    yea i wished there were a monitor controller with bluetooth out to check on bluetooth devices.
    that would b insane!

      Me too. If you want to switch interfaces: the avid mbox pro has both input and output bluetooth.

    I‘ve read a lot about it‘s quality, but I‘d miss a second headphone output and also miss LEDs that show that certain buttons, like DIM, MUTE, MONO, are on (or off). In this price-range that should be a matter of course.

      I have a different opinion on that. 2 headhones out would be nice, but its not needed for where this controller is used in most cases -> mixing with the ability to have 2 sets of speakers as reference. Also you could argue that your interface has its own set of headphone outs and this controller will give you a second pair.
      Also: Leds yes maybe, always nice, but also not really needed when you have physical button you need to press in. The visual clues are already there. personally prefer having quality components like that true stepped dial over extra leds.

      @@whitenoisestudio That‘s true, but not for my case, as I use the monitor controller all the time and the Audio interface just for recording, thereby setting the interface for the DAW input, and the monitor controller always for the output, for monitors and headphones. That means in my situation that there is one headphone output for the closed model of headphones (recording) and the second one for mixing (open back headphones).
      So in my case I‘d rather use the Heritage RAM 2000, which is quite more expensive. At the moment I use a Mackie Studio+. Kind regards!

    I like Heritage audio gear in general. Would love one of their compressors!
    This one here looks nice and compact. Call me a romantic but the only thing i dont like is this Knob form. I prefer the classical cylinder.
    Find the Heritage form choice weird. The stepped volume is a nice feature.
    I have the Spl 2Control and love it and would never sell it. Its also better suited for my setup cause of its format.
    However i know the issue you mention with the channel discrepancies.
    When i raise the volume from 0 the first music comes more from the right and then it evens out. However we are talking about levels
    where the music is barely audible but since it is not affecting the printed file i don`t mind much tbh cause at normal levels these issues disappear
    or at least are completely inaudible for me

      Heritage obviously went with Marconi-style knobs - since they do a lot neve style cloning. I like this big knob, actually; it leaves no room for any doubt as to where you have set the volume.
      I often had the level differences with lower-budget stuff volume pots, and it went up a bit too high for my liking. Doesnt affect any audio export ofcourse if you work in the box, but I like to work at lower volumes.

      @@whitenoisestudio this is why I created a luxury arrow formed marker made out of green duct tape :-)

      Dissapointing. Musicians should only use gaffer tape ^^

      @@whitenoisestudio it’s the same thing basically . Duct tape the earlier name until the gaffers in the movies used it . As far as I remember, it was invented in order to seal ammunition boxes or something like this in the ww2 against water and stuff. I saw a myth busters episode once where they were testing it and weird ways. :-)

      I wouldn't use duct tape to tape cables together live ;-) Gaffer tape is the way to go for that - leaves basically no glue marks

    I've noticed that the small budget interfaces, the headphone volume is usually trash and the stereo output isn't even until it's really freaking loud (esp in my Audeze headphones). Would buying this help with that?

    • @whitenoisestudio
      @whitenoisestudio  7 місяців тому +1

      yeah this interface would fix that, of course you need to use the dual mono outputs of the interface to connect to the ram 1000. But my question is: why spend 500 bucks on this and not simply get a better audio interface? Seems like a more sensible investement, especially when you drive Audeze headphones.

      @@whitenoisestudio I'm currently using a UA Volt 76. What would you suggest if I don't want to buy something that will require me redoing my entire desk set up?

    • @whitenoisestudio
      @whitenoisestudio  7 місяців тому

      I'd expect the Volt to perform better. Weird. I my self use RME interfaces and AVID Mbox studio - they all perform excellent.
