    Awesome! The best pretzel review I've seen, particularly the mention of a Hammerlock. You're helping me get back the dance moves I knew so well but have neglected for over ten years.

    So love the part at the end when you show how to integrate the pretzel into known dances. The videography is excellent compared to other UA-cam videos which are hard to see. I feel like I'm there. Keep 'me coming! I'm learning so much.

    Hands-down best tutorial on the pretzel. I have done this move with no fewer than 5 different variations/patterns and this original TRUE pretzel is still my favorite. In my Country Swing lessons I started teaching people the Hammerlock long before we get to Pretzel to prepare them. I'm curious about how many different variations or patterns of the Pretzel you have come across.
    I have one friend who cranks me through this move and nearly dislocates my arm every time. I got so sick of it last night that I decided to do something. I think I'll share this video with him to help him overcome this problem because it's better coming from an outside expert source. Thank you for putting out quality information and saving me from pain. :)

      Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad we could help keep you from losing a limb lol
      Country dance is definitely twisty and turny with a lot of hand changes and the little things matter. Let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see here and if we can help :-)

    Can I come live with you two & be totally immersed!!!! 😄I’m a retired PE, Health & Dance Teacher. Currently, I teach Basic East Coast Swing (& pickleball) at our Ocean City, MD Parks & Rec. Happened on to your videos and your instructions are stellar! Wish I had them when I was teaching middle & high school!

    Years ago ( quite a few years ago) , I learned a swing move that would creat a sort of “picture frame” or “window”? Do you have any videos of what I’m talking about??

    Hi guys! Can you do a tutorial video on jitterbug?

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  Рік тому +1

      Hey there! Up to this point, we have done mostly country videos, but may start expanding in the future 😄 On the other hand, Jitterbug is just another name for Single Time East Coast Swing. Just replace the triple steps with a single 2 count weight change.

    You guys are coming to my town next week
    I sorely wish I could make your workshop classes, I’ve been watching your instructional vids for several months now.
    I feel like I’ve got some of the more simple moves down, this one included.
    I love the pretzel. It’s one of the moves I’ve included into my repertoire.
    But I’ll always refuse chocolate covered pretzels. (Jason Lee/Micheal Rooker reference. So horrible that when Earl did it, Merle voluntarily cut off his own hand)

    Congrats on 3K subs.
    I’ve been trying to find a variation in cowboy Cha Cha that replaces the “sway-sway” where both partners spin simultaneously. I heard it referred to as a military walk or somethin’. Know it?

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  5 років тому +1

      Schrodingers Box thank you! Honestly, I’m not sure we would be the best resource for the patterned partner dances like the cowboy cha cha. We do more of the lead/follow variety. Good luck!

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  3 роки тому

      Hi there. Well… will the left arm be in a sling forever? If not, wait to use it until it heals. Work on things that don’t require you to use it such as turns, balance, footwork etc. if that’s a permanent thing, that’s a different (and longer conversation)

    I see a lot of couples doing turns while in hammer lock, is there a safe way to do that?

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  5 років тому

      Well ... one way could how we demonstrate at 0:05 which is that she would keep the lower hand in position. The leader could do multiple turns and catch her hand in that position when done.
      You could also lead the hammerlock multiple times with a spin in between as in 1:14
