh would be the first if my grandfather would agree but since he loves his scrap perhaps he would like to know poeple can admire his hoarding lol
Sorry for the essay but I feel like my old house is a explorer haven it just has never been explored 😂

for the people asking what happened: this town was actually SUPER popular when i was younger. it was basically the highway for the county. then, they started building the new state highway straight through Parksville which ultimately led to it being abandoned. I’d love to come check this town out sometime. I’m from Maine.
Do you know what the last building they explored was? Was it a community for recovering addicts?
I stumbled upon a town similar to this one in upstate NY. It was close to the canadian border. The town died when the lumber mill and electricity shut down. 2 churches, a huge hotel, post office and at least 80 cabin & vacation homes. All just sitting there. Some were converted into hunting camps. This place reminds me of that town.

I'm so glad you clarified that no all Ghost Towns are abandoned completely. Here in Idaho we have a few Ghost Towns that are inhabited, but since there's not many people left in them they're considered Ghost Towns.
