Pretty awesome considering they were just a mail man a few weeks before. I've never seen this dude before though, or quest. I LOVE the fact im still learning about this game new stuff. I remember the exact day I got it, it was a friday, I was in 6th grade and my dad got it for me after a soccer game. Gods what I'd do to live that worry free life again, even for a day

@jaesjmes5498 This is in Nevada, and the Children of Atom are in Washington DC. They're almost on complete opposite sides of North America. So, saying that they're a continent away is somewhat apt.

@@evanderbradley5900 no, its pretty common in older more constrained games that have ambitious goals, pretty common now too, halo 4 and 5 had shit cutscenes because no motion actors, just va's and socially inept/dense animators who have no idea how people act and move when talking (and shit writing) and if i remember rightly crysis 1 had a few hicups in audio quality and audio recording mostly due to sacrifices made for maximum graphics showcasing (considering the game was a showcase of what cryengine can do in the right hands which accidentally turned into an amazing series, which afterwords they may have wrecked it, kinda hard to say since i don't really like games with launchers for the companies games)
@@_blood_moon_proto_1500 Yeah looked up the quest before and found it, still haven’t done everything in New Vegas it would seem. Understandable that it would be like this though considering obsidian’s tight deadlines to get the game out and all.
@@evanderbradley5900 true and fair, i've only ever beaten skyrim once, i still have not beaten 4 (the writing is shit and its more of an open world shooter than an rpg) i have yet to really get past meeting benny in new vegas and do not even get me started in fallout 3, it refuses to even launch for me

I would say that's farfetched if it wasn't for this game having several miracle drugs that do stuff like regrow severed tissue in a single injection, reverse the effects of radiation by popping some pills, and allow you to eat hundreds of pounds of food within a fraction of a second without any major drawbacks.

It looks like her hair's been falling out from trying to be there for him.
If your hair is falling out, your radiation sickness is already at lethal levels and no longer curable.
The Followers all have wild and interesting haircuts. Julie Farkas has a spiky mohawk. I doubt she's losing hair due to radiation.
The undercut is *so* close to greatness, but it's ruined by that stupid strand of hair that is apart from the rest. It takes a radical hair cut and turns it into a rad hair cut.

could also give him a radiation suit to wear, would contain the radiation he is emitting allowing him to be around other ppl
One of the ways to solve the quest is with a medicine check with Jude to basically say to give the patients rad suits or rad away

Kind of disappointing. Would actually have been a better ending. given that the ghoul obviously wants to die, given his drowning himself in alcohol. where does he even get the caps? radiating others to death and steal their stuff? passive-mugging?

Wasn't the space thing just a misconception? I thought so too when I played but I thought they were just using the rockets to travel across the country. It even said so in one of the ending cards that some of them returned to help fight off some kind of menace.

This mod makes me think about how a ghoul doctor could work. On the one hand there’s the literal peeling off flesh, but on the other hand there’s a resistance to radiation and disease which makes them perfect for handling contagious patients. Give one a good pair of gloves and they’re good to go really.

Being a glowing one that can actually talk honestly would suck, you can't have any long term relationship with anyone else, and probably not even regular ghouls because they might see you as a risk to keep around, either for trading with regular humans or people might mistake you for a group of ferals, so he turned to alcohol, and seeing how ghouls can't get drunk on regular stuff he's probably drink some messed up stuff, it's honestly sad, but amazing story telling

This whole quest is a deep cut reference of a quest from the cancelled Van Buren. Even down to the character names and actions.
They werent kidding when they had one of the titles for the main characters in 3 and NV called "messiah" some of those 100 skill checks are hilarious when you think about it.
I love the lil happy jump after completing the quest

I think the part that feels cursed about this is the fact that, right after, he reached level 2.
the doctors VA made me question a lot of this was a real quest
patient: I am sick, doctor, help me
doctor: stop being sick
patient: omg, I am cured, thanks doc
they were dumb, instead of fixing him, which seemed to take barely any time, they refused to heal him, making him stay at the door for a whole week giving radiation poisoning to everyone who walked past.
if they just cure him, even if it would take much longer than how quick it takes the player to heal, surely it would take less than a week.
