Just did the second half of Epic from Phone Box Junction and absolutely loved it. Best riding I've ever experienced. Can't wait to get back to the mountain to check some more trails out.
Great footage boys - we spent Aus day weekend there again and it was awesome fun, double up on the full XC loop was killer. Video really captures the spirit of the Mountain & everyone is friendly and keen to have a good time. Cheers!
Awesome scenery, most of the cc trails have few features but it's an epic location. Delatite Trail was beautiful but all over in forty minutes. Check out Lake Mountain it's been developed since.
Great video, but potential riders that are new to the area are really missing out on seeing the Abom and International downhill tracks. They are amazing trails, hence being continuously used for the nationals.
I rode the epic there and in a word it is 'tough'. A LOT of climbing to do and you really need to have some sort of energy supplement in your water so you don't 'bonk'. And they just had to make the climbing section of Stonefly a part of the epic. For a more average rider like myself that section was frustrating to say the least. The number of times I had to dab, stop or even fall off my bike due to hitting a hidden object with my pedals..... I lost count. My plan was to return to Buller the following day and try some of the other trails like Copperhead, but I was totally F****D after riding the epic. If you're going to do it........ get fit, be prepared for when you have a stack and brush up on your technical rock hopping skills. You're going to need them.
Mate, so good to see what i would say is a true and accurate description of the Epic. Today we did more climbing on boulder ridden fire trails than i have ever ridden before. The last downhill is incredible but the 32k grind to reach it sucked big time. I had huge expectations of this trail based on video's like but today, sadly, this iconic trail left me busted and disappointed.
They forget to mention just how much climbing there is on the Epic trail. It's not XC, it's one great big climb and one serious downhill. It's definitely not for beginners. Still good though, be fit

the great coaches in the mtb movie “How To ” ^o^
I was wondering what the best time is it to ride Mt Buller.
Is 2 days of riding enough to cover all the trails in Mt Buller ?
+Mario Benedict You need to be pretty fit to cover everything in the region in 2 days. The full Epic Trail alone takes about 6 hours.
You'd see most of it if you did a big day along epic yep.
Copperhead is so fun to ride
nicest single track I've ever seen.
Haha my Second Name is Buller ! :) i really have to Meet this Mountain !!!
