    This helped me out so much. Just ripped out the older sink and got a newer one and I have to drill a few holes and such haha. I can totally get this now. Thanks so much for these awesome videos!! All these diy projects I have coming up, however long they may be, are actually really fun and insightful because of videos like yours.

    I always liked vanities with the inlay type doors. One thing I have always done was use a 1 1/2" p-trap with the washer on the tail piece that reduces to the 1 1/4" tail piece from the sink drain. I have found that it gives better drainage especially if the sink doesn't have an overflow on it even though the trap holds water, it still drains quicker. Also by us, the 1 1/4" trap costs more. I have also used a belt sander on composite sinks in cases that I can sand the end by the wall, especially if the sink top doesn't offer endsplashes. Love that Delta offers long supply lines attached. Very seldom are they to short. If so, you can get a supply line, 3/8 on both ends.
    Great concept on the silicone instead of plumbers putty on these style sinks so the plumbers putty doesn't have a chance to stain the sink because of the oil base in it.
    Great job again Josh 🔨👍🏻

      I always like reading your detailed responses. You are a wealth of knowledge. I never really paid attention to the price difference of the P traps. That is a good way to transition. How are you described. Delta has always been my go to faucet. The quality is always there in the price is not absurd. I did do some research on what you mentioned and it is definitely something to watch out for when it comes to using silicon versus plumbers putty. They do make some plumbers putty that will not stain so easy. Thanks for watching like always David!

    Your videos are very informative and i feel i learn the most them. Don't ever feel that you need withhold information (like others do just because they said it before). Most active viewers will be new and rookies like me, so i don't care if you've done 10 others like this one, I expected all the details on this video(the one I'm watching), and you gave them to me. Love the honesty too.

    No need for purple primer. For finishing I like clear, less likely to drip on cabinets. Just make sure you buy a 4" or 8" spread faucet depending on the style. You do a great job explaining each step

    I’ve watched so many washer videos and seen people use liquid nails, or a silicon before you place the vanity top on the cabinet. Which is it? I mean makes sense to put liquid nails but silicon? I’m so confused

    Josh you are a great craftsman and instructor -- very thorough but your videos move at a good pace. Sometimes I use utility knife to notch out drywall in corner for a cleaner sink top fit -- it's usually built up joint compound that puts corner out of square and caulk covers the small drywall cut. Also the shower tile and corner shelves I caught glimpse of at beginning look great. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

    I always learn so much from watching your videos. I want to permanently remove my dishwasher from my double sink kitchen drain. Do you have any videos on what I need to do? I also want to convert a double sink vanity to a single sink vanity so that there's more counter space in the bathroom. Any helpful videos on how to modify the plumbing?

      I recommend using silicone or plumbers putty. The rubber gasket from below is definitely the heart of the drain, but the silicone improves the water tight seal. Thanks for watching!

    Does the sink just sit on top of the vanity like that or did you add some silicone? Would it not shift around if there wasn't anything attached to the vanity?

    • @TheExcellentLaborer
      @TheExcellentLaborer  Рік тому

      It just sits on top of the vanity, and when you silicone around the bottom of the sink too and vanity, it will keep it from shifting around. Hope that helps!

    You didn't show how to attach the sink to the counter. Does it just sit on top or is there something that holds it down? Also there is a lip around the front and sides of our sink we bought. So does the lip of the sink sit on the counter edges or is the counter supposed to go on the inside of said lip? I'm building the counter so I need to know what size to go by.

    • @TheExcellentLaborer

    Misleading title, since the sink is attached to the vanity top. It isn't helpful for people who're actually wanting to install a replacement sink in an existing vanity top. Please consider names carefully for future searchers.
