    The most BS part is that you could have turned Eden into an amazing ally after making him self aware of his internal logic error. Persuade him to be a tool for you, use his command of the Enclave and his processing abilities to help YOU bring back America.

      The sad thing is that he, at most, would make for a good mouthpiece. The rest of the Enclave soldiers will still shoot you because they follow Autumn, not Eden, and Autumn marked you for death. At most, I can see Raven Rock being a base you can sleep in, and you'd be able to requisition new Enclave suits of armor along with plasma rifles, laser rifles, and Heavy Incinerators per day.

    I hope everyone realizes that by "mutants" he doesn't just mean Ghouls or Super Mutants but every single human being that isn't a vault dweller. The Enclave considers everyone who was born on the surface a mutant. Though its a step back, seeing how the FEV virus used to be airborne in Fallout 2. And the plan was the same...
    Wait, how is this creative again? Did someone install Vista on our president?

      Actually the FEV virus was also going to be deployed into earth's oceans via the oil rig the enclave base is located on, supposedly the current would eventually "carry it all over the entire planet" but it still seems like an iffy plan at best even back then.
      Anyway my point was it was never an airborne virus otherwise they may very well have already used it on the wasteland proper.

    • @shaun5809

      Yeah, same here. He's an AI, so he justifies genocide using super intelligence, because he's programmed to continue the American government, by any means necessary. I wouldn't mind killing off the hostile Vault 87 Super Mutants, but Ghouls are actually people, and there's no point in killing innocent wastelanders. I would've liked to see something along the lines of the Lone Wanderer actually replacing Colonel Autumn in the Enclave, and turning on the Brotherhood of Steel. I haven't blown up the Citadel, because I hear that no matter what, the Enclave will be hostile towards you. Not much point in siding with them.

      The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
      There is no such thing as “purity of mankind”, it’s a dangerous ideology that’s counter to natural evolution. Besides the FEV and the nuclear war created and instigated by the very same powers that be and the masses are always the ones that pay.

    • @liftfork
      @liftfork 4 роки тому +6

      No he does not.
      The Master had good intentions. He believed that turning people into mutants he was saving humanity by bringing them into a new existence, but then you point out his plan is flawed and that they will all eventually die. That is an example of good intentions.
      Eden wants you to genocide the wasteland, and admits that it will kill anyone who is not Enclave or from a vault, such as you. That's not good intentions, that's openly admitting to wishing to commit genocide on what's left of humanity.

    • @johnlucas2838
      @johnlucas2838 4 роки тому +1

      Would the FEV also kill the Enclave, it's not like the FEV would have different effects on them. But for sure the FEV would not affect Super Mutants because it is the FEV that creates them, literally. What Eden is doing is creating a genetic dead end in humanity's evolution, for it is mutation that dictates what gets passed on in humanity's lineage, mutation is good and or bad in evolution, what happens is if it's good then that genetic line will be passed on and if it doesn't, well it dies. In the end, it all comes down to genetics, and if we look at Fallout 2, FEV affected an Enclave officer in the same way it did to the so called "mutants."
      This genocide dubbed as purification or purge, is a lie, a falsehood, and the intent is based upon an assertion with no fact to back it up, instead with fact that goes against it.

I played with pretty much all of the options (had saved just before) and found this to be a good choice if you played to have a 'smart' character. I do like how you can convince Eden to blow himself up; it's a nice callback to the Master in the original Fallout. Speaking of the original Fallout, that game told us that a nuke had hit an FEV facility during the war blowing it sky high, mixing it with the radioactive fallout, the wind carried it across the country. In essence, EVERYONE in the wasteland is infected with an FEV strain. What Eden doesn't realize is that the modified FEV he gives you won't just affect Ghouls and Super Mutants; it'll affect everyone, including his own soldiers.

      I agree with Mr. House, but certainly not Institute or Eden, the only way to make Institue good is that your character(considering he would've had Very Good Karma in Fallout 4) would eventually became the Director of Institue and would actually help the people of the Commonwealth, but since 3 of 4 ending tell you to destroy it and Institue ending considered as evil one and you following their initial ideology to experiment on people it stays evil because of Bethesda writing's """pure genious""". About Eden tho, it's evil if you like it or not. Only House out of 3 has actual plans for the future of mankind. But only few people playing New Vegas realize that, but commodity often sides with NCR or Yes Man for a variety of reasons, "MUH DeMocRacY" or "I Am ThE RuLeR", and/or "MuH BrOtHeRhOoD", oh please

      @johnlucas2838 4 роки тому

      @@CalacaRoja Eden is not the best option, he's one of the worst. Mr. House is one of the best options and the Institute is a possibility. Genocide isn't a solution, and dead locking humanity's genetics into a dead end is bad, because evolution is dictated by mutation, dependent on if said mutation is good or bad. If the mutation is beneficial and good then it'll be passed on through a lineage and if the mutation is malignant, causes negatives to man, and bad then it'll eliminate itself because the ones who bear it will die out. In a sense mutation works in line with survival of the fittest. FEV either changes one into a Super Mutant or kills them, one is a genetic dead end and the other in essence cuts off the path of evolution and progression, the Forced Evolutionary Virus feels like an opposite to evolutions methods.

    You can easily "brick" the President with the Robotics Expert perk. You will got an option when you talk to him. The Wanderer just says "I'm tired of this. Activate self-destroy protocol", something like that.

    A Computer is still a computer.

    West Coast super mutants all derive from the Mariposa Military Base in california , Harold (the tree mutant at the Oasis) was a caravan merchant & prospector that was one of the first people to be exposed to the mariposa strain of FEV when he & Richard Grey went exploring the abandoned base, Harold turned into a Ghoul-like mutant with a plant growing on his head, while Richard Grey was transformed into a grotesque telepathic monster called the "master" .

    There are I suppose similarities to Edens plans and those of caesar. Both seek to eliminate large quantities of the wasteland to rebuild in their own image ?

    Imagine you could dismantle his logic about 'mutants' and put him off the modified FEV idea and change the course of the Enclave in some form

    Strange that you mention Kirk because Malcolm McDowell (Eden's voice actor) played Soren (aka the man who killed Kirk) in a Star Trek movie (don't remember which one).
