For multitude of "homeless" it was their choice. They choose not to contribute to society & endure their plight willingly. Legal migrants are welcome bec they work to strive. The ministry is doing what it should for those that are deserving.
@@peziki Perhaps, but I want to point out, you said Legal. Many NGOs and the Catholic Church will be sheltering and protecting illegals And many do not qualify for asylum, many are Men. If they don't qualify and are denied they appeal and will not leave. Just saw an interview on TV last night, a guy was deported at the border 6 times, yet he said he would still try to get in, come on, who can agree with that BS.
What are they doing for homeless American citizens, veterans? I'm from Oregon and I'm concerned not knowing who these people are and I'm disheartened to see our veterans homeless. 🙏
I'm a Republican but even i don't believe in breaking up families if someone is married to a American citizen or if children were brought here and have grown up here don't need to be removed
Not just their fault. Sanctuary cities started way before that. We need to hold our own State government responsible, organize & tell every elected official they won’t get re-elected by the people if they support Oregon being a sanctuary city.
@@sassyd7286 Oregon is a state not a city. That might work in the more rural areas of Oregon but have you met anybody that lives in Portland/Multnomah county? That's not going to happen, and since they make the policy for the state essentially, you're not going to remove the promise to be a sanctuary state. Being designated as a sanctuary city or state isn't even a legal status, it's a pledge by the local government. But for some reason I think they'd still need to put it to a vote to remove it? Have you seen how they vote? The whole thing makes no sense. Trump can threaten to pull federal aid but if what he is threatening to pull has nothing to do with ICE or immigration enforcement, for example SNAP(?) or housing(?), he can't actually do that. And if the removal is deemed to be discriminatory in some way it will again be blocked. There isn't much aid directly tied to that which I can think of that he can pull. Have you seen what's happening in Chicago or New York city? People are close to rioting and their mayors still refuse to remove the sanctuary status. The liberal constituency won't have it. Once an area is declared a sanctuary it's almost impossible to remove. It is what it is.
@@crushedorchids Well these illegals can be bused to whomever State or City Rep VOTED for sanctuary City or State status. If most elected officials haven't seen a map after the elections mostly RED, midterms will be here before we know it. The American people aren't having it.
Can you show me in the Bible, where it talks about a church can give sanctuary if a church gives sanctuary then they,i lose their tax exemption see how fast they will be a sanctuary church then they don’t pay taxes on their properties and saying their sanctuaries
Religion and politics have always been connected, where have you been under a rock? Have you not heard of the term theocracy or the crusades? Separation of state and church is still a fairly new concept. I bet if he voted for Trump you'd be fine with him.
No it's not. Trump can't get around due process. All he's going to do is waste a bunch of time and money tying up the courts and increase the public defender shortage. Even if they are here illegally they still have the right not to be deported until they get a hearing, and that can take a very long time. He can't just snap his fingers like you think he can, he doesn't have that kind of power. That's what the different branches of the government and the legal system prevent. Whether you are for or against him he isn't a king that can make sweeping declarations and it gets done. He'll be blocked at almost every turn. Even the stacked supreme court rules against him sometimes.
There is all kinds of sanctuary for criminals in the US. Due process can drag on for months and years. There are registered and non registered sex offenders enjoying life every block of every city. Or is it just the foreign criminals you're offended by?
I feel for migrants but what about the homeless right outside the door? 1000 spaces available but none for them.
Just goes to show where the church priorities are at!

A judge just said it doesn't matter if they are married to an American citizen they can be deported
This is absolutely hilarious
You're welcome here as long as you come here legally never will we ever tolerate that happening any other way end of story

💯💥right. It's a disgrace here in Washington state. ⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺

It's not my concern. You open your own home for gangs and criminals. I'm certainly NOT opening my home. Thats we have laws and locks.
Speak for yourself, illegal is illegal, period.
Why do you drop the illegal part of the conversation?
Let's send ICE to check the priests' citizen legal status as well.😮😮
Nobody can just "send ICE" to do anything. They need warrants just like any other law enforcement.
@crushedorchids Trump has a new DOJ in his administration. Trump is the new Sheriff in town! 😎
Dictator has arrived. 😂😂😂
I guess we know where to start
‘We’re all grieving here’. Speak for yourself, dummy 🤣
Blame Harris and Biden .
