Jason Downs No. This was par for the course for this show. I actually like it better than Real Time. Real Time is full of heavy duty, wonky politicos intensely debating issues. Bill's old show wasn't as smart but it was a lot funnier.
Yes, this was the pilot so this panel was pretty stacked for 1993, especially for Comedy Central. The show was filmed in NYC back then, and the Howard Stern show had a massive audience, so having Robin Quivers on the first episode was a smart move to get free plugs on the Stern show for that audience to tune in.
I believe this is the VERY FIRST episode (which aired on Comedy Central). Because I know that Robin Quivers was on the very show, and I believe that was her only appearance. I'm a big Howard Stern fan & remember it coming up on Howard's show over the years. In fact, I think I even remember them plugging her appearance, prior to it's original airing.
Jerry and Bill were (and are) longtime pals from their days at the Comedy Store (with Jay Leno). That's why Jerry agreed to come on the pilot episode of PI. But when the show evolved into guests espousing their political opinions Seinfeld declined to appear again. They're still friends, Maher even appeared on "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee".
So Robin had short hair in July 1993 and a few short months later when Howard Stern's show started to become filmed for TV in 1994 she all of a sudden had LONG hair. I don't think so.
I don't like how Seinfeld on all these interview shows during the Senfeld years is simply parroting back bits from the show whenever he wants to make a point about anything. It seems sad in hindsight this is all that he could muster beyond the show.

He did one little bit that was in his act, other than that he was quick and witty. And I still think Larry was the king. Just look at curb. If you don't like curb then ...
