HD-600CF NRG Carbon Hood Dampers Installed on my S13 180SX

I finally found out how to install these NRG hood dampers (part number HD-600CF) on my 180SX. There is this bracket that needs trimming in order to make them fit around the hood latch. Have a look at how the action on the low pressure dampers works!

Hey does your hood actually shut all the way without any interference? I bought Circuit sports version for my 240 and they have shocks going in opposite direction, but i might try how you have yours.

Well, actually there is some interference. Keep in mind I have a VIS carbon hood, and it may no be exactly the same as the stock steel one.
Right where the damper shock body screws into the aluminum extension (the silver rod) it tends to hit the under side bulge or reinforcement rib along the hood. I can fix it by trimming it where it hits but I haven't gotten to it yet. Because my hood is carbon it's flexible, and so it just bends about 3 mm above the fender line in the center of the hood.
I'm not very happy with the product's fit but I can say that the car is so much better without that stupid prop rod.
